A new business acquaintance suggested we meet there and when we walked in, it was surprisingly empty. The manager was our server and he shared some history as he recently took over operating this location a year or so ago. He was well versed in wines and their wines were lower in sulfites so they were less tannic/dry, which is typically my preference in wines. He suggested a wine flight options if we wanted to try different wines, which was nice. We each told him our typical preferences and he created a custom flight for us. To me they were lighter and less bold than I prefer but it was good to try a few different kinds. She had two whites and two reds. I had four different reds. They have limited food options (i.e., two) so we ordered the hummus that was pictured with bread but they were out so they offered pita chips instead, which were fine. He did say that even though they had limited food options, we could order from El Dorado next door and they would walk it over when it was ready, which is very cool even though I typically don't think of Mexican food and wine going together. :-) The overall presentation of the food and glasses was more basic than I would have expected from a wine shop since I've done several wine tastings before, but the location is great and I look forward to checking it out again soon and trying some different wines!

Rosé Gosé (note accents) is in an unassuming Airport Blvd location (right next to Jewboy Burgers, an Austin favorite). It is run by a couple from Belarus that came here right after Covid to open up a restaurant, with a sister in Minsk. Defying expectations, the menu is not Balkan at all. If anything, there is a strong Asian influence with poke bowls and a lot of seafood. But the menu also offers beef tartare on their raw bar menu, as well as a steak offering and grilled chicken. It's a diverse and adventurous menu, all the way from small plates to hefty mains and vegetable sides. For the dessert, try the pavlova, a meringue confection stuffed with coconut mousse and topped with lime sorbet and a grapefruit slice sidecar. Everything is superbly presented, and unquestionably fresh and healthy without veering into twigs and berries territory. The cocktail menu is also playful, with a lot of nontraditional glassware and slight spins on popular drinks; their version of a Paloma uses prosecco instead of a splash of soda. The servers are all dressed in rosé jumpsuits and very attentive. The space is amiable and elegant without being pretentious. The table spacing is a little close, so that conversations carry between guests. The table setting has some nice touches, like the little wooden bench that holds your fork and knife off the table. In European fashion, water can be asked for but it won't be served with ice. Plan on taking your time and enjoying course after course.

Rosé Gosé was a delightful Mother's Day lunch spot. It is a whole vibe, and it is uniquely French! When we walked in an artist was playing romantic music on his keyboard, which set the tone for the brunch. It is a small restaurant inside with a larger area of seating on the patio. Of course, our reservations were inside in the comforts of air conditioning. You immediately notice a wine wall hence the name Rosé Gosé. The restaurant has many windows which provide lots of natural light. The tables house miniature yellow roses and utensils sat in a small wooden block...very French. All the servers were dressed in mauve clothing that resemble scrubs from a hospital. If someone stepped out in a French beret, I would have fallen over. Our server, Sergey, immediately served us water and took our order. The restaurant was highlighted as a modern European bistro. The atmosphere was charming, elegant, and stylish making it ideal for a Mother's Day brunch. My hubby ordered a ribeye, eggs and French Fries. I ordered the avocado toast with salmon and egg whites. While I'm not a huge red meat eater, I tasted a piece of the hubs ribeye and it was nicely prepared. My avocado toast was yummy to the nth degree! Everything was perfect. The avocado was precisely cut and at the right level of softness. The salmon was chopped into tiny little squares and so enjoyable to eat. We could not be more pleased. With a name like Rosé Gosé you would expect their drinks to be superb. My hubby ordered a hibiscus tea, which was delightful. I ordered a mimosa that had high quality ingredients and was perfectly balanced...so smooth. We were also pleased with the drinks. This was the first time at Rosé Gosé, however, it definitely will not be the last.

