Honestly a great service experience tonight. While the pizza is above average, the service I received was excellent. They were busy, and I walked past the hostess and sat at the bar. The bartender, Josh, noticed me almost immediately and took my drink and pizza order. I have to say, I eat out all the time and know great service. My husband and I went out for pizza last night and decided to try someplace new. After reading several of the reviews we decided to give it a try but didn't have very high expectations for the service from previous reviews. When we arrived the hostess went to check availability of a table and let us know that there would be a wait so we went to sit at the bar. Been here twice, and I will be back at some point (it's good, but not my favorite spot). The pizza is good, prices are fair, location and atmosphere are nice, and the staff is great. It would get 4 stars, but I tried the pizza buffet for lunch on my second visit and it wasn't that great. Selection was low, and it took like what seemed forever for new pizzas to come out from the kitchen onto the line. Id give this shithole negative stars if possible. I ordered two regular salads one with french and one with blue cheese dressing. The salads arrive and they are their small side salads with ceasar dressing. I've tried to give this place multiple tries to keep winning me back. Each time they disappoint. If you order delivery either an item is forgotten or the pizza is burnt. Even dinning in we've had burnt pizzas. Tonight I order take out and i was told an hour. Showed up 15 minutes early and it took the full hour. So my food should be piping hot right? Nope. Cold. And forgotten items. So it must have been sitting in the warmer while I sat there for the remaining 15 minutes. I expect better for the prices they charge for pizza. I'm officially done. The people who answer the phones act like you're bothering them and they aren't the friendliest when you walk in. This is my first yelp review. This is how bad they are. We've dined in and picked up and never had any major problems here and the pizza has always been really good (love the BBQ sauce pizza, I forget what it's called). I don't get overly excited about coming here, but I do like coming back every now and then for pizza (haven't tried much else from them). I wouldn't say the service is extraordinary, but it's been good. Not a huge fan of the French fries, the view is nice. The bar area has always been crowded whenever we've gone, but the dining area has had plenty of open tables. We'll go back. read more

The pizza was great! I recommend the butter crust or the stuffed pizza. They have a great Caesar salad too! I go there almost regularly now. This place used to be good. Not anymore. The last 3 times I went in, well, let's just say the service was horrible. The food was obviously sitting under a heat lamp or in the oven too long. I went on their Facebook page to send them a message last month and saw a disgusting and an illegal thing. It's been sitting with me for over a month that I finally felt the need to share. They had posted somebody's check on their Facebook page. Showing their address and their personal account number! This is disgusting. How dare anyone do this especially over $50! If it was even that much. Like I said, this place used to be good. I don't know who is running the restaurant anymore and who is in charge of their social media. But if I were the owner, I would hire somebody new to take care of the social media. I would never ever put up with somebody posting my personal information on a website. We LOVE LOVE LOVE to eat here! We live in McHenry and come here often for the FABULOUS lunch buffet that has a great salad bar with a different salad every day and the best pizza around! They don't give you the cheap normal pizza on this buffet, they give you all of their signatures, thin, Chicago pan, bbq chicken, etc. It's a great value and awesome service!!! read more

Went with a party of 4 on a Thursday afternoon around 5pm . The bar area was pretty hopping , but the seating area was fairly empty . Ordered some Garlic bread as an appetizer. It was hot , but not enough butter or Garlic for our 4 Top. Ordered a Large Thin Crust w/ Sausage and Onions, cooked WELL DONE. I hate soggy, doughy crust ! It was right on the mark . Hot and tasty & they got the WELL DONE part correct . Most Pizza places don't as it takes longer to bake and holds up the oven. Sausage and Onions where fresh and the sauce was very, very good and actually tasted like fresh tomatoes, not canned . Check out the daily drink specials ..I had 2 Mi Tia's and they where excellent and reasonably priced Service is just OK...Mostly high school and college kids as servers. Buddyz is such a great place! Their pizzas are incredible, especially the deep dish and the butter crust! We have a hard time going and NOT getting pizza, but all the other food we've tried has also been delicious! I go to Buddyz several times a month either with friends, family or both. All my experiences have been quite pleasant. The waitstaff is friendly and helpful, the food is delicious and the atmosphere the fun and relaxing. I enjoy the live entertainment and outdoor patio. If I had to find a complaint I would say the sliding glass door is hard for me to open and close but I'm under five feet so that's not saying much ;-) I would and do recommend Buddyz to all my friends and family! read more

I came to Buddyz with my girlfriend on a Tuesday evening looking for some good pizza and a nice atmosphere where we could sit and talk. Everything started out fine, the service was not excellent but acceptable, and we managed to get our pizza just as we were starting to wonder how much longer it would take. And then the national anthem came on. As a patriotic American, no problems there, I put my hand over my heart and carried on. But then it got louder. And then the announcers came on. "Tonight's starting line up for the Chicago Bulls!" It was loud... like front row United Center loud. I looked over at the Kitchen area, eagerly awaiting the players to come running out. But they didn't. Because I wasn't at the game. I was at dinner. And I was annoyed. So we flagged down the waitress, and asked her to turn it down. Time passed. The game went on, still loud. All conversation hopelessly drowned out. Minutes passed, free-throws were shot, fouls were made.The waitress came back "I asked the bartender to turn it down." Ok. Thank-you. And on it went. It never got any quieter. She came back one more time, apologetic (maybe) and explained the whole system was connected and they were having problems turning it down. Oh well. By the time we were able to get the check and box the leftovers we were done trying. The pizza was good, the Bulls played alright, and the service sucked. read more

I have ordered and dined there quite a few times and every time there is something whether it be their service is slow or the food is messed up in some way and not to the quality that it should be. I ordered a pizza the other night from there and the crust was horribly burned and they forgot the tomatoes. it's unfortunate because we are only human and I understand that mistakes happen, but this has been very frequent.
