In response to Stephanie M. customer service Bud's Heating and Cooling. I was willing to just forget about this since I went ahead and hired someone else to take care of my problem. I am now going to respond to your reply. Bud's repair technician never went to the upper unit of this system he charged the lower outside unit with R22 fired he unit up it was cooling fine. The unit 4 months later was again out of R22 the upper unit is where the leak was not in the lower outside unit. Your tech never checked the upper unit but the person who brought into do this repair pointed out the upper unit and the it's condition an told me when the guy who you had here the last time I'll bet he never looked at the unit in your attic. My wife and I confirmed that he did not look at the other unit, simply because we would have had to show him were it was and how to get to it. So that being said the ball was dropped and the missed leak cost me and Bud's warranty is still worthless. I will bet nowhere on your tech report does it show him looking and searching for the dye in the upper unit. Sorry but your wrong the work was not done correctly and I paid the bill for it and now am paying again. Rich R. read more

Wonderful customer service from beginning to end. Everyone was so pleasant to work with and they even coordinated with my Condo Association to shut off water to restore my main water cutoff inside. I believe this company has a good reputation and genuinely cares about its service. However my situation can only bring me to providing three stars. Was told that I had a bad motor in my exchanger and so I agreed to a $400 service. After the service it was identified I needed another service it would cost four times as much. At the same time I also agreed to have my furnace exchanged. The job cost me over $4000. When the old furnace was taken out I was looking for all the damage that I was told the furnace had and I could not find any. In the back my mind I cannot help but think I was told I needed a $4000 piece of equipment when in fact I did not. The Takeaway be sure to get second opinions and be sure to double check the recommendations. Again I just felt there was an integrity issue involved in my transaction. My mom's central air went out this week and there has been turmoil and extra stress here because of it. We just signed with Bud's this morning. I won't be here to see the result but I want to drop 5 stars for Steve Morewitz anyway - he was here this week helping my mom. Super professional guy and sincere guy. We set up a round of three quotes from three vendors and selected the best one. We dismissed the first quote.. that guy was super rude. Then we dismissed the quote after him.. that guy was snooty and overpriced (by a LOT). This decision made itself. We went with Bud's because the price was excellent AND because of stellar Steve who is quite good with improvisational speech I might add. He was so kind to wear his mask at all times. I told him "it's not needed" and he kept it on anyway. Talk to him a bit.. he'll have you laughing.. that's still needed these days. You know? read more

I was looking to have my garbage disposal installed and happened to see Bud's magnet glued on the front page of my phone book. I called and in 40 minutes, Bob was at my house to give me an estimate. He explained the process and that I needed an electrician to first install the switch; not a problem, Bud's has electricians, too. Bob left and 5 minutes later I got a call from Bud's to schedule an estimate for the work. The next day Ben,the electrician, came out as scheduled. My kitchen was going through a renovation so there weren't cabinets to get in the way. They quoted me a price I couldn't refuse and offered to do the work then. In less than an hour they had cut through the wall and added the switch. The piece of sheetrock was neatly cut so as to make it easy to reinstall when they were finished. There was minimal mess but what was there they cleaned up. Awesome! Thank you! I will definitely use Bud's (Yorktown) again. read more

I called Bud's because I had a tankless water heater that no one in the area works on. Tankless water heaters are great and I highly recommend them if you're considering one. Just be sure it's one that can actually be serviced by someone in your area. This one was doing weird stuff that just made no sense. The main issue was the water heater wouldn't stay on when we used the shower or bathtub, but then the electronic ignition failed. We had to reset the circuit breaker several times daily. Bud's was willing to take a look, but told me up front they didn't think they'd be able to fix it, as it's an uncommon brand. I appreciated their honesty, and the fact that they were willing to take a look when no one else would. I made an appointment, but by the time the day came, I had changed my mind so many times about this water heater, I'm sure Angie was tired of hearing from me. Instead of working on the water heater, I asked to have my shower valve replaced. A different plumber had recommended to replace the valve. It was a pain. Quinn, the tech, had to cut a hole in sheet rock in my kitchen to get to it. He had to climb on the counter top and reach over the cabinet to get to it. I don't know how he managed, but he did, and he never quit smiling. He was happy to help. I happened to find some drywall in my closet, and he even covered the hole for me. Then he cleaned everything and even swept up my kitchen, since he had the broom, anyway. While he was working on that, I asked for an estimate to fix a clog in the drain for my washing machine and made an appointment for him to come out and fix it. He ended up replacing quite a bit of deteriorated pipe, which he didn't expect, but stuck very close to the original estimate. He was happy and energetic, and just so pleasant. While he was working on the drain, I asked for an estimate to replace the tankless water heater with a regular tank. I finally decided the tankless water heater has to go. If it's this hard to get serviced, there's really no point in having it. The estimate was about the same as others I've gotten. I asked for Quinn to come and replace it. He's here now swapping the water heaters out. He's smiling and helpful and kind, as always. We hit a minor snafu with financing. It wasn't my mistake or Bud's. The financial institution made an error, and I was having a hard time getting them to understand the problem. The admin team at Bud's took it on and found out the issue. They're working with the financial institution to resolve the problem. They could have told me it's between the financial institution and me, and that I'd have to handle it myself, but they chose to step in and help me. That means alot. Any company can have a good day and get a great review. I've called on them several times now, and they are consistent. Angie knows my phone number. I don't know if that's good or bad! Every time I've called, I've been treated with respect and a genuinely helpful attitude. The whole water heater issue has been a journey. I appreciate their patience as I kept changing my mind, calling to ask even more questions, and then finally making a decision. I could go on, but my point is, I would absolutely recommend them. read more

