It is the worst. All they have are alternative lifestyle kids working there. They don't buy good stuff. I brought Nike, Lucky, Polo, Calvin Klein,Cole Han shoes worn once, and Tommy Bahama, I had shorts, jeans, dress pants by Perry Ellis, and other designer's still with the tags on them. I had 2 pairs of ColeHan shoes that had been worn once. Nothing I offered them had been worn more than 10 times. Every piece was a name brand, and in good shape. The kid with earrings coming out of her nose, ears and mouth, dressed in black with dark make up said "none of this fits with what we are looking for" I would stay away as a seller or buyer. I went to both Buffalo Exchanges during my visit to Phoenix and I preferred this location over the one in Tempe. One of my favorite things to do when I travel to a different city is to go thrift store shopping because I end up finding gems that I can't find back home and that I know no one else will have. On this trip, I scored at this particular store as I found their vintage collection quite impressive and left with a good collection. There were some items with some rips and tears but I was able to get these items discounted and altered upon my return home. Upon my next visit to Phoenix, I will definitely come back here and recommend this place to others in the shopping mood. I'm glad that we were staying at an AirBnB close by which made this location super convenient. I was also happy that they had their own parking lot which is not the case for the other locations in the bay area, Los Angeles, and San Diego. read more

Waste of time trying to trade items and their trending style looked like a pirates outfit. They cater to the local ASU college attire, so cropped and denim, nothing vintage or unique about this location, they're just trying to be trendy. I moved here from NYC and am disappointed with the Buffalo exchange here in Phoenix. It seems to cater to the ASU young student with fast fashion labels and designs. Buffalo in NY (and other locations) are more about taking in unique finds and VINTAGE pieces. Yet here we are- reselling an h&m shirt for the same price as in store. Went here for the first time. Staff where nice , seemed clean. This is based on my "sell" experience. While I waited for my items to be looked at I saw what they had in stock and I definitely had clothes that were just as nice and nicer than what they had there, they ended up only taking two items out of about 40 which I thought was ridiculous considering what I saw out on the racks. I end up taking the gift card for the items and handing it to another customer that was there as I feel there was nothing there that I would ever buy. They act like they are above you and you are beneath them. They're snotty and extremely passive aggressive. They made me feel absolutely awful shopping here. I put my clothes I wanted to exchange all on hangers, some not even worn and all in good condition. The girl at the counter refused all of mine and said to bring in "asymmetrical tops" when one of mine literally was a red asymmetric halter top only worn once. When I looked around the store, I saw tons of clothes in the style and fabrics I had brought in but yet was turned away. I think the workers are biased. Shopped at BE on 7th a few weeks ago, having bought lots of clothes and shoes for years at the Santa Monica store. So disappointed! Though the staff were friendly and outgoing, the merchandise was sub sub standard. Most of it looked like it had been pulled out of garbage bags and hung up. Wrinkles galore. And not stylish. This is near to the university so I expected higher prices. Shoes, men's cowboy shirts, and great vintage jeans were among my favorite finds. The best thing to do is bring a few of your pieces to get a discount on the items you are going to buy. The shop is chucked full, crowded with merch. The employees are very kind and want to help you find items. This is a place I would like to go to on a monthly basis as the items change at such a rapid pace. read more

