Bud's damaged my brand new wheels back in March, Bud took care of the situation and I felt comfortable taking my truck back, well took my truck back 2 weeks ago to get some new tires mounted and they scratched my wheels even worse than before. I even got different lug nuts and changed them before going back to Buds. I came in to get a leak in my tire fixed. The guy said it would be about an hour and a half wait. I couldn't wait that long. He said I could drop by tomorrow, and he asked what time I could be there and I said I'd drop by around 10. He said great. I came in at 10 today. They said it would take 2 hours because there were a bunch of people in front of me. I told them what they said yesterday and that didn't change anything. They finished on the first day which is awesome (2 tire exchange) because you know how it can go somewhere else. Took my Honda here for radiator repair and recieved exceptional service from every member of the team that I encountered. I'm not a "car person," but nobody made me feel uncomfortable. I spoke to more that 4 different team members by phone and in person, and each was kind, patient and helpful. Previous ownership I bought lifetime alignment. I called to verify before I took my car in to be aligned based on a family member's experience and being told they were no longer honoring lifetime alignment bought under Bud's. Was told via phone that as of November 15, they confirmed they were no longer honoring lifetime alignment. I will no longer be using this money hungry greedy establishment. Came in to get a new tire which was 300 dollars after all the taxes , seems a bit expensive but I hit a pothole in the street the night before and needed a new tire asap. The customer service was okay and they got my tire put on in about a hour . But they didn't inform me that my rim was bent , instead they just put the new tire on letting me drive off. On my way home going about 30 mph on a street , I went over a dip in the street and my tire instantly went flat ! You would think they would let you know those things to save THEIR time and tires and to save YOUR time from having to come back ! read more

I just picked up my car after a simple oil change and my check engine light came on. Probably something very simple they did but since I've had this car for about 2 years with no incidents and this is the first time seeing the light in this car, I'm just hoping not to hear "it isn't anything we did," because obviously, it is. Based on all the good reviews, I'm expecting to get this all cleared up tomorrow. Tomorrow came and it's just as I expected. I stopped by and they checked the car while I waited. The connection to the air filter was just loose, so I was in and out in about 5 minutes. This is the second car I've taken to Bud's. The first had several issues so I took it back to the dealer who sold it to me who took care of the work at wholesale cost since we've bought all our cars from him over the past 20 years, but his mechanic did confirm all the problems pointed out here. This time, I was told there were no mechanical issues but that the rear brakes would probably need to be replaced on my next visit, so just in case you're wondering, they don't magically find something wrong with your car every time you bring it in. Overall, I've been pretty happy with Bud's. They can take a while to get to your car but I'm guessing that's because they do a good job and have a lot of work. I have seen some complaints about pricing here and I guess they are probably in line with most chain stores like Goodyear or Firestone, which is why I use a different place for any major work. No offense to Bud's, they're convenient but they're not cheap. I'll pick up milk at a convenience store, but I won't do all my grocery shopping there. In response to Bud's comment, I do find them to be competitive in general and appreciate their price match, but when the repairs are up over $1,000, I have a place that tends to be the lowest because they are located in San Bernardino in a questionable neighborhood. I tend to go there because they have saved me hundreds of dollars in the past, but if Bud's will match their price, I'll definitely go with them. Came for alignment and brake job. Had to come back 1 week later, steering wheel had to be turned to the left slightly to travel straight. Had to have second alignment to correct. Back again 6 months later to have the brand new rotors re surfaced, when I asked why so soon.. "this happens sometimes." Back again 6 months after that for once again warped front rotors.. when I asked if there could be an issue with dragging of the pads they used, worker replied he didn't have the information to tell me what kind of pads were even used... wanted 200$ to re surface... that would be two separate re surface jobs on a brand new set of rotors in 1 year time. Warning: Unless you like your money being stolen, being talked down to and taken advantage of, and dealing with shady business practices DO NOT GO HERE!!! I needed two tires changed and a brake check/repair, simple. I called 5 whole days ahead saying I was going to bring my car in Saturday, as I was moving across state that Sunday night they assured me it would be done