Was late one hr to drop off vehicle (traffic). Arrived at 2 pm. Place closed at 1 pm. Dropped off vehicle next morning and they charged me another day. When I informed them of my situation they just dismissed it and went along with charging me another day. Was my 1st time at this location and my last. I should of reviewed this yelp before. If I could give zero stars I would. My reservation was due to be returned to this location at 5pm. It clearly states that on my paperwork as well as when I looked at my reservation online to confirm drop off..I arrived at the location at 4:50pm and the office was already closed. I was knocking on the door as I saw a light was on. I tried calling multiple times no answer. I called customer service which gave me 2 options keep the car until the next morning or attempt to drive to the Corona location which closed at 6pm. Opted to keep the car until the next morning. Returned it 9am. The workers were rude, unprofessional, and would not listen. Despite my reservation clearly stating 5pm drop they continued to say I was going to be charged an additional day plus late fees. The males stated we close at 5pm. Ok I was there 10 mins prior and if 5pm is closing then my drop off should have been at 4:30pm. I held up my end of the contract and was on time for drop off they are the ones who decided to close. This place is awful. They care only about money and charging extra despite their own business ethics. Stay away. I will look into making formal complaints with the BBB and licensing and ethics borad. Improvements needed with cleanliness, maintenance and safety inspections of their vehicles. picked up was not very clean, I had to wipe down the inside of van and clean the cup holders and trash still left under seats. Returning from trip the tire was making a loud noise like it was a flat but no issue observed from the outside until checked under the vehicle and noticed two bald tires with wires hanging out and shredded, the tire was ready to blow out.. called store to inform of issues they advised to take and drop off van at a local budget location for an exchange. I returned vehicle no sympathy compassion or concern for the safety of me or my family members that were traveling with us, not even a discount offered for my troubles, it could of been way worse or tragic. I came here on a Friday after getting turned away from another rental company after booking online and arriving to the office to be told they had no cars. It was last minute because my car broke down and I needed a car to get to work. I rented from Avis, using the AARP website. When I called the office to double check they told me to book online rather than in the office for a better price (I appreciated that) and they guaranteed they would have a car for me. Once I arrived The checkout process in the office was smooth with no issues. I was given a new car and it was clean inside and out. I returned it several days later with no problem. If I could leave a negative 5 stars i would. Not only did this location let me drive off the lot with a non-working vehicle (the computer went out and the brakes failed with my three year old in the car in the middle of the freeway) that left us stranded in the middle of the desert on our way to Las Vegas, the manager tried to excuse the situation by saying if we had purchased their insurance we would have been serviced faster. Then he tried to have me pay for the rental saying the best he could do was give me a discount. Picture it, three year old in the back car failing, brakes failing and roadside assistance could not get us a new car or ride to our hotel. As a last resort, we ended up having to call my sister who had just arrived to Vegas to turn around and pick us up because it was midnight and no tow truck or pick up had been dispatched to us. This Avis location is the absolute worst. Javier has absolutely no idea what he's doing. He will add ridiculous charges to your rental and make it impossible to maintain a working relationship. He'll try and screw you over every chance he gets...I had been driving a full size sedan for nearly a month and was able to keep renewing the contract every week. Unfortunately, I ended up getting a flat on a Friday night and had to use the spare to get home. I couldn't accept rides on usually the busiest night of the week. Oh well...thats life... I get it. So I take the car in next day on Saturday morning thinking I'll be able to get a comparable vehicle, only to be told that they only have 1 vehicle available for "Uber drivers", (which oh btw are usually the standard, older, vehicles, parked in the back row of the parking lot...) Okay, fine, whatever right...it just a car for work...who cares...So the car steering wheel was covered in brown grease, which was also caked all up on the sun visor and rear view mirror. Yikes! But the the worst part was the fact that the check engine light was on, putting me back where I started again. Unable to take riders again now on Saturday and Sunday. Finally, on Monday morning I go in to exchange the car, Javier rents me a car with blacked out rims, less than a quarter tank of gas, cheap window tint that was never even cut, leaving the excess film just hanging down....when I asked if he had anything else available he of course said no... Not only that, he tells me he will give me a "good car" for the my troubles... ...the car had awkward drug dealer vibes and honestly made me apprehensive about accepting rides because of the unsightly state of the cars interior. I basically had to explain away the cars shortcomings to every rider I had throughout the week.. which wasn't fun. Fast forward to the next Monday and I return the car. However, Javier charges me for Saturday and Sunday. Even though I couldn't even use the car that was given because it had a check engine light on, and it was absolutely filthy inside. Further, Javier rented the car to me on Monday and I returned in on Monday. Avis needs to do better. Get rid of this idiot and bring Muhammad back. He understands how to not screw over paying customers and completely lose any chance of doing business with them again in the future. read more

