Kevin Brown -- I started going to BL in 1994 when Doug (owner) had it. He recently retired and turned it over to his son (Chris) who has no idea of running a business. I was in there several months ago and I was told my filter on my transmission was rusted and needed replaced. I said sure go ahead, Chevy Diesel with Allison transmission$$$$.....I need to take care of it. I took it in the other day and was told trans filter is rusted and needed replaced. I commented I had just had it replaced. (Transmission filters are good for 30K+ miles) I told them no, just the oil. Okay....another guy comes in and tells me my transmission lines are leaking, I had just picked the truck up from a full service auto mechanic where I had all of the trans lines replaced. (After I left I realized that my transmission fluid had been changed because of new lines, trans filter too) He said here I'll show you. He took me out in the shop and down in the "bunker" underneath to see the tranny lines. Right above my head was the trans filter and it looked brand new no paint missing and surely not a speck of rust. A couple of years ago when Doug was still running it they shorted me 2 quarts of oil, my truck takes 10 quarts. I took a small trip, 400 miles with my T trailer and I checked my dipstick and nothing was showing. It took exactly 2 quarts to bring it up to the full mark. I called and talked with Doug and he told me to stop by and he would give me a couple of quarts.....really? Doug's son Chris has an opportunity to build off of a fairly good business that his dad Doug built and instead he's running it into the ground. I'm going to take it to Mills Fleet Farm where I can get it done for $20 less. Or, I'll go back to doing it myself. I can't afford taking an expensive to replace truck $80K to a bunch of morons trying to take advantage of the customer. Shyster.....do I have that spelled right? read more