by then. I get there and explain my situation, zero paper work, no estimate (which is illegal in California!) and again, I was reassured the work would maybe even be done that day and they'd call me with updates. Next day, no calls, no updates. I reached out to the shop and the guy at the desk seemed annoyed I called and was very vague "Well it might be done today I'm not sure we might need to hold it another night" Are you serious? I was reassured 3 times and STRESSED to them that I was moving and my car was critical. It does not take three days for a tire change, if you can't handle the volume for someone 5 days in advance let them know. Again I told the employee I needed my car and I could pick it up if they couldn't get to the brakes, again he promised an update. An hour before closing, no call. I called back NEEDING my car, again, the guy was annoyed "I already talked to your wife this morning" No, it was me, and if you don't update me on what's happening of course I'll call wondering where my car is!! Finally my car was ready... or so I thought (It's just getting good!) I picked it up, they gave me the bill which seemed a little high.. I glanced over it once I got to the car,. They charged me for OPTIONAL insurance for the tires, $78 total. Then another $66 for "roadside coverage"! (Btw Buds, every single person with insurance has zero need for this) So they stole $140 from me WITHOUT A SINGLE MENTION OF IT!! Might as well have stolen it right from my wallet, pure robbery. You'd be pretty upset, but guess what? The issue I brought it in for, squeaky brakes, still happening! They didn't mention a single thing about the brake inspection, how it went, nothing. There was work to be done, they didn't do it. So I brought my car in for an hours worth of work over 48 hours and was charged $430 in "labor and insurance" on top of the $400 for tires. Never going back, told every single person I know in riverside to ignore this place, and if you're reading this I highly recommend finding another place unless you want to deal with being robbed for your money and needing to go to a different shop. read more

I have not driven my car since coming home from the tire shop and when pulling it out of the garage today i noticed that both front wheels had been damaged when they replaced the tires. I've been a customer of Buds over 15 years, originally at the Indiana location but started using the Wood Rd location after they opened. Their quality has really gone down hill & I DO NOT recommend them for anything other than tires. Last time I had brakes done there, whatever brand of pads they used were such inferior quality, they lasted less than 15k miles. Before that, my original pads lasted over 100k miles. Most recently, I had a small leak in my rear differential. They changed out the pinion seal and gasket, which cost several hundred dollars. I noticed later it still had a small leak, so I took it back since it was still under warranty. They said they didn't see a leak, but after I had them keep it all day, they saw it. They said they needed my car for a few days to fix THEIR mistake.. no offer for a rental car. While they have it this 2nd time, they call and tell me now it needs another pinion seal and a new yoke... for another few hundred dollars, which was suspect but I'm stuck at this point. They did agree to deduct the cost of the 2nd seal since I did just pay for one the week before. Well, that seal was a fail too. I immediately had a leak, and differential oil had saturated the rear differential, the exhaust pipes and other areas on the underbody. I had to drop it off for the 3rd time & they had to change the seal again because they apparently damaged it while installing the previous one. They also said they would clean the rear underbody areas that were covered in the oil due to their faulty install. They didn't honor that because I got it back still covered in oil with a few spots that looked wiped with a paper towel. So, three trips to fix one issue, several days of no vehicle, an oily mess and way more money than the original estimate, no offer for a rental, no offer for a discount for their shoddy work. Definitely downhill after Bud retired & no local owner anymore. Use caution. read more

They ordered me rims, they said it would come in 4-5 days. I wait a week and give them a call and they told me that my rims are at the Moreno Valley shop. So they told me to come in the next day and they would get the rims before I got there so everything was ready. I got there at 9am and I got a call at 3pm saying they don't have my rims. Had rotors replaced last year, but not the brake pads. The brake pads were replaced many years ago with quality ceramics at another shop that is no longer around, but I rarely drive the car so the pads should have been about half way worn. Brakes started making a grinding sound when stopping sometimes but not always after the rotors were replaced. I finally went to have it checked out along with an alignment and was told my brake pads are cracked and should be replaced. Sounded odd, but then there was also a list of other items to repair even though I just had them fix a bunch of items on the same vehicle less than a year ago. This