I had rented from Budget once before and didn't have any problems, so I didn't think twice about using them again. My husband and I share a car, which we had to bring to a repair shop in Massachusetts before we went to work and just needed a rental for the day. When I arrived at 8:00am, I was told that the SUV i reserved the day before was not available and all they had left were small cars. My husband is 6'5 so I asked for the biggest car they had available. It took well over 20 minutes for them to prepare the car, which the manager said was in excellent condition. No one came out to examine the car with me and, because I was already late, I didn't check it either and quickly drove off the lot. After I got onto the highway, I noticed 2 huge cracks in the side mirror which made the reflection look like a fun house mirror. I called Budget to inform them of the defect so I wouldn't get charged. I spoke to the same person who told me the car was in great shape and he said he was aware of the problem. I continued to drive to the repair shop, then to work (which I didn't get to until 10:00), and my husband drove back to New Hampshire for his job. He stopped at Budget to trade the car for one that didn't have a broken mirror. When he explained what happened to the manager, the manager said that I should have driven back immediately when I noticed the problem, but he didn't say that when I spoke on the phone with him. When my husband explained we didn't have time to do it, the manager said that was our problem. Then he started accusing my husband of causing the damage, despite admitting to me on the phone that he knew about it. He went on to say that we couldn't trade the damaged car or get our money back because I drove off the lot with it. He then charged us $9 PER GALLON IN GAS for each of the 3 gallons that we used, saying the $6 per gallon price increased was a "distribution fee". The two hours we had the car cost us a total of $77! On top of that, my husband now has to WALK from Budget to Enterprise, which will take over 30 minutes, because Budget claimed there were no cars left. It is 92 degrees outside today and the heat index is 98. In addition, my husband won't get to work until after noon. their actions have been completely appalling. No amount of money is worth the frustration of having to deal with Budget and with all of the hidden fees they charge, you're better off going to Enterprise. read more

Things to know about Budget Rent A Car Nashua --They are not located at the airport. They are an 'off-airport' car rental service. Being off the airport was not the best option for an airport traveler but it did save me a lot of money in nonsensical airport taxes. --Even though it is off airport the rental car place is not that far from the Manchester airport. It only took 20 minutes to get there. --If you return your car and are in a hurry just know that they will email a copy of your receipt. I was able to receive my invoices minutes after walking out their door right on my smartphone. I liked that a lot. --The prices are awesome! Budget will probably be the cheapest in town- I looked on numerous sites before booking and Budget ranged 5-20$ cheaper per day. That was a huge savings. --A large percentage of their rental vehicles are Toyota which is nice (I'm a Toyota owner so I like that sort of thing). I went with Toyota Camry. It was a true Full size car, low miles and was spotless upon pick up. --It is helpful if you give them your insurance information on your own car so they know whether you will be using theirs or your own insurance company to cover the rental. I chose their collision damage waiver to avoid the hassles of an ass-hat hitting the rental while in my possession. --Credit or debit cards are acceptable with a $300 minimum deposit on your bank account until after the car is returned. It went back into my bank the next day- Thank you Budget and Thank you Bank of America for the quick process of my funds. --It is really easy to get in and out of the rental place once in your car or when you go to return. Lots of affordable gas stations on the way in and out. They even have a Speedway right across the street. --The staff here was more than helpful to me. They were very polite and did everything they could to make sure things ran smoothy for my visit. --They offer after-hour rental service apparently and even though it wasn't necessary, they showed me how to return my car after business hours if I needed that service. read more

