Fantastic service and everyone was super friendly. The parm garlic is my new favorite. Wings were perfectly made, not fatty.

We got up early on Christmas Eve and opted to find a cool breakfast place. After a few minutes in Yelp, we found Backwater which is nestled in Historic Downtown Melbourne. Parking should not be a problem but if you can't find some on your he street their is a public parking garage not to far away. Upon arrival we were seated pretty quickly and all the staff were very friendly. Our server Amy was awesome and recommended a few breakfast items that were awesome. We opted for the Greek breakfast and the Cuban Benedict which were both fresh and excellent. We also split their seasonal Cinammon pancake as well which was great as well. Pancakes are huge so make sure you leave some room if you plan on having one. All portions were healthy as well, no skimping at Backwater and everyone was in the Christmas spirit as well which was awesome! The atmosphere is friendly, laid back and welcoming which is great if you are from out of Town. So if you are in the area, make sure you check them out for breakfast or lunch. I am sure you will not be disappointed! So in fact he spirit of the holiday I will adjust my customary ending to say Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and a prosperous and blessed Happy New Year to all of you! Enjoy and Bon Appétit mes amis!

Mimi was our server and was excellent, very knowledgeable and helpful…read more One of us ordered the meatloaf along with 2 sides, broccoli and baked potato. There was plenty to take home and have a second meal, and she said it was all delicious. I ordered the soup (clam chowder) and house Caesar. The soup was nice and hot and tasted great. The salad was good, though a tad heavy on the dressing. A general note about Miller's and its kids' menu: I have eaten at a few of these places around the state, and I find their policy about adults eating off the kids' menu to be weird. Some servers are fine with it and some claim management won't let them allow you to order of the other menu. Most items on the kids' menu cost about $8. The (adult) meatloaf is $8.50. The fish and chips are $7.99. So, what is the big deal about an adult ordering off the kids' menu if the costs are the same? Some of us don't want a 1/2 pound burger. The kids' menu has a 1/4 lb. burger. Also, we sometime dine with our disabled nephews, and they usually prefer "kid friendly" dishes. I wish Miller's would review this policy.

Since we were catching up with family we chatted away about 45 minutes and we realized "where is our food". Somewhere things went off the rails. To say we were surprised is an understatement. Finally the manager comes over and says the food should be out in a minute. An hour after ordering our food arrived. The food was average at best. Not what we experienced before. Two of the six ordered the daily special (ribs), two carbonara, ravioli and a salad. Not complicated. Manager was apologetic and comp'd the table. Server was upset since every table In her section had issues. We took care of Taylor knowing it wasn't her fault. Am I off Miller's. No. But if they repeat this nightmare I will have to really think twice about coming OTB. Also they got rid of the Field Goal Trio of wings, zingers and shrimp. So sad.

Hyatt Runway Rooftop…read more This is one of those places you keep meaning to go. We finally went and I'm glad we did. The ingress and egress was simple, just follow the signs. There was ample free parking. We arrived before sunset which allowed us to see fabulous sights- the airport traffic in daylight, and the sunset which is God's gift after a long day. At night, the airport is a hub of activity. It's a terrific view. If you're interested in sports, they have it available at the bar. It isn't just the atmosphere and view that make this a good restaurant, it is the quality and quantity of food. Like some of you, I traveled extensively during my career. Hotel restaurants were not known for high-quality food. This place is an exception. We were pleasantly surprised by the excellent food, ample amounts, and reasonableness of the prices. The service was excellent. We will return. We recommended it to you.

Was told that they couldn't do sliders because the Portions for the $9 happy hour apps are 1/2 portions to the regular $18 apps!! We had the nachos and then the flat bread which were good. Our bill total at that time was about $50. When we realized the Groupon amount balance would be lost I ordered the 12 ounce ribeye ($36) and the appetizer wings ($9) to go. When we got home I saw that the 12 ounce ribeye looked small so I weighed it. It weighed 6.8 ounces!! The 5 wings were the smallest wings I have ever seen. I took the steak and wings back the next day. First I was told that since it was. Groupon there wasn't anything they could do. After I was complaining that their advertising that the ribeye was 12 ounces and mine weighed 6.8 ounces the manager said they would prepare another steak for me. The steak was good but only weighed 9 ounces. When I questioned the wing sizes the manager said she realized that they were and she had been trying to change that. Not a good experience. View was nice The 1/2 portion of appetizers and the deceptive ribeye weight are not going to bring repeat customers.

