I was immediately greeted by the shop's friendly dog though was completely ignored by the other staff. I overheard the other custoners receiving warm greetings and thought when they left the shop, perhaps staff would be more solicitous. However, I wasn't assisted for at least 15 minutes after the other guests left. It's pretty surprising in the customer service industry. When it came to trying on an item, the staff just pointed at the dressing room and said "over there." One staff member, presumably the owner, did provide information about the polish ceramic items after I'd been pursuing for a while. Overall, this shop has a nice assortment of items and is pleasantly appointed, though could improve in customer service.

The part of the store with the counter, the register and the high-end display items look like they might belong on Fifth Avenue - if they dealt in such things, I suppose. I found all of the staff to be incredibly helpful and polite, and were even willing to negotiate a bit on their prices. (I try not to push that envelope in such places, it seems and feels a bit tacky or low-class.) Most of the items are really nice, and the rougher items still fit into the "shabby chic" range - and are priced accordingly. The layout of the store invites you to explore, and there's not a whole lot of categorization (I prefer this method). The nice thing about the store is that A.) they have sporadic updates on Facebook, and B.) they're surrounded by other antique stores. While the competition are bit more plain, it's nice that you can shop from store to store. The other shops nearby range from very rough (found/discarded items), to true rustic antiques, to an auction shop/antique mall. I spent nearly an hour and a half browsing the store, and felt bad I couldn't walk away with anything - but did find a nice shelf/side table across the street for $15. The due date on my receipt was 12/10/2022 and the order was not completed until 1/21/2023. This would have been ok, IF the owner would have periodically touched base to report the status of filling the order. I gave this small business this order as a test as I have other artwork that needs framing, but due to NO communication during this order, I will no longer be giving them any business. When I stated the issue with the owner when finally retrieving the work she did apologize BUT did NOT offer any discount or compensation for waiting on the order. She stated she didn't have enough staff and couldn't afford additional help. She could easily hire a high school or college student at minimum wage to work the store or atleast make phone calls to provide status updates while she focused on the framing work. The owner is friendly and a nice person, but as she says, her business skills are lacking. I hope you have a better experience than I did, if you choose to get work done here.

As an observer: My problem is with the owner who has no business protocol and does not know how to talk to customers or handle unhappy customers. I saw this women - the owner - in action. Her behavior was deplorable. She's abrupt, sarcastic and cold. As a customer: I consigned a number of items with this store. The entire transaction was highly unprofessional. My check came two weeks late with no explanation. It was also incorrect with the excuse that "we broke your lamp, couldn't sell it." No call or communications regarding the incident. Gave an outright lie as to when the check was sent out. I have eyes and could clearly see the date was four days later than they had told me on the phone. Oh boy...there's more, much more, but let me wrap this up and give potential customers some solid, truthful advice. Stay away. don't shop or consign here. There are far better places with nicer stuff, better pricing and people who know the meaning of fair business practices. I thought long and hard about taking them to small claims court but what a waste of time. The best thing to do is warn any and all prospective shoppers to simply stay away.