I am in this country for last 13 years and almost every time I travelled within the country or to Canada I rented vehicles from Budget and found very satisfactory deals with good customer service. Last month I had a guest from abroad and I needed a van for rent to go to Niagara Fall. I booked it online and selected this Nashua, NH location to pick it up. Initially I took it for four days but due to my guest's child sickness I had to come back after two days. When I returned the van I found that I have been charged more so I complained to the person at Front Desk who did not pay attention to my complain and I had to pay more. Per my habit I was looking on reviews about that particular place so that I can also write down my recent experience. I was really shocked when I noticed that one of the Budget's Business Manager named Larry Padolsky clarifying the things with individual customer's complains and telling them to contact him directly. I also noticed that this gentleman was recently joined the Team and wanted to do something extra ordinary. So before writing a review on my recent experience I decided to try Larry P first and see what he can do for me. I sent a detailed email to L. Padolsky describing my recent experience with Budget at Nashua, NH. I was really shocked when after half an hour he responded my email stating very clearly that one of our employee has made a mistake by overcharging me and he is immediately advising the Branch to refund the overcharged amount to my credit card. Honestly speaking I have never seen any person investigating the complain, admitting the mistake and issuing refund. I really appreciate his personal efforts which he took in resolving my issues and I hope that if Budget have some people like him this Organization can beat any Rental company because the essence of success in this line of business is only and only good customer service which Larry is doing at his best. I can't say enough about Mike at the Nashua Budget Rental location. He went above and beyond helping out my daughter who needed a car while her car was being repaired for an accident that was not her fault. Originally the paying insurance company suggest we go to Enterprise only to have my time wasted. We found out they would not rent a car to her (under 21 years old) and insisted that "I" rent the car and to let her use my personal vehicle for school. Of course this didn't come up during the two telephone conversations I had with them... but instead was explained to me in person at the repair where they were meeting me. No real discussion either... Enterprise just drove away leaving me without a car. Are you kidding? The repair shop suggested I reach out to Mike at Budget and I am super grateful for that advice. Mike explained to the adjuster that Budget has a young driver fee but yes they would rent to her. When the insurance company said they would not cover that fee, Mike insisted on our behalf that they must pay it my daughter was the one being inconvenienced. And now that the transaction is over.... they did cover ALL OF IT! I had no idea about this loophole with insurance companies and Enterprise's policy. It took Budget to explain it to me like a human and I am super grateful for Mike's direction and involvement. Add to this... because my daughter plays after school sports, we could not pick up the car during normal business hours. Mike came in after hours (8PM) to make the transaction easier for us. Wow. I don't rent a lot of vehicles locally... but when I do... I will absolutely go back to see Mike at Nashua Budget. Updating my review: After posting the original review here -- within a week I got a call from the Manager of the Budget Nashua location apologizing me for whatever happened. He made sure that the same will not happen again and credited me all the $$ I paid for the rental car. The manager (sorry but I forgot his name) is a professional person, listens to your feedback and helps you sort out things. First time I rented car from budget and horrible experience. I booked a car online and declined the insurance coverage. I went to pick up the car and signed rental doc thinking that I am getting what I asked for but seems like Marcus added insurance coverage without asking/telling me. I dropped off the car and the same guy said he will email me the rental invoice, which did not happen. Checked my credit card statement and came to know that Budget charged me much more. I called and finally got the invoice which included insurance coverage. I called Budget again, talked to Marcus and explained him that I declined the insurance coverage online but I was still charged for it. He had a cold reply -- "You signed the agreement" and that he can not help me. BAD SERVICE!!! This is total fraud. I signed the rental doc thinking that it will include what I select in the online booking but my fault-- I trusted these people. Too many hidden changes. Whats Concession Fee?? Needed a vehicle of a decent size for an emergency trip to Tampa to give my two kids a chance to spend time with their terminally ill grandfather, and we had very little in the way of notice. Flying was definitely out, since we would need to rent a vehicle anyway, and the cost of gas being as reasonable as it has been recently, it made better sense to just drive down than to add the additional cost of flights for 4 people. I called Budget and asked for a recommendation for a vehicle, as our family car would have been ridiculously cramped. The man was accommodating and helpful. He found us a mini van that would be plenty of room for the children to be comfortable as well as all of our bags for the week, which was even more than you would expect due to the fact that my youngest is a baby and in need of a stroller, a pack and play, etc. Given the consideration of the short notice, and the long distance to travel (over 3000 miles round trip) I was not expecting the cost to be nearly as reasonable as the man offered, so he convinced me immediately when he offered me a good price. The van was a 2016 KIA Sedona, and was almost brand new (1400 miles on the odometer when I picked it up). It had all the modern features that made it a joy to road trip with for myself, wife, and children. We ended up needing to extend the rental by a day due to weather conditions and a fussy baby on the way back, and they accommodated us without an issue. Had we decided to work with any other car rental agency, the cost would have been nearly double for a similar vehicle. All in all it was a wonderful experience, and we will definitely work with Budget for all our future car rental needs! read more