I just love the Buffalo Exchange! It is so fun just to filter through the wide array of clothing and accessories offered here. The prices are amazing and the items are slightly used goods. Who cares at these prices. I have found some of the coolest shirts, concert T's and shoes (including nearly new Doc Martins) here for next to nothing. The front case is loaded with sun glasses, rings and bracelets of all designs! Oh, I forgot to mention the watches too. Twyla scored the coolest pair of hourglass cufflinks that I totally dig on and a bitchen pair of Chanel Sun Glasses. The buyers here are really cool and if you have some old (cool) clothes that you want to trade in, they are very fast at estimating what they can use and the value. There are walls filled with belts and a wide array of hats too. The plaza that it is housed in has a Starbucks and Taco Guild. So, if you are hungry or need some Joe in between your shopping quest, they are both within 35 yards of the Exchange. Come down and shop with friends and family. This place is a joke. Do NOT come here to sell anything, I've been duped not once, but twice now. Which I blame myself for thinking I could give it another shot. Firstly, they changed their method of how they're handling buying clothes which is very understandable as everyone needs to keep up with the times for safety in general. What I'm thoroughly upset about is that they ACT like the amount they're able to sell your clothes for is a LOT less than they actually plan on selling it for. Please tell me how I brought over $1000 of designers women's clothes WITH tags still on them, that's right BRAND NEW, prices on average $60 per article of clothing, and yet I literally get offered $60 for the the load minus 4 they rejected. What's crazy is I was sooooo sure that I'd at least be able to get at the bare minimum $100, and was content and prepared to get such a small amount for the quantity and quality of again, brand new designer clothes. I literally came to terms with that, and they come back to tell me they thought it was fair I'd get $60?? What. A. Joke. Last time I sold here, the lady told me how much my previous items would sell for, and let me tell you this. When I went back and checked the items I just sold them, they were more than TRIPLE the price she told me they would sell them for. This place purposefully is misleading, takes advantage of people trying to just get a respectable amount for what they bring, then don't even let you deny their offer because they make you sign a paper they won't explain it entails or warns you that once you bring it to them to inspect, it's officially theirs and you have no say now. Shady business practices. I'm over this place, they have good taste in what they sell, but very poor business practices. I don't know why I bother trying to sell anything here. They've never bought anything of mine. I understand they're going for "specific styles" but when I shop in the store and see gold jumpsuits, excessively ruffled grandma tops, and stained/ripped shirts I guess I feel better knowing my style doesn't fall into what they consider "style." Anyway I always like shopping here regardless, although yesterday's experience wasn't the best. Their customer service is always questionable and yesterday was no different. With covid going on they only let so many in the store at once (3-4 apparently) so I had to wait outside while my friend was already inside shopping. I understand strict covid policies and I'm willing to follow the rules, however there's no need to be rude about it. Girl working there felt the need to race me to the door to tell me I couldn't come in yet. I told her my friend was already inside, and before I could even finish she said "nothing I can do sorry" and closed the door on me. Again, I'm willing to follow the rules and wait outside even if my friend is already inside but there's no reason to be rude about it. Three guys walked up and waited in line behind me and eventually just left. You're losing business already due to covid, so you'd think you'd step up your customer service quality to compensate. read more

** SELLERS BEWARE ** Do not attempt to sell your clothes here unless you just want them to steal them from you. If I could leave zero stars I would. I spent an entire week clearing out my closets and drawers and dealing with my own sentimental connections before deciding to take over 500$ worth of designer clothing to this location. Yes, they had been warn but they were still in very good condition. I was unable to pick up my clothing the day off due to a tragic emergency, called the location and was told I could come pick up my things tomorrow considering. The next day, I came in to pick up said things and was met with rude stares and eye rolls. The initial employee I spoke to laughed at me and said "we don't do that". I affirmed that I had called and was unable to pick them up due to a friends passing and she continued to tell me that nobody saved anything and that if my items weren't picked up same day they were already donated. What?! There is absolutely zero chance that out of all the items I brought there was nothing purchased and also very little chance that the donation team had already picked up my items in less than 20 hours since I had dropped them off. I tried to get the names of the donation centers and was met very rudely by the manager stating they "aren't liable to give that information". I have never heard of an organization based on "donation" being unable to transparently share where items were donated. Red flags galore. I wouldn't be surprised if some employees will be wearing the items they claim were donated. I am so disgusted by this location, their management, and the way they choose to handle this really unfortunate situation. I will not be returning to any Buffalo Exchange, and hope this review helps guide others to different organization that operate honestly. read more

In Phoenix visiting family and craved for thrift store shopping! This location has the best items. It's organized, clean and the fitting rooms are "roomy". Staff is friendly and all seem knowledgeable with fashion not to mention stylishly dressed suited to their personality. Mall shopping can get boring and rote - same style top or dresses in different colors. I made out like a bandit with the coolest items. Most of their merchandise is new and the recycled items don't have that "thrift store" smell! Great shoes collection Definitely make this your first shop stop! All intake employees were friendly & moving as quickly & efficiently as they could through the line of people consigning clothes. They picked all my funky & vintage items over my current styles. The vibe of this store definitely leans more towards wanting vintage and unique pieces, so keep that in mind when bringing your stuff. The poor review is due to them only wanting to buy 2 shirts out of probably 30-40 items of clothing that I brought in. I completely understand that they are looking for a certain type or style (mainly hipster clothes) but I had many nice shirts that I absolutely thought they would buy back. The lady taking a look at the clothes was really nice but she even said that the current "style" that they were looking for were short sleeve button up shirts and they only ended up taking one of about the 5 short sleeve button up shirts I had. It was just a little frustrating to take these clothes all the way over there to find out they would only accept 2 shirts at a whopping total of $7 that they would give me. I used to really like coming into this store, but recently it's been a total waste of time. I went in two weeks ago, looking to sell some items. The girl who helped me out was super friendly, super sweet! She ended up taking a few of my items. But I noticed the girl next to her, wouldn't even crack a smile! She wasn't even helping me, and I felt bad for the girl she was helping! I then returned a week later, selling more things that I was told were "buyable" (bulky sweaters, pants, boots, etc) to get ready for the winter sales. The girl who helped me, short blonde hair, was NOT pleasant whatsoever. She didn't smile and barely even looked at me. She took a look at my stuff and said she didn't find anything worth buying. I smiled at her and said "thanks. No worries" She then PUSHED my belongings towards me and looked away. Didn't bother saying, "have a good day!" "Thanks for coming in." NOT ONE WORD. So disappointed in the lack of customer service. And the lack of quality clothes. You're better off buying from Goodwill! The people are nicer! read more

