It's probably my fourth time renting from here, and I have to say I will continue to do so. My only issue is that they have banker's hours. So if I need to rent on a Sunday or late hour I go through the one at Ontario Airport. This location, which is in the same strip mall as Outback Steakhouse, is very convenient and has a decent selection of vehicles. There is never a long wait, and the staff is friendly and professional. read more

They're the same crooks that operate budget. Avoid at all costs. They screw their customers. They will screw you if you rent from them. Run away. Call an Uber. Hitchhike if necessary but do not rent from Avis/Budget. You'll regret it. Months after the rental they'll charge your card for imaginary damage or cleaning charges. Fill it up a block from the airport and they'll try to charge you over $100 for gas. They're crooks. Stay away. read more

They are not cooperating with Uber rentals and require you to book through their website. This place is a scam.

I rented a car from this location and received the worst customer service I can ever remember. I would tell you the name of their horrible employee, but she never seems to wear a name tag (I wouldn't wear a name tag either if I were her). She made my life miserable on two separate occasions. The first time I was at this location with her, she was extremely angry with me; she blamed me for exchanging a large SUV which I received from this Upland location (they've moved from Montclair) for a compact car. I made the exchange at their Irvine location. She told me that they rarely received SUV's from corporate, and I gave away one of the location's most in-demand cars. There is no way she should have bothered me with her complaint. First of all, I was totally unaware that I had given away their prized SUV. Second of all, that is not my concern. My only concern was getting the car I wanted, and her only concern should have been making her customer happy. She had absolutely no interest in making her customer happy, and it showed. When I returned the car a week later, she gave me more grief. To make a long story short, this woman gave me more grief than she had a week earlier. During our conversation, she told me two things I will never forget. First she told me that I wouldn't have argued with her if she wasn't a woman. When I was leaving, I asked her if she thought I had received good customer service from her. Her response was, "I don't kiss anyone's ass", That quote just about sums up my customer service experience. She wouldn't go one inch out of her way to help a customer. FAIL. read more

Gal shows up late to work at AVIS/BUDGET and gives everyone grief for being impatient. Attitude, lethargic and slow. Rents out a car to a guy in front of me and tells his it's not washed or clean, and it'll cost you $50 more. Oh...and she talks like Kat Williams. Which actually made the situation funny to me. read more

Who the heck receives a rental car with only a half tank of gas?!!! They gave me a car with a half tank of gas and asked me to verify and sign for that reading. I rented the car to drive to Vegas and after 150 miles the car was empty and I had to refuel in the middle of the fricking desert. What kind of service is that? I will also mention the car had not been cleaned. Trash in the armrest compartment and dirt on the floor mats. When I returned the car several days later, the owner / manager "Vito" would not give me a printed receipt for the settled charges. He said the initial print out, was the final receipt. I pointed out to him, the paper even says, "Estimated Rental Charges" WTF? read more

Shit customer service. They also have a "glitchy website". Booked a last minute rental, showed they had availability. Got dropped off here and waited for about 15 minutes for the employee to show up just to tell me they have no cars available. What made me more irritated was she told me she called me and left me a vociemail saying there were no cars. False...there was no such call or voicemail left. She then tells me I have to call their 1800 # myself to get a refund. She was basically trying to get rid of me. Told me there are availabilities at another avis nearby...she''s 100% sure. Thank goodness I called and confirmed there were NO cars available there either before I ubered myself there since there is only one employee here and they dont provide transportation services. After reading some of the other reviews..guess it is a common occurrence here for them to show they have availabilities on their avis.com website and not have a car for you despite your prepaid reservation when you show up. It also seems like it is the same shit female who lies about calling you/voicemail. She needs to be fired. She has 0 customer service. I dont expect great service but I dont appreciate open disdain and lack of effort. She also said to me I cant transfer your prepaid reservation to another avis...it's just a lot to do. Don't and I repeat Don't rent from this location! I think Priceline should also be held accountable for who they promote on the website. Vito the owner was very nice when I rented the car, even though we waited 10 mins while the attendant texted in the back and did not care about people out front and Vito was outside for a smoke break . It was a nice car but was so dirty we had to take it to get cleaned it was just nasty.Could they just clean the car , it looked like it had not been washed in months. When I returned the car their was a upgrade charge for the car and I was like WTF..... Vito had added the upgrade charge and never told us even tho the car was in the same class we had reserved . We never agreed to the upgrade. This is just a scam. The employee explained that Vito did this very often and was a common occurrence and many people complained about it. This location will not get our business again. read more