**INITIAL REVIEW**…read more Most of my fellow Yelpers know if food were categorized by a genre, breakfast and brunch has a special place in my heart. Ergo, I am on the constant search for more breakfast and brunch places to add to my repertoire. With that in mind, I must stress that Historic Downtown Melbourne a.k.a. Melbourne Main Street has an amazing number of breakfast and brunch places. But the one I admire the most is The Roots Restaurant Tavern, which I will shorthand simply to The Roots for the remainder of this review. Though an address is provided, it must be stressed The Roots is a little "off the mainstreet" of Melbourne Main Street. Just west of the train tracks, the road splits in which the northernly direction is the continuation of New Haven Ave. or the actual Melbourne Main Street. The Roots is on the southern road, right next to The Iron Oak. Take note that The Roots is quite a cozy location. On the outside, The Roots has this look of an old saloon out in the wild west. There are a few tables and chairs for outdoor seating, excellent for people-viewing while eating your meal. Inside, The Roots looks delightfully tacky with all the knick-knacks hanging around and about on the walls. Imagine how Cracker Barrel used to look before the new CEO decided the decor should be more minimalist. But my statement on how The Roots looks small from the outside definitely shows when you are inside, too. The place is small. They definitely utilize the space as best they could, with large party seating being in the back for only one party. Still, take note of this limitation. My waitresses were very kind and attentive when serving me. But I am sure you all want to know about the food. The times I have eaten here, I have had three meals: The Eggs Benny Flight, and Pancake Flight, and Shrimp n' Grits. I will detail each in the pictures of food (if I have them), but I will say that everything here was delicious. My one lone criticism is that some of these flights are best enjoyed with another, not by yourself. On a sidenote, the restroom is clean and stocked, but there is only one and it is unisex. As I said earlier, The Roots is the best breakfast and brunch restaurant, well for me, in Historic Downtown Melbourne. So it is understandable why I am giving them a five-out-of-five stars for their review. Food, service, and ambiance are all excellent and the issues are way too minimal for me to consider them having any major affect. If you are ever going to eat at The Roots only once. My suggestion are the flights. Either eggs bennies, pancakes, or mimosas, you can't go wrong with any of them.

It's a cute place and fun to go to. I got the pancake flight and loved I could pick different…read moreflavors

Why are you sleeping on The Mansion in Melbourne??? If you are you are missing out!!…read more I'll admit I don't get there as often as I would like being I live in the North part of the county, but every time we have been there it has not been a disappointment. We visited this evening for dinner and had a great time! The food and drinks were so good not to mention the amazing selection of bourbon that is available. They also have a cellar where they sell a variety of wine and spirits. We came here looking for something particular and our server took the time to go to the cellar while we were eating to find it for us. We have attended holiday events here over the years as well and it was always a treat. I have seen posts about the atmosphere we sat outside and really enjoyed it. Please check this place out. Reasonably priced for the portions, great presentation, service and quality.

I just figured that there was an upstairs area without Ada assistance. Instead.... Our walk to the table took us through storage and trash areas. See the pictures. The dining area....omg. See the pics. It still looks like a spare bedroom. The ceiling is falling in! There's black mold around the vent. My back was to a closet covered by a curtain. Service. They tried, but, were woefully understaffed. There were dirty plates stacked in the floor. The drinkware was plastic. The Mai ti tasted like blackberry. The Long Island ice tea tasted like lemon juice. My old fashioned was just whiskey on the rocks with an orange slice. We ordered the pretzel appetizer. Cheese was good, but the pretzel was a hoagie roll. When the server brought dinner, she thumped the plates on the other side of the table. I got up and moved them to where we were sitting. I asked for a glass of wine... it came with our check. I can't say I'll be back. Seeing the dirty plates on the floor and holes in the ceiling was just horrid. Seeing other patrons get rained on as they sat outside was terrible. I had been charged $10 just to make the reservation. Overall, 4 drinks and 2 dinners was about $120, not including reservation fee and tip. Overall, it was just sad. Very sad.