Fantastic service! Had a burst pipe in the ceiling of my garage. Tech was at my house less than two hours after my initial call and was super efficient and knowledgeable. The repair was quick and the price was fair (even including the emergency after hours charge). I would absolutely call them again. read more

Not happy with their service my ac was running fine and just happened to develop an overheating issue the excuse given was that the cooling coils are getting corroded utter nonsense i work in ships engineering and the coils at my house are quite ok the fix was to add some refrigerant not happy with their service that we pay for and of course recharging the system is an additional charge i do not recommend these folks check angies list first if you have an issue read more

Our furnace went out, wouldn't ignite. I called the company that we had used and was told they were only doing warranty work of 1 year or less. We had been using them for the 7/8 years, but because our furnace was older, they wouldn't come, THEY lost a customer. I called Bud's, because they are local and made an appointment with Andy. We made an appointment for Monday AM, ( it wasn't so cold he needed to come out on Easter) and took care of the problem. We kept 'social distancing' and all is good now. Our first call to Bud's was relieving. We called during an exceptionally hot wave, after hours, and despite their busyness, they still had someone who was able to be at our home within the time promised. Being skeptical of being taken advantage of, we were nervous about the cost and whether or not the person would be honest, quick and efficient. He definitely surpassed our expectations. We had a water heater that wasn't working.. After 2 1/2 days of getting no where with our soon to be ex home warranty company called Buds at 3:45 PM.. Explained to Angie what was going on, she responded with a great deal of urgently. She put me on hold and 2 minutes later told me that a tech would be at our house in 15 minutes. He arrived and problem solved in less than an hour. Thank You Angie and Bud you have a new customer. read more

We paid Bud's $16,000 approximately 4 years ago for a new system. We have had constant problems, including an issue where water was pouring through my ceiling and Bud's had to pay for someone to come out and drywall my ceiling. They came last week again to "fix" the unit. It is broken, my house is 88 degrees, and they told my husband who called this Friday morning that it would be an extra $140 for them to come out and fix it on an emergency basis. Oh, and let me add, we paid them $700 and joined their "warranty" program last week. We have been treated very badly and I am very unhappy with Bud's. read more

My nightmare with this company started back in the Summer of 2017. I waited to write this after the many visits and services during the past months were finished. Buds installed a Lennox unit for us about 4 years ago. In the summer, one of our rooms (large room above the garage) was not cooling so I called. This room has a separate thermostat. Technician came out and "cleaned" the outside unit. Nothing changed but the tech insisted that since the room is above the garage, it is never going to be very cool. I mentioned that we did not have this problem before, to no avail. But since the weather had cooled, I did not fret too much about it. A few weeks later I noticed water in the tray under the cooling unit; I called again. They came out and changed the cooling coil which was under warranty and persuaded me to take out a maintenance contract which would give me 20% off the invoice. By this time, the total cost had risen close to $1000. Then the cooler weather came, and the same room was not heating. When I called about the room not heating, they said that it would be another visit and another expense. According to them,"they had only fixed the AC, not the furnace". The technician came for the maintenance I had paid for, and said everything was fine. I mentioned that this room was not heating. He said it would take a while to heat up! It must have been a clue that when the cooling and heating are affected in the same room, maybe we need to look at the thermostat? I later paid someone else to check exactly this and the problem is solved. I did not call Buds after this. I didn't feel I could get anywhere with them after all the arguments I already had with them. They never felt that they could be in the wrong! In the meantime, I am left wondering what were all the visits and the expenses for. We have another unit that is 19 years old and working fine. This newer unit is only 4 years old. Buds claims that older units are made better and don't need as much maintenance !! Very unhappy !! read more