In short: ***AVOID THIS AVIS AT ALL COST*** Vito (the owner) did a bait and switch, telling us the total cost of our rental would have been just under $250 then neglected to inform us of a ($30) extension fee, charging us an extra hour ($37) even though my wife arrived on time but couldn't make it to the counter as there were people in line and ahead of her. He also tried to charge us $25 in a gas fee even though we returned our rental with a full tank. This is not the way to do business! read more

Inside of car was dirty when I picked it up and it had been a long time since it had been cleaned. There were toe nails on the back floor board and a foot print on the front windshield. You could see the foot print because the windshield had that filmy residue that a car gets when you haven't washed the inside windows in some time. When I complained, I was told I should have refused the car. Of course, who searches for toe nails and foot marks when they pick a vehicle up. I was hundreds of miles away when I noticed. I picked the car up and it was a 1/4 tank and they couldn't provide the car I asked for even though I had called two days before and was promised that it would be there. He actually admitted to promising that the model I wanted would be there but then told me that they rented it before I got there. He said I should have been happy with what I got. One employee told me that I could bring the car back three hours late to make up for switching cars on me and then when I returned the car the manager tried to tell me that he was not going to allow that. He finally agreed to let it slide, which was probably smart on his part because I had witnesses to the promise of the extra time. I have rented several cars and have never had such rude service nor can I remember ever getting a car that was dirty when I picked it up. And the owner had the guts to tell me that Americans are animals when I was complaining about service. The good is that the location is convenient and the car I got ran well. read more

Very RUDE owner Vito! Had a reservation but did not have a car I reserved online even if they have one bigger car on their lot. Bad customer service. This location was a nightmare.. Owner/ manager Vito was very rude and disrespectful. The car was FILTHY I requested another car it was that bad inside and out. He took 30 minutes to come back because he took it to get washed.. When I returned no one was at the counter just a note stating they would be back in an hour. Needless to say this caused me having to pay an additional $28 fee, when I called to dispute with Vito he began to yell at me and him by up on me, yes he just simply hung up on me... This is the worst location... Renters beware. read more

STAY AWAY FROM AVIS! I had to cancel a trip weeks in advance and they charged me a $50 cancellation fee. Thrifty and Hertz don't charge you for cancellation. When I asked to speak to a manager, the phone representative told me I would have to wait up to 30 minutes! INSANE! read more

This Avis branch is THE WORST. Last Thursday (4/26) I had a reservation through Costco to pick up my car rental at 6 PM. However, knowing that they close at 6, I got off work earlier so that I could get there by 5:30. When I arrived, the door was locked and there was no one inside the store. Two ladies nearby who had just picked up their rental told me to wait five more minutes and if no one shows up, then the lady probably left already. Keep in mind that this was 30 minutes before their stated closing time. I waited around for another 10 minutes and still didn't see anyone so I decided to call Avis customer service. I informed them that their employee was not in the office and that I had a reservation to pick up my rental. Initially I was ok with picking up the car from a different location but when I asked the customer service representative to honor the price of the reservation that I made a week prior (which included a free day and up to 25% off Avis base rates), they said they could not do that and even try to sell me a four day rental for $300! The reservation I had made originally had only been $80.62! When I got off the phone with the customer service representative, the two ladies who I had saw earlier came back to the Avis store pissed. They stated that when they were going through the process of picking up their rental, the worker looked like she was in a hurry. As soon as they finished their paper work, the lady threw the keys at them and told them to go look for their car. After they found their rental, they saw that the SUV they had originally made a reservation for was now a compact car. In addition, the car had not been cleaned yet and was caked in mud inside and out. Long story short, I ended up having to make a last minute rental which costed me more than double. If management at this Montclair branch is reading this, whichever employee you had working the closing shift on 4/26 needs to be fired. She clearly does not prioritize her job and you can find much better employees than her. read more

