1-18-26. This Budget/Avis location is just awful. I've rented there for years and had good service until the past year or so, The cars are NOT cleaned between rentals. I've found trash and food wrappers in the cars, floors covered with gravel and dirt, very dirty on the outside. I no longer trust they have been serviced so have it checked before I even leave town. The windows are always dirty. This used to be a good location and the previous officer manager, a woman named Jody, was extremely helpful and always accommodated any request as best as she could. The young woman who is in that office now that Jody is gone is intolerably rude and obnoxious, just scowls at you while doing the rental paperwork, does not even look at you and does not respond if you speak to her. She is a disgrace and I cannot believe that ANY company would have such a hateful woman running their office. Today I returned a car TWO MINUTES before 9 am when the office opens. I knocked on the door but she wouldn't answer and when she finally did, she said "I'm not open until 9" and to use the key drop when she was standing right in front of me. I asked her if she had to so rude all time and she said I WAS RUDE expecting her to open early - a whole 2 minutes! This obnoxious, rude, and disgusting woman should NOT be in any customer service capacity and I am reporting her to the corporate headquarters for the way I have been treated by this ugly woman and for how this location has declined so badly in terms of the condition of the cars and the abusive office clerk. I will never rent from Budget again. read more

I actually picked up my rental in Eugene airport and after 3 hrs of driving, the low tire pressure symbol came on. Ugh! As I'm traveling by myself and didn't have time to troubleshoot, I called the budget 800 number for mechanical assistance. Admittedly, that part of my experience was frustrating. On hold for an hour to be told that "maybe" I could swap out my vehicle at a local Budget. So in the morning I took my chances and drove to the Budget in Bend and asked if they could swap out my vehicle. Danielle was super kind and so helpful. She resolved my issue within minutes by giving me a new rental and I was on my way. Thanks Danielle for turning an unpleasant experience into a positive one! read more

DO NOT RENT IF DRIVING WITH PETS! Beyond frustrated with this location! Second time I rented here (AVIS), had a great experience the first time. Second time not so much. I received a free upgrade and liked the quote and booked a rental car. I was warned this time (not but previously) from lady at the desk that I would be fined for excessive dog hair if I returned the car in such condition. I thought nothing of it because rental car companies are typically used to clean common things like pet hair. When returning from my trip, I vacuumed the front and back seat, and used a pet hair remover. On top of that I returned the car three hours early. Two weeks later, I received a letter in the mail that I would be fined 150 dollars for dog hair in the car. I called and challenged the fine, they sent back pictures with crumbs that could easily be taken care of with a simple vacuum (that there suppose to do anyway) and crumbs in the front sit that I did vacuum. Some of the pet hair pictures were fair but I spend 45 min cleaning up pet hair so I suspect whether some of the pictures weren't actually from me, They have lost a customer from me for life. I've had the ABSOLUTE WORST experience with Budget Car Rental!! I recommend NOT renting your car through them! Even if another car rental company is a little more expensive, it would be way worth it to not have to deal with the hassle of Budget Car Rental. The car I was rented had multiple mechanical issues with it and became unsafe to drive. The CHECK ENGINE light came on, along with other lights on the dashboard saying to pull over and turn the car off. (Which is hard to find a safe spot to pull over in the middle of Bay Area traffic) I called Customer Service that day and told them about the issue and they said to call back after I've returned the car and they'll check into it. It was very scary driving the car back to the airport and worried about breaking down and missing my flight. I called back after the car was returned and the CSR I spoke to said 'sorry for your experience' and offered a 20% refund. I said that was insufficient since it was a safety issue and asked to speak to a CSR manager. The man I was speaking to, then started being rude to me and said he'd transfer me but I'll have to wait at least 4 hours on hold before anyone answers. Then the CSR manager that I spoke to kept saying she would only offer a 10% refund. I told her I had pictures of the dashboard and would be contacting Corporate. She then put me on hold for a while and returned saying she would give me a full refund. I had to follow up and call back 3 more separate times and each time I was told the refund had been processed, when it actually had never been processed. After the 3rd time calling back, the CSR processed the refund right away while I was on the phone. So I had been lied to multiple times. Then 2 days later, I had another mysterious charge on my C.C. from Budget. When I called customer service again to inquire about the charges, they said it was for the tolls. I had already been charged and paid for the tolls I went through right after the rental was returned and asked if I could get a receipt explaining the first charges for the tolls I paid and the second time I was charged for additional tolls. The CSR said she couldn't give me a receipt, so I asked to be transferred to someone that COULD help me. She said she would transfer me to a manager and then hung up and disconnected the call. I've now had to contact my cc company to dispute the charges and block Budget from my account!! This is the worst company, and customer service I've ever had. I don't know if they train their employees to just lie and disconnect customer when they inquire and are looking for answers or what but I definitely will NEVER USE BUDGET again! read more

Avis Budget in Bend is absolute trash. They took a 600+ deposit on a rental, only to have us show up on the day we are traveling to another state to bury a family member to tell us that because the card we used was not attached to a physical bank that they couldn't rent us the car and they CANT refund us the money until 3-10 business days from now. MAYBE DONT TAKE SOMEONES MONEY THEN HUH. SOME OF US LIVE ON THIS SIDE OF THE POVERTY AND THAT 600+ was it. MAYBE DONT CONFIRM PAYMENT. For the second time in a month we were forced to rent a car in Bend. At Budget they gave us a Hyundae Sonata - a fairly roomy car with satellite radio. This was cheaper than the Enterprise Rent-a-Car [http://www.yelp.com/biz/enterprise-rent-a-car-bend] place down the road, but their insurance was $5.00 a day more expensive. We still came out ahead. There was also less hassle in getting set up for rental here. Sales people were friendly and helpful. They'll pick you up and bring you to their office if you want to rent a car. We were in a motel and had a check-out time deadline to deal with - they arrived in time and took all our stuff (quite a load!) to the Budget place. read more

