Went to D'Atri's twice while in the area for a motorcycle rally. One early dinner, one breakfast. The dinner, we were seated very fast, no wait. The food was good, and we were served quickly. The breakfast was even better. Only a minute wait for a table, as it was VERY busy, and the service was also great. The portions were HUGE and I was so full, I had to waddle out. We had coleslaw ( crisp, creamy & full of flavor), pickled beets( excellent- just like from grandma's house), mashed potatoes with a choice of gravy ( brown was seasoned well, and added to the flavor of the potato. Food was good, but nothing out of this world. We are spoiled at eat at restaurants all over the country though and have some high standards. I felt like the pancake fell short flavor wise and the French toast was good but nothing made either stand out. If we hadn't had some of the things we've eaten lately we might have rated the food higher, but based on these two items we'd rate their food about a 3 star. Service was great though so that's 5 star, the place was clean, standard "restaurant" look, and we were able to park our truck and trailer Nextdoor at the hotel. There used to be a bakery area where we grabbed some pizza rolls for the road and a tiramisu which looks beautiful. Will update after we've tried those! read more

Very disappointing. It's the first time I have had lunch at D'Atri's in LaVale and I expected it to be as good as their breakfasts and dinners. I ordered the tuna melt and asked that it be put on an a English muffin instead of bread. The large muffin wasn't toasted, the tuna had so much miracle whip in it that it was more like a thick Miracle Whip sauce, and very difficult to even cut. Wow! We were driving in the interstate and needed to stop for lunch. I love trying local places and my son saw this one had good reviews. The seasoned lettuce gimmick added nothing. Definitely ask for peppers though. The sweets were pickled and delicious. My wife got lasagna and I want to believe it was homemade but the flavor and texture were on par with a frozen family dinner. The dough on my daughters personal pizza was tough. Service was friendly but very slow and the restaurant was very cold. We got two deserts but neither left enough of an impression to mention. The place was packed with locals when we were there. Inside was packed (lunch on a Tuesday). I ordered the large cheese steak with fries. I have tasted better road kill. The steak was under cooked, had ZERO flavor. The very wet lettuce was all I could taste which is not what I paid almost $15 for. I paid for a cheese steak sub. The entire thing was a soggy mess. Threw half away. Everything was cold as well and I picked it up when they said to pick it up. Had it back in my room inside of 5 minutes. Cheese was flavorless and all layered on the bottom, not throughout. Sad to say, the napkins would have more flavor. At least they were generous with those so I could clean up all the mess from the thing falling apart from being so soggy. Waste of a lot of money.