I am not usually one to write reviews but I just had an incredible experience with a car rental company. I always told my husband if we become online reviewers, I'd want to visit amazing restaurants all around the world and be a critic. We just arrived into town for a wedding this weekend. My bestfriend from my childhood is finally taking the plunge and we are so excited for Becky and Jamal. I was in charge of transportation to and from the church and the after party. It turns out the other company that we reserved our minivan with (9 MONTHS AGO!) no longer has it available. I guess their customer still has it and will not have it back for the weekend erggghhhhh. Well the nice man at Hertz had us call Budget in Nashua. Kudos to Richard from Hertz for giving me the Budget number :) I called Mike and he just was wonderful. He had his coworker Mark (lol Mike and Mark- confusing, I know) bring this amazing Toyota Sienna to our hotel in Nashua and we are saving about $20 each day from what Hertz was going to charge us. I joked with my husband and said "Honey now we can order room service". He wasnt buying it lol. So I just wanted to say thank you to this M&M duo for saving my butt. I am not even going to tell Becky haha Janice from the front desk of the hotel said I should have called Budget in the first place. The best neighborhood car rental experience I've experienced and I rent a lot of cars all over the country. The local airport in Manchester NH was sold out of cars and I needed to take a taxi to Nashua. I wish they would have picked me up from the airport but I understand they are not located right in Manchester but the pick up service still would have been nice. When arriving to the location after already making a reserviation I was greeted by a nice young lady named (kristin?). She had a car already pulled up to the front door... A brand new Ford Fusion. There may have been 200 miles on the car. I am a huge fan of renting new cars. The rate locally was a third of the rate I was receiving from the airport so this was a blessing in disguise. Being new to the area and traveling the area to visit some old friends and attending a funeral, I needed some directions. Her counterpart (Mike?) was able to print me out directions for every step of my destination. These two really worked well together. I am tempted to give them 5 stars but the fact that I had to shell out nearly 60 bucks for a taxi reflects more on the airport location than the superb job the Nashua office was able to perform. Next time I will just book my car with Nashua and factor in the cost of the taxi service and still save myself money opposed to the high cost of the airport fees. read more

Mike just called. I mistakenly booked a reservation for a mini-van for the wrong week and when I arrived at his office, they were sold out- This was a huge problem and I take full responsibility for the error. Mike could not have been nicer and more sympathetic to the situation. He called around to other companies in the area but being last minute he had no luck finding us a van that would accommodate all 7 of us. We are in town for my brothers wedding so needless to say, this is a huge deal. Now we are settled in our hotel trying to find a way to get us all over to the seacoast in time for the wedding and we'd like to all be in one car- Mike was able to save the day by calling and letting us know that he just had a 7 seater return earlier than expected and he is saving it for us. There's no wonder why Budget has him as the manager and we cannot thank him enough for making this situation a positive one after my error has left us in this predicament. My husband is heading back to his office to pick up the van and I felt compelled to write a review because he has gone way above and beyond for us today. Last minute desperation and had to do some thing quick to make my early morning business meeting in NYC. Called around and either had to travel to Logan airport or miss a meeting thats been planned for months. Decided to call Budget at nearly midnight and felt really bad waking Mike the manager up at that hour. He helped me in a pickle a couple years ago and remembered that this office prides themselves on doing whatever it takes to help their customers no matter if its day or night. so long story short, Mike drove to my home in Chelmsford and brought me back to the rental office in downtown nashua after midnight. And get this, he refused a tip!!! so after what was a day from hell and could have been even a worse day the following day, it ended up working out just fine. its important that Mikes superiors know what he did for me and how he was able to make my experience beyond what anyone could imagine. this will be remembered by me for a long time, thanks mike and thank you budget rent a car read more