This place has some cool finds when you dig, especially jewelry. However the prices are nowhere near as cheap as they could be; it's Goodwill stuff at 3x the price. Don't bother trying to sell or trade your stuff here. 95% of the time you'll get everything rejected with no explanation and if they do accept your stuff, you'll get super ripped off for it. You're way better off selling or trading at My Sister's Closet, PLATO'S, or on an app like Mercari or Poshmark. I've made hundreds on those apps selling items the kids at Buffalo have scoffed at. You can get way more $$ and trade for your stuff and also not have someone look at it like it's worthless. Not to mention the multiple holes I've found in multiple pieces once I try them on. I've been into this particular, buffalo exchange many times before and normally I love it so much, but today, really disappointed me and I will not be returning to this location ever again. I took into very large boxes of clothes. I made sure everything was in great condition, folded nicely, I had a lot of namebrand items, vintage items, all in amazing condition, at LEAST $800 worth of clothing. The girl that went through my clothes was a manager, so I was pretty stoked to see what she wanted. She spent maybe five minutes going through everything didn't even unfold half of the items or even glance at some of them. I felt like she just wanted to get it done and over with, the customer service was not great either and at the end, she proceeded to tell me that the jeans I had brought were now out of style when I brought in many different styles of jeans in including skinny jeans, ripped, jeans, mom, jeans, dress pants. Levi's, pacsun, hollister, Calvin, stussy, huf great items she didn't even bother checking out. She decided to take ONE piece of clothing, decided to go to Plato's closet and got $270 !!! I can totally understand if anything was out of trend, which I'm sure there were items that were not in season or whatever completely get it, but the fact that she didn't even try to look at anything almost and just rush through everything made it seem like she didn't care that I was there. read more

I came here the other day and the girl with short blonde hair and a spider web tattoo looked me up and down and wouldn't smile at me and just started looking through my bag of clothes. She was extremely rude to me. You shouldn't have workers working for you who are going to scare customers away just because they're intimidated by other women. I have always been a fan of Buffalo Exchange; the prices and the quality of apparel is truly unmatched. Although the customer service can be hit or miss, I would recommend Buffalo to anyone as a buyer. As a seller, however, I would not suggest to most: they are highly selective about the clothes they take and will often take just the most obscure and unique apparel. Staff is friendly for except maybe one I've sold and bought here a few times and pricing is fair and they have great things!! Only reason I am giving 4 stars is because the parking is a total nightmare if you are going in the evening as they share a lot with a very popular restaurant and some of it gets blocked off for Valet. The store itself is also SUPER tiny!!!!! Very stuffy and no where to even move so it is not the best feeling..it isn't their fault but it has to do with my overall experience when I go there! Here is a quick personal story that shows great customer service! - I bought some boots and realized when I got home that they forgot to take off the sensor off one boot so when I came back they took it off and gave me a $5 dollars off $25 or more purchase for my troubles! I love this place. They're always super friendly right when you walk in. Of course, there are some times the employees are helping people and don't get a 'Hello! Welcome in' right out, but 90% of the time I've been in it's been that way. Someone has always come around asking if I'm doing well, and also offered to keep my clothes by the dressing room while I keep shopping. All in all, this place is awesome. 5 stars for sure. They offer a wide variety of items and good prices. If you had a bad experience, it was probably on an off day, we all have those, or maybe you're upset that they didn't buy your clothes, but if you bought them and don't want them anymore, you can't get mad if someone else doesn't want to buy them either. IV never had any complaints except for i lost my new ring i bought, and it was found and returned 3 week later IV been checking on it 12 times since I Lost it,well they had My ring and told me since I didn't answer my phone?!!