They came out straight away when I called, explained to me their fees and their contract. Since they replaced the part, we are covered with them (I believe for the next year?) and they'll come out. There's a diagnostic fee which isn't badly priced. They were quick, efficient, and had explained things to me so that I knew what was wrong, how they planned to fix it, and how much each step could / would cost. I recommend! read more

This company is awesome! From the receptionist who answers the calls and questions to the two GENTLEMEN who came and repaired two shower faucets! They worked their butts off trying to get those old and nasty faucets fixed and operating once again! Saved me a ton of money and aggregation! Very professional, caring and considerate to out needs! Since they came out to do my bi-annual maintenance on December 16th 2 years after my mew HVAC was installed, I have had to have them out to "repair' my system, at first, every 2-5 weeks, now, at least every 6 months to a year. The only reason to change was because the old system had old Freon and too expensive to repiar,,,, NEVER had this issue with the old system...PLUS EVERY TIME they come out they want to update something that has NOTHING to do with the current issue!! Don't recommend EVER!! read more

Quinn was excellent. He was very professional and and fixed our busted water pipe issue quickly. Due to the high volume of problems, throughout the area, from the snow/ice storm we couldn't get anybody to come out for another week. Buds was able to come out in 2 days. In riposte to their response, their records of course show multiple calls, but my cell phone call log shows only one at 2:07 saying the tech would be there in an hour. I'm sure the rest of their calls disappeared into the great Verizon cloud. Paying customers are the life of any business and you should never give them a run around especially when they are taking an afternoon off without pay to meet your technician. As for respect the wait staff, honest criticism of how they treat paying customers should be encouraged, you gain respect by being professional not by padding phone records. For those who think Bud's provides value. They charged me $215 to take 8 minutes to install a part. The same part is available from WalMart for $22 and the install consists of pulling off and shoving on 3 connectors. read more

Arrived on time. Serviceman knowledgeable and courteous. The only problem was that the garbage disposable installed was half the size of the one removed and water backs up much more often and consequently requires much more water to operate. At age 85 on a fixed income this is a concern so I avoid using it as much as possible. I called Bud's shortly after installation and again a week later with no action. I will replace when I save the money so I can use the disposable and not have outrageous water bills. read more

I had 2 estimates from this company. The first estimate was to resize my gas line to accommodate future and additional gas appliances. The guys for the gas line gave me a call before they arrived and came out right on time. They were friendly and full of good advice. The guys from my first estimate gets 4 stars. The second estimate was to install a whole house generator. My second experience is why I gave them 2 stars. I travel for a living. I made it very clear to the office that I would be driving 200 miles that Saturday to make the appointment. That I would call them if I ran into any traffic. The office said to just call the main number and leave a message, but they assured me that I would get a call before someone arrived. I allotted more than 4 hours to arrive in plenty of time for the estimate, but alas, I hit I-95 traffic. I immediately called the office and left a message that I was in traffic and that I doubt I'd make the 3:00 appointment, but that I'd do my utmost best to be close. As it was, I made it to the house by 3:20. I waited to hear from someone, I called their office, I never got a response from the tech or the office. The office called me and said that the techs were at my house at 3:00 but that some elderly lady shut the door in their face. I was not happy, I asked why I didn't get a phone call, I did everything I could do to make the appointment. She could not give me an answer as to why I did not receive a call from the tech to let me know that they were on their way, or that they were at the house, or that some strange person shut the door in their face. I said they obviously have so much business that they don't have to try very hard to get more. read more

We needed to upgrade our HVAC system as it was nearing the end of it's life. We called and got an appointment right away to have a salesman come out to discuss our options. Steve was fantastic. He listened, he answered questions clearly and concisely, and offered suggestions. He really worked with us to be sure we got the best system for our needs. I really appreciate that he took the time to answer all of our questions in plain English, instead of industry speak, and not talk down to us. Although we spoke with other companies, we chose Bud's and Lennox and are very happy we did. Installation was scheduled and, as luck would have it, it happened to be the day after Hurricane Michael rolled through when we and, most likely, the crew were without power. Marcus and his crew showed up on time, no excuses, and got to work. They were great. Very friendly and efficient. Luckily, we got power back during the installation and after they were done, Marcus did not leave until he showed us how the new system and thermostat worked. With the weather change, we didn't need to use our new system for quite a while after installation. We have now used it and it's wonderful! Sooo quiet. We're looking forward to a long relationship with Bud's and Lennox. read more