My mother and I were hit by a man in a truck that went through a red light at the corner of Arlington and East Hollis St. The car was totaled and my mother badly hurt. A man ran across the street, held my mothers hand as if she was his own mother. As I called 911 this gentleman stayed with her, helping her until the ambulance took her. A problem with her insurance, which may be another review on yelp, brought her to Budget car rental. My mom was pleasantly surprised to see that the kind man who had helped her, Mike, is also the manager at Budget. He went the extra mile on so many levels helping my mother and I through this ordeal. Helping with an accident statement, with claims through insurance companies. Even helping my family to keep the rental car as long as possible and helping us to find another family vehicle. Budget and Mike acted with so much kindness, which seems to be rare today, it was heartfelt. I will always use Budget. Thank you sincerely Mike and the Budget team. read more

These guys were great. If you're a fan of black and white when it comes to totals and prices then don't look anywhere else. I find it hard to believe some of these people had such a struggle with the pricing, etc. I feel as if when you're in a pinch you act impulsively and sign your life away. I called about 13 minutes before closing time and Mike was beyond gracious enough to not only rent me a car, but he even picked me up in the car I was renting so it was warm by the time I got there. I do believe he went above and beyond and within such a short time there everything was laid out, the price, the option, the mileage, there was no gray area for me. I know what I needed it for, where I needed to go and for how long. If I'm ever in a pinch for a car I'd know exactly where I'd go, this man stayed past closing time to only help me out but talk about a similar passion we both had for cruising. Cool place, cool dude. I don't usually feel compelled to write online reviews but the service my daughter received from this Budget location is so incredible it deserves a great review. My daughter Tanya is 19 years old and could not find a car rental company in our area that would rent her a car. We called companies as north as Concord NH and as far south as Boston Mass. The only company in the surrounding area that would rent her a car is Budget Rent A Car Nashua New Hampshire. Not only did they rent her a car at the age of 19, they also accepted her ATM Visa Card and only held a minimal deposit out of her checking account. She rented a beautiful 2014 Camry and absolutely loved it. The only problem now is she doesn't care too much for her 2004 Honda Civic. The guys at Budget went way above and beyond and even helped me with a reservation for a car in Florida next month. Thank you very much Team Budget! read more

I rented a car today due to an accident my son had with our Subaru Outback. It was nice to be able to rent a car in town on a Sunday. I called this morning and my call was received by a nice young lady named Christine. My insurance allows me 30.00 each day for a car rental replacement. Christine was very nice and upgraded me to a Chevy Impala. She went above and beyond to explain how my accident would be handled with my insurance company. She was very knowledgeable and even knew my insurance adjuster from Amica. The car even has a remote starter and with the temperatures dipping down tonight, it will be nice to go out to the car tomorrow and have it be warmed up. Getting into an accident is not an enjoyable experience but if you do have to deal with an accident it is nice to know there's a car rental company like Budget that can handle it as well as Christine did today. read more

What seemed to be a certain unjustified response from Enterprise Rent A Car at the Manchester Boston Regional Airport where they at the most untimely of circumstances decided to cancel our reservation for a large capacity automobile. We were then notified by a close family acquaintance of the certain possibility of being fortunate enough to be in the good graces of Budget Rent A Car of Nashua New Hampshire. Well let me tell you that these darlings of humans at Budget were able to put us into a ravishing sport utility automobile of a Chevy Traverse which was splendid and quite the compelling ride for me and my guest. We had the loveliest of times dashing from destination to destination in this dream ride. I could not be anymore pleased with their service at the Budget. I had two recent and great experiences at this Budget location in Nashua. The manager Mike went above and beyond to help get me into a corporate car (rather than one of their own, franchise owned cars) so I could drive it to NY in one day and drop it off there without any extra fees. Enterprise charges an extra $100 just to drop it off at a different location. Nothing like that here.. he even gave me a significantly reduced daily rate since I expected to drop it off one day but had to extend my rental due to the NY offices all being closed early on New Years Eve. I also have to purchase the insurance and he always gives me a great rate. Thank you, Mike and all the other employees at Budget in Nashua for making my experiences always super easy, fast, and affordable. read more
