My family and I were traveling back to North Carolina from Western Maryland, and it had been quite a while since we'd eaten at a Bob Evans restaurant, and we were not disappointed! The only complaint that I had upon entering, and it was barely an issue, was that the hostess (Karina) seemed a little overwhelmed and in a hurry. To be completely fair, it was a Sunday morning, and all of the churches were letting out. Despite this, we were seated very quickly for being a party of 5. After we were seated, we were greeted by our server, Courtney. She was very friendly and professional the entire time, despite us being a party of 5, and there was another party of 10 seated in her section! When asked, she was very knowledgeable about the menu and seemed genuinely happy to answer any questions we may have had. I ordered the Country Fried Steak and Scrambled Eggs with loaded Home Fries and a Mountain Dew. Our drinks came out very fast and ice cold! The food, when delivered, was exceptional! The steak was perfectly seasoned, while the country gravy was hot and creamy. The eggs were fluffy and delicious, and the home fries were indeed loaded with the perfect amount of toppings. Other than the hostess being slightly overwhelmed, the only other thing I can think about that was wrong with the visit was that the men's bathroom, while clean and sanitary, had a malfunctioning handicap button to open the door for those who may have needed it. Another disappointing visit to this Bob Evans. First, we were seated right against the only occupied table in the section. Rather than do the smart thing and seat us at the table for two, we were again crowded in. I ordered the THE BIG WRANGLER BREAKFAST 1080 - 1100 cal.Two split biscuits topped with our house-made sausage gravy, two farm-fresh eggs, cheddar cheese and green onions. Served with two strips of crispy bacon, one slice of hickory-smoked ham and home fries. Well, it all looked good upon arrival, but the food was served luke-warm at best. The eggs were warm, but not hot. I asked the server if they set the gravy out and waited on the eggs, and she said, "probably." She said she would talk to the manager. She told me the manager "adjusted the bill." Well, she (the mgr) took the coffee off the bill. It wasn't the coffee that was cold. Actually, the coffee was quite hot. It is sad when a restaurant serves mediocre food and charges a not so mediocre price. This has been two bad experiences in a row, so probably go elsewhere for dining options. The dining area is typical B. E. style. I hope they get their act together. This used to be a good place to get a good meal. read more

Not impressed at all.....Service was "ok" almost as if she was just tolerating us. It's just a job you could tell nothing sincere. We had to ask for silverware, and we ordered the new hot cider drinks they weren't even hot. The food came. It wasn't even hot. It was lukewarm not impressed. Went on a weekday night. Had to ask for cutlery. Waited one hour for food and finally asked for the check. We had water and coffee while waiting. The waitress brought us a check for the full amount as if the food had been served. Our order came up as we asked for the check. The waitress then the manager tried to get us to take our order to go. We refused. The manager told us she was down to one cook. Maybe she should have been helping in the kitchen. Will not return. read more

I used to love Bob Evans! Live their soups! I ordered soup and rolls one day and received this. I tried to take a clear photo...the roll had a bite taken out of it. I am convinced they reuse their rolls. I called the restaurant and spoke with their to go manager. I literally asked her if this was a joke. I didn't ask nor was offered any refund. My friends and I stopped in here yesterday before going to the Cumberland Fairgrounds and the wait staff was super friendly, our lunch was good and timely. We all loved the Banana Bread. I had a fresh salad and a cup of Vegetable Beef soup, one of my friends had the Chicken Pot Pie and my other friend had open face Turkey and stuffing meal. Everything was really good! The service is always slow when I order take out. I've ordered from the takeout a few times and each time there is something missing. The last time I ordered I called an hour in advance to have my order ready for pick up, and they told me they forgot about it so I had to wait an extra 25 min. read more

The food was mediocre at best. To make it better, there was a hair in my food. The manager said they would take it off my bill but the waitress still tried to charge for it. (She ended up taking it off). The new food that was sent out was dry and honestly I lost my appetite. I've been thinking about how much I wanted to experience Bob Evans breakfast since I haven't been in about 13 years. So a few days ago (while on a shopping excursion) stopped by to order takeout. I was pleasantly surprised when I went inside to find out that the actual dining room was open. A small point of normalcy returning. It wasn't packed so we sat decided to dine in that day. Well when I checked in; I thought it would be a no-brainer, I mean it's Bob Evans, you can't go wrong with Bob Evans for breakfast... buuut I was wrong. I know that for the most part we like to review local establishments, I still think it's good to review the franchises as well. After my experience today, I've learned that they are not all created equal. I thought at franchises they liked to keep their menus even across the board, but here they don't. For any one who loves Bob Evans, you probably know about their broasted chicken (a beautiful technique where they bake and roast "fried" chicken....it's quite delicious. The chicken comes out perfectly juicy and crispy). Anyhoo this location didn't have it (huge bummer). They don't have real chicken parts either (legs, thighs, breasts, you get it) they only have chicken patties. How can one have chicken and waffles with chicken patties??! Another bummer. I ordered the veggie omelette with turkey sausage. They didn't make it how I asked, and the eggs didn't taste real; so I sent it back. And hubby's eggs were a disappointment also. All the children's entrees were just fine. Sausage...French toast....pancakes, you can't mess those up (unless you burn them which I'm glad they didn't) All in all, they get 2-stars for their food. It just wasn't good for me. The assistant manager handled our disappointment ok; she offered us a cherry loaf for our trouble which we didn't end up taking. I thought they would take off all egg products for the simple fact that we didn't like or eat them but they were still going to charge us so I didn't want anything else and we needed to get back on the road and finish our road trip. While Bob Evans was not crowded, the service was extremely slow. When the waitress took our order, I asked for hot tea. She brought back a cup that was 2/3 full and tea bags. I had to ask for the sugar packets. And then we placed our order and waited and waited and waited. My omelet was greasy. No salt. No pepper. Had to ask for that, too. Consistency and solid service is what I expect in casual, chain restaurants. Biscuits and gravy here should taste the same as any other Bob Evans. This location delivers. The restaurant is spacious and clean, and the breakfast crowd (especially on weekends) shows that this is a go-to spot for both locals and those passing through. Kids meals are $2.99 and offer lots of different options, including a cute reindeer pancake stack with bacon for the holidays. I love the Sunshine Skillet and biscuits. I'd agree with others that they need actual half-and-half with the coffee. I think they serve skim milk or a light cream. read more