The hummus was so good. I love the pepper oil on top that gives it a little kick. It comes with pita bread but if you order more, it's an extra $3. We also got croquetas (ham and cheese fritters). There are four of them and they are sooo delicious!! This is a must get especially if you love warm and creamy stuff. The outside is nicely fried and if you never had it, it's similar to Japanese takoyaki. Although I love it a lot, the portion was just right for sharing because it really fills you up. We also got the potatoes (nice, but nothing that blew my mind) and chicken empanadas that I thought had a strange, sour taste. I wouldn't get that again. I highly recommend getting different tapas instead of the main courses so you can try different things. We were completely satisfied with the meal after getting these but still made room for the orange almond cake!! This was extraordinarily good!! Not too sweet and the cake has a nice moist texture-not dry. It took a while for food to arrive so service was a bit slow. You can also sit outside if you want but we sat indoors since it was chilly. It's a smaller restaurant so it's nice for an intimate meal or date. They have a bar. There's parking in the back, which is where the entrance is. I also just loved their overall vibe and how they made the experience feel so welcoming. We ordered a few appetizers: fried mozzarella, bruschetta, and meatballs. The fried mozzarella was so delicious! Crispy on the outside, cheese pull on the inside, and a nice marinara around it. The bruschetta was so refreshing! I loved how creamy the ricotta was and it was an overall amazing antipasti. My only complaint for that was that the toast was a bit too hard / crispy. The meatballs were like regular meatballs although on the larger side! I liked the sauce that it came with. We also had 3 pasta plates however I only remember the name of one of them. They were all delicious, though! Just by chewing all of the pastas, you can tell that they are all made in house. Perfectly chewy and the sauce is amazing! The rigatoni was so good with a hint of spice. You can't go wrong with rigatoni. We honestly walked into this restaurant thinking we wouldn't be full since the plates looked smaller but the plates were actually pretty deep! We all walked out spending $25 each and filled to the brim. All items were very good and they gave us a complimentary post card before we left. Neat place, I'll be back!

A Truly Unforgettable "Big" Birthday Celebration at Gusto…read more With Amber's help, I had an unforgettable "big" birthday celebration at Gusto in November 2024. I sent a personal thank-you email right after the event but realized I hadn't shared my experience publicly, so I wanted to ensure I did! Amber went above and beyond to make the evening an OUTSTANDING experience--from the thoughtful planning and preparation to the impeccable service and, of course, the exceptional food. Everything exceeded my expectations. Initially, I was concerned about selecting the right main course options for such a large group, but Amber's guidance was spot-on. She helped me choose the perfect Antipasti and Insalata options (the Fritto Misto was a standout), and then assisted in narrowing down the three main course choices--Lasagna, Alla Crema, and Texas Redfish. She even offered vegetarian options for the Lasagna and Alla Crema, ensuring that all my guests had something they could enjoy. Every single person found a dish they loved and truly enjoyed their meal. Amber was also a "partner in crime" when other members of my party wanted to surprise me with a singing telegram. :) I can't thank Amber enough for her attention to detail and for making everything run smoothly. Analise, our main server, was also phenomenal. As meetup event organizers, many of us have dined at many Austin restaurants and encountered our fair share of servers. But Analise truly stood out. She handled our large group with grace and efficiency, attending to every request without being intrusive. Her timing was flawless, and her attentiveness made everyone feel well taken care of--something rare and special in the restaurant industry. My guests complimented the service and the overall experience. I can't thank Amber and the entire Gusto team enough for making my birthday celebration such a memorable occasion. There's a reason our group has returned to your restaurant several times already, and we'll definitely be back with more friends in the future. Their hospitality and service are unmatched!

For the main, my friends got lasagna and bolognese, which they both liked. I got the quiet and absolutely loved it. It was stuffed with some flavorful, creamy(?), greens and the sauce was a yummy accompaniment - my absolute favorite meal that night. Service was quick and our server was so helpful. We do have to say that what this place lacks in food quality it makes up for in convenience with kid-friendly accessibility. We sat in the same general area outside so the kids could run around, and one of us ordered the "skinny marg" and she had to say that it was actually pretty good. Chips and salsa are still fine, as is the guac. One of us shared a plate of chicken fajitas with a friend, and while the portion was hefty, the food was quite greasy overall. The fried avocado tacos were a joke--they were so uninventive and the vibe was, like, "just throw whatever is vegetarian into that tortilla NBD!" Our server was, again, really sweet and we did have a good time here, but now our conclusion is final after a second visit: come here for a fun time with friends when the kids are around, but set expectations at a three and you'll leave satisfied enough.
