Let me start by saying I am happy for my hometown getting one of these. For the area and it's growth- it's great. But then I went, and I'll be as upfront as I can with this one:
I cannot stand chain restaurants who come to town and think they can just get by on name recognition alone.
No need for customer service, proper wait times, table-touches, refills, just forget that. We're "B DUBS" it's a privilege to eat here. You don't like waiting 15min to put in a drink order? You don't appreciate needing a drink refill and only being asked when the bill comes? Not a fan of overpriced food that continues to dwindle in portion size because numbers are down and management needs to cost-cut?
Go pound sand, customer. You're replaceable.
I've been here twice.
FIRST TRIP: Sunday afternoon for NFL games. There were 15 open tables, and even though it seemed busy, I can't speak to it. There were two of us. Me and my bud Frank who is a BWW fanboy. So I said let's get it.
It took 12min upon seating to be waited on. I watched 3 waitresses congregate near the side glassed in area and gossip, another waitress handling a table next to us who noticed my demeanor and kept walking by. Then, "oh have you been waited on?" No were just here to keep the chairs from floating away. Placed drink order and then ordered some food. I ordered a wrap, and fries.
Wrap was about as filling as a pack of saltines. Honest to god, there was maybe three pieces of meat in it. Fries? They were old. Spent $14 and haven't felt that violated since I did face to face confession with a priest in grade school.
SECOND TRIP: Weeknight with some work buds to do the Blazin' Challenge. One in my party had done it and COMPLETED IT less than one week previous. **THATS KEY IN THIS STORY.** Upon completion he was given the choice of free bill, or a t-shirt. In addition, he was given milk and ice cream.
So we walk in. THERE WERE 5 TABLES OCCUPIED. Hostess welcomes us. Asks how many. Says okay be right back. 4min goes by. New woman comes up. Asks how many. We answer. Says okay let me see. Disappears. 5min goes by. Another woman comes up. Asks how many. We answer. I'm triggered. Pulls menus and looks around corner. Disappears. 4min goes by. Finally the second woman comes back and seats us.
We sit. Order drinks. Me being proactive, I tell the waitress, who decided we were inconveniencing her and that she wasn't going to get a good tip, started talking in a condescending manner to us. Maybe she thought we were college students. Let me explain here I'm a grown ass man. I graduated college in '09.
I ask about the challenge- she scoffs and says it's not free ever, there's no milk and ice cream and they've never done that. My bud (previously mentioned) who did it NOT ONE WEEK PREVIOUS, explains he had completed it and received it. She calls him a liar essentially and offends the whole table. She disappears for 10min.
Nearby a nice waitress, dressed like Wednesday Addams (Halloween) walks by and I ask her about the challenge. She confirms they give milk and ice cream and you choose between free or t-shirt. So, triggered again, we order our food.
It comes, my bud completes it again, I did not. Others in our party order regular food in addition, much to the chagrin of our waitress- who must have had somewhere better to be. The additional food came out after about 25min, some cold. My additional wings looked they were watching their weight before slaughter, because they were tiny.
We ate and paid. Received one table-touch. It was bad. I mean painfully bad. Others in my party also swore off this location.
I have eaten at other locations, and it wasn't this bad. I can deal with skimpy portions, but if I have to fight to be sat, fight to be waited on, be talked to like I'm a child and then called a liar for just asking for clarification, and then get mediocre food? Yeah I'll make a PBJ at home.
I've been two times- and with food and spending money, I don't believe in three strikes. read more