We recently went to Bob Evans and were disappointed in the service and quality of the food. We waited 20 minutes for coffee and 40 minutes for food. When it finally came, the eggs were cold. The remodeling has made for a confused mess at the counters. People coming in and those leaving are intermingled whereas before, it was clear where you go in and where you exit. We stopped in here on a roadtrip for lunch. It was OK, nothing special. I am a vegetarian so this wasn't the best restaurant choice for me as I try to not eat anything that is fried, or has heavy fat. I ended up ordering blueberry pancakes and a side of fruit. I thought I was getting fruit salad, however, it was just a few very thinly sliced pieces of cantaloupe and a few red grapes. The pancakes were very good. But I wish they had at least one salad or sandwich for vegetarians on the menu. The menu as a whole doesn't have many healthy options. My fiancé had the Honey Butter Chicken and Biscuits and said they were very good. I did like that our waitress gave us drinks in to go cups when we left. The price was very reasonable and the service was good. Given their lack of healthy options, this isn't someplace that I would run back to - but it was OK in a pinch. Also, if you are being careful about Covid - this is not the place to go as they were not enforcing mask wearing and there were many people away from their tables unmasked. read more

My family ordered the Holiday Harvest take and heat meal for Thanksgiving. We found the feast for 4 people was the perfect amount of food for my husband, me, and our child. It was a very relaxing day to just heat up our food on the stove and spend the rest of the day relaxing as a family. The food all tasted well. The one complaint I had was that the order online said there would be pumpkin bread and there was none. We were really looking forward to their freshly baked bread. read more

Apparently, this Bob Evans has hired a Napkin Nazi to make sure the servers don't over-indulge their customers' requests for extra napkins. We just sat & watched our server come back to our table with the "extra napkins" we asked for, painstakingly peeling off "1" napkin from the small stack we thought was for us. Then she turned to the table next to us & did the same thing! Meanwhile, I asked for a bit of mayo for my sandwich, & she comes back with a small ramekin overflowing with mayonnaise! Food came and was wrong. Never got drink refilled until the check was coming. The check was right but the computer said we ordered more than we did. PLEASE clean the restroom - very sour urine odor and floors are slippery/slimy...disgusting. The odor is so bad, you will run into it before getting to the restroom area. Service was excellent - sorry, I didn't get the name of the gentleman with black hair and goatee. Very cordial, took orders without writing on pad, repeated orders and all items were served as ordered. Also, he frequently checked on us to assure a satisfactory visit. This restaurant needs a better cleaning service. There is dust on the chairs and all the woodwork. The carpet smells and looks terrible. I don't know why they can't run a handheld portable vac under the tables when they clean them. Sometimes it is disgusting. Also there must be something going on with their sewer system, it smells like urine if you sit in the section near the bathroom. We asked to be moved. The food was awful! When it got to the table it looked like it had been sitting out for a while not fresh at all. I ordered a steakhouse burger and it tasted like cardboard. I also ordered some French toast and it was okay but when I poured the syrup there was a clump in it... ew. I was so disappointed. We go to Bob Evans quite frequently. We love to use the BOGO coupons! Breakfast is amazing and dinner is great too. Sometimes the wait staff seem either new or do not know what they are doing but most of the time things are great. Only 1 time have we received an item that horrible. A Tale, told by a fool, full of sound and fury signifying . . . Recently, due to an extended illness I've been making a lot of hikes to Bob Evan's for pick up great comfort food for an ailing relative. Today, she had a desire for pancakes - in the afternoon. That narrowed the choice to Bob Evans. I ordered two stacks of pancakes and one apple pie. After a ten minute wait it was revealed that "Yes, we have no apple pie." Given that reality I substituted a chocolate peanut butter pie. What no one told me was the prep time was quite long. After a wait time of an hour (total) I had my pie. Upon getting in my car I discovered I was short one order of pancakes. I had to return to correct that - which the staff did fairly quickly, although all of the orders were short from the menu description of four pancakes per stack. One had two, the rest were three. The food was fine, but the aggregation to get the food was really a strain. This all could have been avoided with careful attention to detail and communication. I'm sure I'll return - the food was good, and the staff is polite and friendly, even if they drop the ball once in a while. It was more ordeal than it was worth, hopefully there are better visits ahead. read more

We stopped here with our family. Service was great and food was what we expected. However, we were seated in a partial booth, partial table. Not bad for having two young boys. I usually love Bob Evans, but I was a little disappointed. The waitress wasn't very friendly. I ordered the original breakfast with double chocolate pancakes and crispy bacon. The pancakes were supposed to have guiradelli chocolate chips in the pancakes and a drizzle of chocolate syrup on the top. The top was smothered with chocolate syrup and only the bottom pancake had mini chocolate chips to where you couldn't even taste chocolate because they were pretty much burnt. When asked about the braised eggs, our waitress said she didn't know because she didn't eat eggs. Farmer's omelet was greasy.