car gets 3,000 miles a year so it shouldn't have issues with the same parts area after less than 12 months. I digress. The rep was trying to tell me my pads were cheap and got too hot and cracked. I thought it was odd 6 year old brakes weren't cracked until Buds worked on them and I always buy quality parts as it is not worth a few buck to buy cheap brakes so I was confused as it didn't sound right. After talking to the rep in person I've come to the conclusion that they replaced the brakes without authorization and put cheap ones back on when they replaced the rotors. There's no record of the brakes being touched so he blamed me for the bad brakes and essentially said the other mechanic who put them on is liable for the warranty. Since Bud's touched it and replaced the brake pads without authorization, that would be Bud's who should fix the issue. The other $1000 in new work they found to do did not give me a good feeling. They wanted ~$300 just to replace the front brakes which were just worked on less than a year ago by them. I don't know why the rep thinks I would replace the brakes myself AFTER they did all that brake area work. There's no notes in the paperwork that they recommended new brakes so that would be a lot of time, energy and money for me to try and cheat Bud's to swap out $30 brakes with $50 brakes. Middle aged adults who live in Woodcrest don't scam businesses for better brake pads. So they do unauthorized work and then take no responsibility. Also, they replaced the coil pack and tried to sell me new spark plugs for close to $200 during the original job. I told them to not replace the spark plugs during the coil pack replacement because spark plugs are easy to swap out and not worth the $200 charge. It's $60 for 4 and just requires a socket set wrench to take them out. Not worth $140 to have someone else do. Anyways, I checked the other day and sure enough, there were all new Bosch double iridium spark plugs in all 4 coils instead of the original Denso set that came with the car. The rep said that they did not replace the spark plugs per his records so the originals should be in the car. To me it's clear what happened, but I was treated as though I was trying to steal $50 worth of brake pads. I told the rep I was willing to work with them to keep the business relationship because they were great to deal with prior to last year. Finally, on my other car, I had them replace shocks the same week as the other car was worked on. Big mistake. Before they took the vehicle, the passenger side hot air diverter worked. After the work, the diverter no longer worked. This is an internal part (not the diverter in the dashboard) which is near the center console where they would have had to access to replace the struts. Once again, you can't prove they replaced the brake pads or spark plugs so if they break your vehicle and it's not listed in the service, it's on you. I would have paid for the premium pads at their mark up if they covered the 30 minutes of labor costs to replace the front brakes and still be a customer, but the rep said I don't go there enough so essentially he doesn't value my business. I should have trusted my gut when this place was sold to a corporate owner and found another shop instead. The original owner ran the place well and my car was worked on when it was being transferred over so was it a disgruntled employee? Not my problem; moving on to another shop... read more

They made sure all my car was in mint condition. Be sure to book an appointment. You can just show up but you will likely get your car inspected if you make an appointment. I prefer to go as early as possible so that my car can be finished my mid afternoon. They are quick and efficient and truly want you to feel confident that your car is running smoothly. I took my old Porsche garage queen to Bud's on Wood Street on April 22 for new tires and an alignment. I'm VERY picky about this car, and I know it is easy to scratch the wheels when mounting tires. Bud's had special ordered the exact tires I wanted, and mounted and balanced them perfectly, from beginning to end. I was greeted politely and professionally when I arrived. Everyone was wearing a mask, and the few seats in the waiting area were spaced well apart, so I felt safe and comfortable. After the tires were mounted, Manny Bautista, who is a noted expert in Porsche alignment, did the front and rear suspension alignment, and gave me a print-out showing the measurements, verifying that everything was exactly correct. After I got the car back home, I verified the tire pressures and lug nut torque, and once again looked the wheels over carefully. Everything was perfection! And the prices were excellent, too! They told me my tires were too big for my vehicle yet a year or two ago they sold me the tires and rims. Luckily, I have some knowledge on tires so I was not a fool. Called and asked for a quote, they told me the price then said we dont have it in stock but we can have it here by tomorrow. I ask what time do you get your deliveries? I say yes but they dont wanna have me on hold for any longer. So they ask for my number and tell me theyll call me right back. Fast forward 5 hours later, still no call.