I should have read the reviews before renting from here. When I initially went to pick up my car it was getting close to closing time they didn't have a car ready for me keeping in mind that this was a reserved car. They gave me a car that had some kind of residue that could not be removed off the windshield causing me to have limited visibility. I returned the car the next day and had the distinct displeasure of meeting and dealing with Javier. Javier should never be dealing with the public. He is rude and condescending. He offered me three different options all of which were substandard, either they were filthy or they had cracks in the windshield causing me to lose time from my business. I canceled my contract and got a brand new rental in immaculate condition from Alamo at the airport. Never ever will I do business with Avis again, nor would I ever recommend this Avis/Budget location to anyone. Avis corporate will be hearing about this. Management needs to reconsider who they have working with the public and they need to step up their game in providing, clean, safe vehicles. The times listed aren't reflected anywhere on the website when booking nor are they listed online when googling or yelping the hours of operation. I booked a reservation for 4:30 with no problem, made it to the branch by 4:46 (due to traffic) and was welcomed to a locked door with the lights on inside but no visible employees around. I called the branches phone but it of course just rang...I also knocked a few times and still got nothing. Didn't acknowledge me until I said loudly "hellooo?" One lady came out, I told her I had a reservation, and she kept relaying what I said back to the other person, and vice versa- come to find out, she didn't work there. The real employee then finally asked me for a reservation number and then informed me she has no vehicles. I asked her suggestion of what to do, or where to go, she didn't give me any other response than "go somewhere else." Which I did. Booked through Enterprise. Better service at a much higher rate. If I could give this location zero stars, I would. I made a reservation for a simple, economy compact car four weeks before my trip to Cali. Literally, twenty hours before I'm supposed to pick up this vehicle, I received a mumbled voicemail from the manager (I'm assuming) telling me that there were no cars available to pick up, they overbooked, and that I needed to contact customer service. After searching GOOGLE for their customer service number, I was told there were no cars available to pick up in the entire Inland Empire. When I suggested a different town, it was going to be an extra $200 on top of my reservation... I've used Budget in the past, on many occasions, but after this experience, how negatively it impacted my trip and also how little they cared about a returning customer, I'll never use their services again. We came to pick up the car we had reserved for over a month, and the lady working here Terry was 9n her personal cell phone for at least 3 minutes while I was waiting. Then got off and proceeded to wipe down the whole shop for 15 minutes before I could get any help, and that was only because I asked her "should I come back". She got defense and said why, when I proceeded to explain that I had people waiting in the hot sun/car outside (97 today) she told me it would take her 2 hours to finish cleaning before she could help me with my reservation even though we were scheduled. After noticing the shitty reviews, I decided to give this place a try, due to the other rental places that are local we're booked, I am actually relieved I didn't end up choosing this company. I get there around 9:20 in the morning and they open at 9 mind you...but when I get there, a sign is posted that whoever is working will be back at 9:30... ok weird because you just opened but whatever it's only a few minutes I can wait. Fast forward to around 9:45 I'm getting a little antsy because I need to get to class and I need a car. Let's just say I ended up wasting more time by staying until 10. So she takes off the unlimited miles - gas charge, now it's $776. Still much higher. I showed her a pic of my online agreement. She said 'it is $396'. Absolutely ridiculous. Horrible experience at this location. Pick up time was 10:30 on a Sunday. Got there at 10:30 and the intermediate SUV was not ready. They told us it would be about a 10 minute wait. 45 minutes later they pulled up with a soaking wet Nissan Rogue. The guy opened the door and the overwhelming smell of marijuana almost knocked me over. We requested another vehicle, but were told that was the only one available. Left and went straight to the store to get air fresheners and febreze. Nothing helped so we drove straight to Ontario airport to exchange. Fast forward a week when returning the vehicle - they indicated that I would be charged $40 more than the agreed upon price. They couldn't give me an explanation, and just directed me to Ontario airport Avis. That is when the employee James butted in. He stated the contract was closed and it's just too bad, and I would have to call customer service. I started that wasn't the agreed on amount and that they needed to do a discount or call customer service right then and there because I wasn't walking out of there posting $40 more. James began raising his voice. I asked what his name was and last name. He stated he didn't have to give me his last name. So I asked for an employee number, which he stated he didn't have one. I asked who the manager was and he said he wasn't at liberty to give me that information. Finally the other employee gave me the name Joey as the manger. James stalked off to the back and slammed the door. I ended up calling customer service and had the charge corrected. The company I work for has been a client of Budget for years. We have never had a problem at all until last week. I normally reserve a car at the Rancho Cucamonga Budget where I have never had any problems. I didn't realize there was an office in Upland, which is just down the street from our work, so I asked that my car be reserved in Upland for Friday at 9 a.m. I arrived to pick up the car at 9:05. The office was locked up. I looked inside and there wasn't anyone around. I waited another few minutes and then I knocked on the door. (There was no door bell.) A girl comes out from the back, looks up and heads towards the door from the back, as she is walking, she is looking down at her phone. She opened the door and the first words out of her are, "I thought you were the police." I said, "The police?" She said, "Yea. The way you were banging on the door." (She said all this while never looking up from her phone.) I told her I was knocking, not banging. She said, "No. You were banging." I never heard "Good morning. I'm sorry for keeping you waiting. Come on in." She went behind the counter and started to assist me. Each time I had to sign something or complete something, she'd pick her phone back up and she would text or whatever. I think it was Youtube, because she had it on speaker and commercials would come on. We finally went outside to a mini van that I did not order. I reserved an SUV. She said they were all taken. I told her I reserved it one a week before and she told me that the others who reserved an SUV, reserved them for a longer amount of time. Wow. So sorry my measly two days wasn't long enough for them. She gave me a paper and said, "Sign here." I said, "I'm normally asked to walk around the car to make sure there is no significant damage." She said, "You don't have to." I told her I would anyway. When I brought the car back on Sunday, I was seen by a young man. He was very nice and helpful. I told him about the girl and her poor customer service. He apologized and he said her name is Cherokee and he has gotten a lot of complaints about her. In the future, as convenient as it is to reserve a car from the Upland office, I will drive farther to the Rancho Cucamonga office where they are friendly and provide excellent customer service, and more importantly, where I know Cherokee will not be working. read more

The Budget/Avis car rental in Temecula gets 1 star for EXTREMELY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE. I picked the car up from Temecula, and it was filthy, with fast food cups/bags, fur, debris everywhere, completely filthy. Never have I rented a car so disgusting. I did not have a good experience with this place. At lot of miscommunication between the employees. I made an online reservation. When I arrived around 3pm the young lady at the front desk "manager" seemed irritated did not explain absolutely anything just wanted us out. Said when dropping of the car I could leave the key inside of the car.( this particular car won't even lock) as soon as I drove away oil change light came on, car was suppose to be a non smoking vehicle and it smelled like cigarette very badly. I attempted to get a hold of them and it was nearly impossible. Upon dropping the car off ( at an earlier time because I did not feel comfortable leaving the keys inside) systems were down and I was as not even able to get a receipt. The guy on the front desk truly did try to send it through his personal email. Also, told me how that was false information that I received about leaving the key inside from the "manager". Hands down THE WORST experience I have ever had with any rental company. I made a reservation through my company's corporate discount site over a month ago with Enterprise.I checked rates 2 days ago and found this place had a similar SUV for almost $150 cheaper. I cancelled my reservation wit Enterprise and made a reservation with this Budget location. I get to this location at about 3:30pm today 6/5/19. The woman there who claimed to be a manager starts checking my reservation. I can tell there's a problem right away because it's taking longer than normal. She then proceeds to ask me "did anyone call you to confirm your reservation?" "No," I said. I didn't receive any calls. She then makes a call to someone and tells me her employee "forgot to call me." Then the bad news. "We don't have that car available." "OK," I said, "what do you have?" "We don't have anything", she tells me. "You can go to another location but they only have a mini van and you'll pay $200 more" I then ask her why I am going to have to pay more when I have a reservation that they screwed up. She then says it's because I made a "last minute reservation." I don't understand, I thought a reservation means you have a car available and I'm placing a hold on it. The whike time she's giving me attitude. Never once did she apologize for the error or offer any solution. I ask her why she's giving me attitude when I'm the one with no car for an 800 mile trip I'm leaving for at 5 am. The employee or "manager" as she called herself then proceeds to yell at me and tell me "we're done here." She the goes into the back room and stays there. This is the worst experience I've ever had and Budget has lost a customer.