Bud's came to our house this past spring and stated that we needed some repairs done to our HVAC. They charged us over $600.00 and they installed an Air Filter in our Garage and of course they stated that we needed to buy the Expensive Filter. Then we were having some issues with our HVAC again, Bud's came out and the service guy was very rude and arrogant. He stated that we needed some new lines installed in our unit. He said that he would have to order a part and the cost to just do the repair would be over $600.00. The repairman stayed at our house for 2 hours which he sat in the work vehicle for an hour. He also took out one of the air filters in our house and I gave him a new one to put in and he didn't even bother. We called another HVAC company and they came out at NO CHARGE and checked out HVAC and said that BUD'S OVERFILLED THE FREON. The new company drained all of the excessive Freon and only charged us $185.00. Bud's ripped us off once and they tried again. It's very sad when all they want is your money. (So they can pay for their advertising). read more

HORRIBLE! I called them mid June for A/C not working. They came out on the 18th and spent 5 minutes looking at outside unit and stated it was the fan motor. $800 for repair. It was working but my thermostat kept blinking. When I called the office they told me since it was cooling that I should contact the Thermostat maker. Come that Friday night the A/C stopped working and I called the office and was told that the technician would call back. No call came and then Saturday night I noticed the circuit breaker had tripped and would go back on. My dad then called Sunday and they informed us they were having trouble getting the on call technician. Finally the office called Monday morning and said they could come that day between 3 and 6. I asked if it could be 4 or after as I had a Dr appt at 3:30. She stated it would have to wait for another day so I cancelled my appt so I could be home. Technician finally came at 7 pm. Gave a $3400 quote to repair the shorted terminals at compressor, new compressor and system evacuation. Thought about it and wanted a quote for a new system and they said they had to come back out, after 2 visits already. Very upset with Bud's and do not recommend for anything. Am having another company install a new system for the cost of their repair. read more

All of the service visits have been handled very professionally and the techs are personable and well trained. They offer a discount for any repairs with any of their services. I chose Bud's over 4 other companies that gave us estimates for a replacement of our 25 year old heating and air conditioning system. The Bud's comfort advisor was the only one that did a complete evaluation of the existing system including examining the return ducts in the crawl space. He also calculated supply and return capacity of the system, something none of the others did, and recommended an additional return air duct. We had a high efficiency system installed. Installation was done professionally and in a timely manner. Our house is more comfortable than it has been in years. read more

Very, very happy with the service I received from Bud's. They were recommended to me by a friend who is VERY persnickety. I figured that if he liked them, they must be great. And they are. The office staff is very friendly and getting an appointment quickly that fit my schedule was quite easy. I got a price quote on replacing all fixtures in my shower. The price I paid was exactly as quoted - no surprises. The plumber who came to do the work - Joe M. - was right on time, and I even got a call from the office letting me know he was on his way. Joe was friendly and respectful of me and my home. He did a fantastic job! The shower looks so great and the new fixtures are such an improvement. When he was finished, the bathroom was just as clean as when he arrived. You couldn't even tell he'd been there - except for the shiny new fixtures. I've added Bud's to my cell phone contacts and will be calling them for all my plumbing and HVAC needs. In fact, I've already got another appointment for routine AC maintenance. The quality of service is excellent. We recently replaced our entire AC system and from start to finish, the employees were exceptional. Chandler N. who conducted the initial inspection and handled the sales aspect of the process was extremely helpful and kind. He took the time to call and email me (as I handled the process on behalf of my mother who does not speak English well) to keep me informed of the process. He very respectful and kind in working with my family. He brought over a couple window AC units to use until the installation date. The guys who came out for the installation were professional and efficient as well. I couldn't have asked for a better experience for such a hefty home project. I recently had problems with the A/C in a rental property. It turned out I had to replace entire A/C unit and after getting 3 different bids Bud's was the by far the best choice-- not only in price and finance options but all around customer service and professionalism. As I don't live locally I wanted to find a company I could trust with this work. Steve was helpful and on the ball working with me and the person I have taking care of the property. As my tenant was temporarily without any air I wanted the work done ASAP. Steve told me that he would do all he could to put it at the top of the work list. I found out later that a technician named Chris went to the property after work that night to install a window unit free of charge until the system could be installed 3 days later. He was there until 10 pm!-- that is excellent customer service and my tenant was so appreciative . Also my property manager communicated to me that Patrick and Drew who installed the system were on time, professional, courteous and did an outstanding job installing the entire system quickly. Overall Bud's did a lights out job and I am a very happy satisfied customer. I highly recommend them. read more