BUDGET/AVIS Don't rent from them!! I wish I can give them zero stars! I rented a car through Hot Wire, I showed up to pick up the counter help (Cherry)says there's no cars available but what can I expect from a person WannaBee Manager that doesn't care on customer service etiquette Lesson 1 you don't come out with your mouth full of food chewing like a cow to help customers! ..and the poor service saga continues. Lust like my PODS experience they 'didn't have my reservation', and instead of a "this is our error sir; you prepaid, we'll get you SOME kind of car.. the details of our broken reservation system aren't your concern.. were a business, you're a customer", I got all the details of how they don't have my car, and how I had to pay $40 more to get an SUV. On top of this, there's one overwhelmed clerk (nice girl) a handful of people waiting, etc. got here at 11:30 for my noon reservation, and it's 12:30 and they "need to wash the car cause it's filthy". I wish I could give this 0 stars. Simply WOW at the rudeness and anger of this agent that states to be the manager and yet will not give her name. Having worked in the rental car business in my early 20s I am not upset she didn't have a car, it was her condescending, rude spirited demeanor. I easily called and got a guaranteed car up the street yet how she can be the manager makes me really wonder about budget off site locations. read more

Was a little worried when I saw the previous Yelp reviews. But when I got there, I was glad to hear they got new management under Joey and Stephanie. No more Vito! Avoid this Avis Location!! rented a car for two days and returned it with more fuel in it than it had when i picked it up and what the level which was recorded on the paper work. they did not want to give me a closing ticket and advise me what the charges were going to be. I check my master card account and discovered they overcharged me. I tried for two days to talk to a guy named "VITO" They have NO CUSTOMER SERVICE THERE. I finally called the 800 number on avis.com and went thru all the charges - turns out they charged me $13.98 for fuel - I advised the CR I was talking to the that was the error and I had a document that indicated how much fuel the car had when I picked it up He credited my MC for the amount. also the car was not clean in or out- It looked like HELL. this location does not have a pickup service as I had asked. nor would they drop me off a few blocks away. DO NOT RENT FROM AVIS! We had a car reserved for 4 days and when we went to pick it up, they tell us that they don't have anymore cars regardless of my reservation! WTH are you kidding me! Basically these reviews don't lie. I had the same situation that's been mentioned numerous of times. I booked and paid online, I went to the AVIS/BUDGET location on time and was told by an employee that they didn't have any cars available for me. I was instructed to call customer service myself to figure it out. I called customer service and they rebooked me to another AVIS//BUDGET. I asked customer service rep Claudia to confirm that they do have a car available for my use. She assured me even said it was cheaper, so I head over there. When I'm about to turn into the parking lot now at the second AVIS/BUDGET location get a call from them saying ... you guessed it that there are no cars available for my use. She proceeds to tell me that there is nothing she could do, and I should .... anyone cate to guess? Answer: I should call customer service. If it's one thing they all do well is give you this same speel to call customer service. I ended up canceling it all and I'm hoping they don't commit fraud because when I asked to provide me with a confirmation or receipt or even email saying I will get refunded she said she that she couldn't. Oh and this is after she told me I will get an email saying I was a no show to my reservations and will be charged $150. First time and last time with this company. Moral of the story cheaper sometimes ain't worth the headache. I Hope I get my money back! read more

He took down our information, had everything ready to go, and when we were having trouble locating our insurance information, he said I'm not going to give you a car. My sister booked this online, and for a previous road trip my mother had used this place to rent a car for a weeklong trip to Canada.
