My sunny side up eggs were the most perfectly done I've ever had. The sourdough toast was grilled, not popped from a toaster. The cortado coffee was excellent. Really nice coffee shops in downtown Cumberland MD. Clean and pleasant interior with lots of seating. I had lunch there and had a chicken salad melt with pasta salad. For me, it was way too much mayo on the pasta salad and nothing really in it but the bow tie pasta. The melt was decent but again too much mayo. Service was friendly and efficient. This is a delicious and lovely cafe located in Cumberland Maryland! It is a few minutes walk from the National Park (C&O biking lanes) and Maryland historic train rides. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the eatery is well organized and designed. I ordered the gingerbread latte with oat milk, it was a little watered down with the milk, but otherwise yummy. Great atmosphere in meandering historical building. At least 3 seating areas to choose from. The cashier this morning was clearly in a bad mood but other people delightful. I had the egg white pita which was delicious. My husband had an omelette that sadly was cold inside which made everything cold within a minute. Drip coffee was awful. Tea was good. My family were driving to Washington DC for a shopping trip and decided to have a sit down breakfast in Cumberland. Both my wife and daughter had a coffee there previously and had enjoyed the experience. I found the atmosphere comfortable and relaxing, perfect for breakfast. The menu was varied, and the staff very knowledgeable about the choices. We had a special coffee cake with lemon and berries, an amazing breakfast sandwich with bagel, cheese, egg, and sausage. My boyfriend and I have been to cafe Mari quite a few times, and have always had a lovely experience. Today we went, and the girl that took our order had the nastiest attitude and was just downright rude. Not to mention she kept wiping her nose with her hand while making drinks and taking orders. A couple of days ago, I was lucky to have an excuse to be in Cumberland for a few hours (work meeting). On the recommendation of a local, I stopped by Cafe Mark for a coffee before I took a walk down Baltimore Street. My coffee (a cappuccino) was good, and the service was great. The interior is charming and larger than a lot of coffee shops I visit nowadays. With its location (just at the corner of Mechanic Street and Baltimore Street), I can definitely see why this spot is popular - with locals and with tourists. "Weird TIP scenario" you tip at first when you buy your meal. Then you self serve your water and seat, but i like to tip after service is rendered... I took a weekend trip to Cumberland with my boyfriend and we hit up this cafe twice because of how good their breakfast options were. I really enjoyed their scramble bowl and seasonal drinks (specifically the chai apple cider). Service is a bit slow to be honest. I feel they need more people on the line to cook. It took almost 30 minutes for our order to come out. However our waitresses during both experiences have always been very attentive. I loved the setup and decor. The staff seemed friendly. Coffee was fine (I'm not snobby about it so I can't really describe it beyond that). I turned around from the counter to dress it up with cream and sugar, but they only had cheap takeout single-serve creamers in a big steel bowl that looked like a kitchen tool (not even decorative). A wonderful breakfast. Only disappointment was the limited Sunday menu, so I had to change my order on the fly. Sat upstairs to people watch and it was clear to see why a limited menu worked well. Ordering was quick and simple. Ordered tea and took my table number upstairs to wait. Food took longer than I imagined, but worth the wait. My omelette was cooked perfectly and the veggies in my omelette were perfect, not soggy. The marble rye was flavorful, toasted great. I loved watching my tea being made. You walk in there's no one yo help you, you have to ask other patrons, they guide you to go around the other side then you get in a line order the food they give a number you go back n sit and a guy will bring your food. The scrambled egg were the ugliest ever, my wife sent it back, he came back with eggs just as ugly, brown eggs ugh!!!. The best thing was the home fry. Coffee very strong. Amazing food, delicious drinks, and incredible staff! In a short 24 hour stay, we went for A lunch and then breakfast the next day. For a family of three, each entree was AMAZING. Not a single complaint in food. Plenty of space, even during the lunch rush and there are board games upstairs to keep the kids entertained. The specialty drinks were half the fun. This place is so cute, and the coffee is strong and good! I had a latte and sampled my husband's iced americano. I got there in the early afternoon so it wasn't pastry time but it looked like they had muffins and bagels. COVID things: staff all wore masks, and the patrons I encountered while I was there kept a safe social distance.
