Outstanding Customer Service - Redding Airpot in Redding, California Hertz Location…read more I wanted to take a moment to recognize a wonderful young woman at the Hertz location in Redding, California, who went above and beyond for my husband and me on August 27. We had flown into Redding and, unfortunately, had accidentally reserved our rental car for Redmond, Oregon instead of Redding, California. The original rental company was unable to help us and did not have another vehicle available. We were feeling pretty discouraged, so we went next door to Hertz to see if they could help. The young woman who assisted us initially told us that Hertz also did not have any cars available to rent that day. She suggested that we call Enterprise, who told us they could pick us up and take us back to the airport. I had Enterprise on speakerphone, and she overheard the conversation. She recognized that we were not getting the help we needed and felt genuinely sorry for our situation. Then, in an incredibly kind gesture, she offered to let us use a car that was available, even though it was dirty. We honestly didn't care about that at all--we were simply so grateful that she was willing to help us when we were in a difficult situation. Unfortunately, I don't remember her name, and I'm very sorry about that. But I sincerely hope someone at Hertz can identify her and let her know how much her kindness meant to us. She didn't have to go out of her way for us, but she did. Her compassion, resourcefulness, and willingness to help turned what could have been a very stressful day into one we will remember with gratitude. Her customer service was truly exceptional, and she absolutely deserves to be recognized for going above and beyond. Please thank her again on our behalf. We are so grateful for all of her help and support. Hertz is very fortunate to have someone like her representing the company. Thank you so much.

Dustin told me he had only 3 vehicles left, all pretty large/pricey, and to maybe check next door with Avis. They didn't have any better offers so I went back to him. Dustin went out of his way to save me money and get me into a car that was closer to what I needed - he told me if I was willing to wait ten minutes another customer had reserved a car but that they hadn't shown up, and he could give me their car. He saved my day as I would have had to wait hours at the other places, so I was able to complete my work day. Not only that, it was a brand new KIA sedan that was super nice, sparkling clean, and drove like a dream! He explained that I could bring it back any day before the three days I had reserved and they would refund the difference, and if I needed to extend it he would keep it at the same reasonable rate. He was so efficient and got me back to my regular work schedule just in the nick of time! His kindness and courteous demeanor reflects so well on Hertz, he made me feel like he was taking care of a friend. Literally the best car rental experience I have ever had! Thank you Dustin!

I just recently rented from this location what was supposed to be a couple days that turned into a…read moremonth, during this time I was constantly harassed for wanting to extend the rental... I've rented from other hertz locations throughout the us an never had too keep putting deposits down when I wanted too extend my rental, but each time i extended the rental I was charged the rental plus deposit but I paid it because they threatened to report the car stolen if I didn't pay. With my cars still in the shop and no date when it would be done kinda had no choice.... Now what pisses me off the most is the fact they lied too me saying I needed too bring the car into switch it out cause it was due for maintenance. I told them I worked at 10 am a hour away so it needed too be quick the clerk assured me I'd be in an out of there, so I arrived early at 820 and because I left my card and drivers license at home (in a rush) I couldn't drive off even though they have both items photocopied already which didn't make sense but either way I had too get picked up and taken home to get those items before I came back I called and I was told the owner doesn't want too rent to me again like are you serious and just hung up the phone now my account is double charged by 2200$$$ and now won't answer my calls or email so called my Banks Fraud Department and filled a claim

When we…read morewere down there, the first car that we tried was full of cigarette smoke, being that I have such an asthmatic/allergy to cigarette smoke, I asked to be switched. The gentleman there was kind and gave us a small Subaru( but said it was mid-size) and it was ok. Got us to point A to point B. We could feel every bump in the road and the seats were super hard. But, we were grateful that God gave us a car to help us get from point A to point B. Then this morning, it was raining; so we started to use our windshield wiper blades, and realized that one of them didn't work. Seeing out of the windows while it is raining, would be a definite plus. So we stopped in at this budget here; and a gentleman named Mike, helped us out and got us a RAV4. Switched us out quickly which we were thankful for. Now we had to fill the other tank up, and we did as we promised. So now we have a comfier vehicle, one that sits up higher; and we don't have a vehicle that we can feel every single bump in the road. So next time you are at this Avis/Budget place, ask for Mike. Super nice and awesome gentlemen!!

An upgrade is only an "upgrade" when it has perceived value to the customer…read more I reserved a vehicle to be picked up on 9/09 and returned on 9/15/18 and when I arrived at my scheduled time to pick up said vehicle I was told, "Sorry, we only have this left, take it or leave it." Well I had reserved a full-size car what I got stuck with was a mini-van and I was told it was an upgrade. Nope, sorry, not sorry, I don't need a buttload of seats . . . but got stuck with it b/c I was told, "Take it or leave it!" I figured, crap, I can deal with it for a few days as I was on my way out of town. Well, I returned into town on 9/12/18 and began trying to call the local office around 2 p.m. to trade this sucker in as I had paid for a full-size car thru 9/15/18. No one would answer the phone at the local office and I kept getting forwarded to the national customer service line. I did speak to someone at the national office and was told try calling the local office again. WTF? Okay, still no one answering - and don't even try to do anything at an airport rental location unless you have some sort of plane ticket confirming that you actually traveled - WTF x 2 !!?? So after various unsuccessful tries at contacting someone from local office again that I rented it from I tried on-line chat with Budget national office, and they told me to call the 800# and have them deal with it...UGH!!! Well, still SSDD. Fast forward to Thursday, SOS and didn't even drive the thing, beast, monster gas-guzzler. So now it's Friday morning and was hopeful once again and called the 800# for Budget customer service and was told by Jose, "Sorry but you need to talk to the location in which you rented the vehicle from." I wanted to say, "Listed here Jose, I am unable to contact them as they're not answering the phone." Jose had suggested I drive up to the location and see about exchanging vehicles that way - double UGH!! I don't want to drive all the way up there for bupkiss, zilch, nada b/c this thing gets shit gas mileage. So I'm stuck and it sucks - I've paid for a useless rental until Saturday 9/15/18 but I'll be damned if I return it early out of mere principle. DON'T RENT FROM THEM is my advice - you'll have your car that you reserved early jacked right out from you and may not have anyone to assist you in getting another more acceptable vehicle. What a load of BS! An upgrade is only an upgrade if they're is some benefit for the renter. This is more of a punishment to me than an upgrade period. The gas mileage sucks and oh yeah, it's a fricking minivan. (No offense to the mini-van or those who own one, but if I would have wanted a minivan I would have purchased one or at least reserved a minivan.

They said they'd stay open an hour after closing (at 6) to ensure late flights get their rental cars, but nope. They left right at 6, and according to the airport they do this all the time and don't refund their customers either. We called the "after-hours" line and got hung up on after every prompt with the statement "we're closed". Okay so then why is there an AFTER HOURS LINE? We had to go an hour away and the airport said we either have to get a hotel here and come back in the morning for the car, or take an Uber there and back for the car, or try our luck with disputing/ refunding it (which gets no luck). One group had a young child with them also going over an hour away, one woman going two hours away, and we got stranded with no assistance from anyone. Terrible. Don't support this company.
