I confess that I almost never get a coffee outside of my own home (although when there I drink a LOT of coffee). But if I get that urge, maybe 5 times a year - there is only one place I go...and no, it is not the coffee chain that shall not be named. I go to Buffalo Espresso. They have 2 locations near my home and they have GREAT coffee and GREAT service. If I feel like a fancier coffee than my usual Americano with lots of cream - I go for a white chocolate mocha. Buffalo Espresso is the only place I get those because they use some sort of white chocolate power that is DE-licious and actually tastes like white chocolate. The syrups that other places use taste like extra sugary caramel - ugh. But here - white chocolate mochas, hot or cold, are fantastic and a real treat. I've been going here for 20-ish years and will keep doing so as long as they are open! read more

They make really good drinks! I'm sure everything is good but I usually just get coffee or energy of some sort. I've never had a bad drink from here! Also the baristas are really friendly, I don't come a lot cause I live far away but today when I went I had a male barista and he was super nice! I wish I got his name but his coffee was super good and he was the perfect amount of friendly, not overly fake friendly or anything but just a genuine nice person. I like that!! I avoid this stand and drive out of my way to Mercury's. Literally every time I have come to this particular location I regret it. Every. Time. The service is super shitty, they never engage customers, only talk negatively about other aspects of their lives, only talk to each other, or are just picking up on the conversation that I so rudely interrupted by being a customer. It's obvious that it's the culture of this specific location. (the 35th/Seattle Hill Rd location is much better, to be fair but I hate giving Buffalo my biz at this point) No matter who I get at this stand, I get shitty service. Every once in a while (every 3 mos or so) I would give them another chance, hoping it was just my bad luck, but was proven right every time. Those odds are insane! At the end of the day I give Buffalo about $12/mo, vs the $150 (+ tips) that I give the various Mercurys locations, which is sooo superior in a thousand ways. read more

I prefer this spot to Starbucks but noticed quality is slipping. Recently it's hit or miss if my coffee is any good, every other time it tastes burnt. I tried their gravy bisquit and it tasted like raw flour. Not sure why I tried it, the advertising sign says "gray bisquit" I told them 3 months ago a handful of their signs had misspellings but the signs stay up. It didn't bother me the first few months but when my coffee quality started going downhill I wondered if maybe the company who doesn't care about spelling is starting not to care about their customers. read more

My husband and I go here almost daily. The girls that work there are always friendly and do a fabulous job of making our drinks. Of course they know us by now, and visit with us, and know our drinks. We have several of their reusable cups, and we also use the gift card and punch cards to save us money, but it is worth every penny we pay. One of the nice things is that I need sugar free flavors, and this stand has sugar free offerings in every flavor I come up with! Starbucks has two. This is so much better than Starbucks! read more

Okay so the coffee here is good. However! This is the second time I gave them my punch card for a free drink and they didn't use it. And just gave it back to me. The first time the girl said I'm sorry I didn't look at it before swiping your card and I said ok. This time the girl didn't say anything to me when she gave it back and charged me full price and I said why didn't you use my free one? She said well you HAVE to tell us you want to use it.... are you kidding me? OBVIOUSLY i want to use it if I HAND YOU A FULL PUNCH CARD. This is our favorite place to get awesome espresso! The staff there are terrific, helpful, and they keep their clothes on! Contrary to what the previous two reviews say, the girls will do a "212" (i.e. really HOT!) whenever you ask for it. I carpooled with a great friend that got the 212 every time we went through, and I could never hold onto it, it was so hot. Try the White Chocolate Americano, it's awesome! read more

I stopped in here in desperate need of a coffee. I was pretty upset because I ordered a black americano and it tasted like hot water. There was no flavor to the coffee whatsoever. I'm not sure if their particular brand of coffee is weak in flavor, but I think the girl making the coffee didn't properly pour the shots well. I also don't like the way they price their coffee. Most mom and pop stands include the tax in their prices and usually round to the nearest quarter. The girl who served my coffee was friendly and the stand was gorgeous. Yeah 5 coffees in 4 days would make me a regular. I was in the area staying with a friend for the weekend who was just moving down there from AK. We NEEDED our coffee, and frequently more than 1 a day and the friendly baristas at Buffalo Espresso know what they're doing. Thanks to them for getting us through. I was a barista for a while so I know how I like my coffee and it's decent here but I have to say it's pretty inconsistent. I get the saaaame easy drink every time: iced white chocolate americano with cream. Sometimes they give it to me hot, sometimes they give me a chocolate Americano, sometimes I get an iced cup full of grounds, and sometimes I get the correct order but my cup is spilling coffee from the sides and nobody offers napkins. And now that I think about it there was one time recently when the barista assumed she could keep the change as a tip... I mean I was going to give it to her anyways but you don't want to be presumptuous in that situation. Idk. It's pretty hit and miss but it's the most convenient stand for me to go to, so I go. read more

This is a place you don't want to stop starting your day or send your young adults for sure! the barista was rude and the owner of this business offered a very poor respond, ( his name is Stewart). The barista ( Kayleen) appeared to the window with crossed arm without saying hi or good morning, that I was almost forgot what to order with this reaction and her explanation was: " I am tired", instead of apologizing. she couldn't handle being nice or saying Hi at 9 AM, and the owner was not responding by following up the situation, instead asking me has anyone else in your family/ friends has any bad experiences with her? This question of investigating me instead of responding/ solving the problem was super funny and very unprofessional for a business owner! I really don't care about the poor behavior of this business owner of labeling me with what he said! I was just not treated fair, right and appropriate! Be aware! I drive several miles out of my way, and pass no less than 3 other coffee stands, to buy my coffee here. The opening girls are by far the best baristas! Always greeted with a smile. Friendly chit chat. And by far, the best coffee around. Half of the time, my drink is ready by the time I get to the window. It's a great feeling being recognized and remembered. Beautiful ladies. The girls that work here are very sweet and I've seen the same girls working at this shop for many years. I've been going on and off for over a year. Love the flavored red bulls. Over the last couple months one of the ladies that's there in the morning has been very rude. She never smiles and is very short when you try to talk and be nice. The last time I went there this last week I got two big red bulls and said I had a free one since I had 13 punches on my stamp card. She was very rude and said that big red bulls aren't part of that. I said I've never been told that before in the last year. She said they would do it this time but can't don't it again. If I was told that over a year ago when I used my first full punch card on a big red bull I would have stopped going there, but I was never told that. I will never be going to this stand ever again and will be telling all my friends to not go here! read more

We stopped going here. I like my coffee extra hot and they will never give it extra hot. We will request after serving it to us, but it will still come warm. Still when we will request it 180 degrees. Last time I ordered and extra hot white chocolate mocha no whip. And the girl told me ,"Is that it?" with a face and an attitude. I avoid Starbuck's at all cost, and this is how I came to know Buffalo Espresso. Unfortunately, on a recent visit there I decided I will no longer go there due to the horrible service, and the horrible grumpies that work there along with their inability to get an order correct. We waited in line so long (walk-up window: do not ever use this!) that I even ended up changing my mixed drink to a (yawn) drip. It tasted like it was from the day before. But alas. The latest reason I will never go there? The lovely ladies that were working on July 19th (mid-morning around 10 maybe?) decided to take it upon themselves to charge a tip to my card! This just discovered as I was reconciling my bank statement today. Shame on you, girls that were working that morning. Everyone that knows me knows I tip and I tip well. You were intentionally NOT tipped. I wish I could give zero stars - the one star shall be in honor of their granitas, which are good. Too bad I'll never buy another one again. read more
