I was supposed to remember a fine print CODE from a 30 second TV ad? Are you kidding? The price offered was almost double the advertised price. After some "google searches" and telephone calls I found JOEY COLOMBO the Redding Airport Rep for Budget. Joey patiently explained all the Budget deals, vehicles and best times to rent. I got EXACTLY what we needed at the price advertised. No more "Who's on first" with an out of area call center rep. Great guy, great van, great deal. Save some grief if you need to rent a car for a day or a week. Call a real LOCAL guy ..Joey.. when need to rent in the north state. Inside the airport terminal, north end.

Outstanding Customer Service - Redding Airpot in Redding, California Hertz Location…read more I wanted to take a moment to recognize a wonderful young woman at the Hertz location in Redding, California, who went above and beyond for my husband and me on August 27. We had flown into Redding and, unfortunately, had accidentally reserved our rental car for Redmond, Oregon instead of Redding, California. The original rental company was unable to help us and did not have another vehicle available. We were feeling pretty discouraged, so we went next door to Hertz to see if they could help. The young woman who assisted us initially told us that Hertz also did not have any cars available to rent that day. She suggested that we call Enterprise, who told us they could pick us up and take us back to the airport. I had Enterprise on speakerphone, and she overheard the conversation. She recognized that we were not getting the help we needed and felt genuinely sorry for our situation. Then, in an incredibly kind gesture, she offered to let us use a car that was available, even though it was dirty. We honestly didn't care about that at all--we were simply so grateful that she was willing to help us when we were in a difficult situation. Unfortunately, I don't remember her name, and I'm very sorry about that. But I sincerely hope someone at Hertz can identify her and let her know how much her kindness meant to us. She didn't have to go out of her way for us, but she did. Her compassion, resourcefulness, and willingness to help turned what could have been a very stressful day into one we will remember with gratitude. Her customer service was truly exceptional, and she absolutely deserves to be recognized for going above and beyond. Please thank her again on our behalf. We are so grateful for all of her help and support. Hertz is very fortunate to have someone like her representing the company. Thank you so much.

The gentleman there was kind and gave us a small Subaru( but said it was mid-size) and it was ok. Got us to point A to point B. We could feel every bump in the road and the seats were super hard. But, we were grateful that God gave us a car to help us get from point A to point B. Then this morning, it was raining; so we started to use our windshield wiper blades, and realized that one of them didn't work. Seeing out of the windows while it is raining, would be a definite plus. So we stopped in at this budget here; and a gentleman named Mike, helped us out and got us a RAV4. Switched us out quickly which we were thankful for. Now we had to fill the other tank up, and we did as we promised. So now we have a comfier vehicle, one that sits up higher; and we don't have a vehicle that we can feel every single bump in the road. So next time you are at this Avis/Budget place, ask for Mike. Well I had reserved a full-size car what I got stuck with was a mini-van and I was told it was an upgrade. Nope, sorry, not sorry, I don't need a buttload of seats . . . but got stuck with it b/c I was told, "Take it or leave it!" I figured, crap, I can deal with it for a few days as I was on my way out of town. Well, I returned into town on 9/12/18 and began trying to call the local office around 2 p.m. to trade this sucker in as I had paid for a full-size car thru 9/15/18. No one would answer the phone at the local office and I kept getting forwarded to the national customer service line. I did speak to someone at the national office and was told try calling the local office again. WTF? Okay, still no one answering - and don't even try to do anything at an airport rental location unless you have some sort of plane ticket confirming that you actually traveled - WTF x 2 !!?? So after various unsuccessful tries at contacting someone from local office again that I rented it from I tried on-line chat with Budget national office, and they told me to call the 800# and have them deal with it...UGH!!! Well, still SSDD. Fast forward to Thursday, SOS and didn't even drive the thing, beast, monster gas-guzzler. So now it's Friday morning and was hopeful once again and called the 800# for Budget customer service and was told by Jose, "Sorry but you need to talk to the location in which you rented the vehicle from." I wanted to say, "Listed here Jose, I am unable to contact them as they're not answering the phone." Jose had suggested I drive up to the location and see about exchanging vehicles that way - double UGH!! I don't want to drive all the way up there for bupkiss, zilch, nada b/c this thing gets shit gas mileage. So I'm stuck and it sucks - I've paid for a useless rental until Saturday 9/15/18 but I'll be damned if I return it early out of mere principle. DON'T RENT FROM THEM is my advice - you'll have your car that you reserved early jacked right out from you and may not have anyone to assist you in getting another more acceptable vehicle. What a load of BS! An upgrade is only an upgrade if they're is some benefit for the renter. This is more of a punishment to me than an upgrade period. The gas mileage sucks and oh yeah, it's a fricking minivan. They left right at 6, and according to the airport they do this all the time and don't refund their customers either. We called the "after-hours" line and got hung up on after every prompt with the statement "we're closed". Okay so then why is there an AFTER HOURS LINE? We had to go an hour away and the airport said we either have to get a hotel here and come back in the morning for the car, or take an Uber there and back for the car, or try our luck with disputing/ refunding it (which gets no luck). One group had a young child with them also going over an hour away, one woman going two hours away, and we got stranded with no assistance from anyone. Terrible. Don't support this company.

Gave me the key and told me where to find the car. No walk thru or documentation of any previous damage, so I just made a video of the car for inspection records. No walk thru of the car controls, just had to figure it out myself. Vehicle - 4 stars It got me where I needed to go. It was a 2025 vehicle. Didn't get the RAV4 that I was expecting. Instead I got a big Mitsubishi. Fine, no biggie. Vehicle was reasonably visibly clean, but as a habit I wipe down the controls and steering wheel with a Clorox wipe anyway. And THANK GOODNESS for my hygiene habit. The wipe was disgusting. I highly recommend everyone do that regardless of rental agency! Gas tank was not full but I'm supposed to return it full. I took a photo of the gauge to show that it was not totally full; it was one line shy of full on the scale.

They refused to honor upgrades, coupons, or other incentives once for the reservation is made online.

I can buy and tow a gooseneck trailer without this A license. They're open a 1/2 day on Sat and closed Sunday, not a smart move if you're in the rental business. Ironbull is overkill for most towing, their trailers are nearly double the weight of most adding unnecessary wear and tear to your vehicle. they're also undersized (width/length) without a winch.

I questioned how they reserved a car for me that they didn't have. The guy found a car that was there but not cleaned or filled with gas. I told him I would take it. He then gave me a key fob , with no offer to actually clean the car, and informed me to walk around the parking lot of Four Corners pushing my buttons and I'll find it. If enterprise wasn't waitlisted, I'd have walked out.
