Upon Miguel's arrival, he offered to show me various Shutters and Blinds; but I was set on "white Plantation Shutters." I found Budget Window Coverings through Yelp. I sent out 3 requests from other companies. Within a matter of minutes, I received an email from Budget Window Coverings. I always look at the first responder to be the ones that will give good customer service. I then contacted them via phone....and they were able to book an appointment for me immediately (I think it was the same day). I committed to getting at least 2 quotes. But the other company were few days out before they can see me, which was fine. So I booked that one as well, just in case Budget is not a good fit. I then had Miguel come out and do an estimate. He came all the way to my temporary digs in Oakland to let me pick samples, and turned a potential problem into my advantage. One of my large blinds arrived with some slight damage. He got it replaced promptly, and suggested a way I could re-use it in another window to provide even better darkening. His price was very reasonable for doing my whole house, and he was able to understand and fulfill my special requirements for a home theater. (When I say dark, I mean dark.) The honeycomb shades he provided not only block light completely, but add R value to the windows and block sunlight, saving me money on air conditioning.