Terrible. Rented a car to go to Portland, online. Said it would be here at 9:30. Loaded my two babies up and came to get it. It was still sitting in Redmond. She made some excuse about having 24 hour notice. NOWHERE on the site does it say that AND the site booked and confirmed the time. When I asked if I could just go get it in Redmond she said it would be more expensive. I said since I have to sit in my car with crying babies for 40 minutes will you upgrade to a Tahoe. No. Rude service and they will not take responsibility for their own mistakes. Last time I rent here ever. read more

I rented a car here in February, 2022. Someone hit the car in a parking lot, while I was parked, cracking the bumper. When returning the car, I completed an incident report and submitted photos, police incident report, and all relevant info on the driver who had hit me. I was assured by the Budget people at the counter that I had done everything I needed to and that I would hear from Budget in 30-40 days. After 40 days, I and my insurance company tried to contact Budget and its third party claims company, Sedgwick. Despite numerous tries, we never learned anything beyond that it would take "up to three months." After a while, someone at Sedgwick helped me find out that the car had been rented out to someone else immediately after I returned it, and that it had been rented out numerous times without a damage assessment being done. After three months, my insurance company and I tried again...nothing. If you're not going to pursue a claim that's obviously fine, but could you let me know so I don't have to keep all these files and forms and phone numbers? I have read horror stories about rental companies suddenly charging a customer for damages after many months. I have done everything I can to prevent this, but no one is taking responsibility. The Redmond Budget people refer to Budget's main office number, which refers to Sedgwick, which has no direct communication with Budget. No one answers the phone. I have dozens of canned-looking emails from "customer service" people who have no power to do anything. I will never rent from this company again. read more

I can't choose any star rating because Budget rental deserves a 0. Never in my life have I had such a horrendous experience. I have been dealing with this company for over a month to get some severance of some sort. Just when I think it's over, there is something new happening. I finally got a well deserved credit on my card and now I find they are trying to put a new charge on my card. At this point, I am calling the BBB, and maybe the attorney general for their horrible business tactics. I am telling you, NEVER RENT A VEHICLE FROM THEM. You will have problems galore. They gave me a car that reeked of smoke. I switched it out and then that car had a flat. I paid the $90 for 24 hour road service and no one fixed the tire. My girlfriend had to drive me 3 hours to the airport because I waited over 2 hours for a repair that NO ONE FIXED. I called them and told them I left the vehicle with the keys at my friends house and her husband was home. They came and picked up the vehicle that day. 3 days later, I got an email asking me where the vehicle was. I made a call asking for the $90 dollars back. 1 week later, NO ONE had called me. I spent my time and effort into THEIR SCREW UP. I have been so stressed about this whole thing. I called them again and they said they could do NOTHING FOR ME. The bill had extra BS charges and I was so upset that my husband called because I was too angry. He got them to issue a credit finally. Then today, I check my balance and they have charged me $220 dollars. As far as I know, that IS NOT LEGAL. I am FURIOUS and will do whatever it takes to get this charge off of my card. They are criminals and I have NOTHING NUCE TO SAY ABOUT THIS AWFUL, CRIMINAL COMPANY!!!!!!! STAY AWAY FROM THEM........... read more

Would NEVER use them again! Reserved a car weeks in advance to pick up my sister from the airport in Portland to take her on a road trip around the state (did not trust my car to make the drive). First I called their shuttle service at 8am (their opening time) like they suggested, nobody would even answer the phone until 8:30. When I got someone on the line, they said they would send someone out right away, they were on their way-they did not show up for an HOUR-I live about 10 minutes away. Already running late, I was anxious to get on the road at this point. Well, when I go to give them my debit card for them to put a hold on it, they tell me that I can't use it, that I need to use a credit card instead. Their website where I made the reservation clearly says they will need to put a 400 dollar hold on a debit account. My account had at least 3 times that amount in it at the time, but my credit card was nearly maxed out. They said they needed to put just a 200 dollar hold on a credit card, that they had swiped my bank card and done a "credit check"...so they couldn't use my debit card.For the record, I know my credit is fine. I go to great lengths to make sure that my credit is fine. Whatever. I asked if I could use their computer to go online and transfer funds from my checking to my credit card if this was really such an issue...sorry, they said, we don't have internet here. Really??! you don"t have internet but you are a car rental company that takes online reservations AND you also supposedly just did a credit check on me? Fuming, I get on the phone with my bank to make the transfer over the phone. My bank then informs me they can do this, but there is a 24 hour wait for these transactions to go through-I need to use my card 45 minutes ago!!! At this point I am already late to pick my sister up from the airport and beginning to have somewhat of a meltdown. I am finally able to get a bank representative on the phone to override the 24 hour wait on payment. After I explain the situation to her, she says she can tell if my card has been swiped for this supposed credit check, and it has NOT been swiped! What a load of crap! I finally am able to take the car, 2 1/2 hours late picking up my sister but the rest of my trip was great. I was happy with the car itself, great gas mileage and fun to drive, it was just far too much of a hassle to get it. The fact that their policy differs from website to store is extremely unprofessional, I would have prepared for using my credit card if I knew I was going to need to. This Budget Truck Rental Office was terrific! Jeremy and Blaic were on their game. They provided excellent customer service and they knew how to do their job well. I was in and out of there to rent my moving truck. The truck was all ready to go when I arrived for my pick up time. When one has to move items, they are on a tight moving schedule and timeline.
