My Dad and I were right next to Tony V's for many days (our AirBnB was right down the street). On one of the final days of our stay we decided we would order takeout and walk there to pick it up. The place is your typical charming Midwest Italian Joint-- dark, older, but well kept. The service is the reason for the 4 stars. The girl at the counter was incredibly rude and short with us. The food was very good, though. We split a 10" Extra Thin Sausage Pizza and a Chicken Caesar Salad. The pizza was thin and yummy, but I wish it would have had more sauce on it. The salad was great, no complaints. I'd come back if I'm in the general vicinity, and hope the staff is nicer next time. read more

Pizza was delicious. Only issue is their website said a 12" Supreme thin crust was $15.99. Get to the restaurant and it is $24.99. They need to update their website it has probably been years with that $9 increase! read more

Have passed this restaurant hundreds of times and finally had the opportunity to eat there. The wait for my pizzas was quite long, but the finished products were first Superior to other restaurants locally. The size and generous toppings were great. The cheese is gooey and the condiments are generous. My only issues were that the flavors were muted, and there could have been a lot better seasoning in the sauce. The size and weight of these pizzas is extraordinary, and I will definitely be returning. The food is always delicious, but my last experience with an employee wasn't the friendliest. Usually I put my order in and use the coupons they provide on every single box when I pick up. This past time, I placed my order over the phone. I had stated I wanted a speciality pizza that came with mushrooms, but I'm not a "fungi" so I said no to shroomies and to replace with jalapeños if they had them... no problem they said. I went to pick up/ and pay and was told that I already had special service with my pizza, & they will not honor my coupon because I already got a deal when they switched the topping for me... I've worked at a pizza restaurant for years. Never once would I have not honored a coupon that we provided because of the topping switch. Tony V's is our go to for a beer or for a delicious quick meal. We've tried everything from their pasta dishes to their pizza. They also have some great local brewery beers on tap. The bartenders are so kind and are super attentive. The outdoor patio is nice and has a decent amount of seating.The bar itself is small, but there are plenty of tables for dining in or grabbing a drink. My favorite pizza place! Tony V's was one of the first pizza places I tried when I moved into the area, and I've continued to go there since. Good prices and some pretty good sides as well. They also have coupons all the time for their pizzas! I haven't personally sat inside to eat, but it would be a good place for small casual gatherings as it's not very spacious inside. Not much to chose from in terms of decent Chicago Tavern style pizza around... Lots of places have sauce that tastes like tomato paste and cheese that is either frozen or not fresh. Tony V's is probably the best tavern style pizza in Cary, FRG, Crystal Lake. Robust sauce and fresh cheese that pulls apart. A coworker has been raving about this place forever so when I was in the area on Saturday I called him up to join me for some lunchtime pizza. I let him order because I've rarely met a pizza I didn't like. We did the double dough, 1/2 sausage, 1/2 pepperoni and bacon. I thoroughly enjoyed this pizza. The crust was bready and slightly crispy. There were plenty of ingredients on it and I took my time savoring each bite (because I'm trying to lose the last of my holiday pounds.) We ordered a medium and if I wanted to leave stuffed I could have finished my half, but I opted to take a quarter home so I could enjoy it again later. I can see why he likes this place. We sat outside on the cozy patio and enjoyed some apps, dinner, dessert and drinks. We had our dog with and he was able to join us. Our server was absolutely fabulous! Our food was good and the prices were fair. We had the cheesy garlic bread and mozzarella sticks for apps and enjoyed some pasta and meatballs, a Caesar salad wrap, a chicken parm sandwich, and mini corn dogs. All of the food was prepared well and tasted great. The table next to us enjoyed a pizza (looked sooo good) and an Italian combo and they said it was delicious. I'm reviewing my delivery experience. Reasonably priced. Phone reception was decent. The pizza came within an hour. The delivery person was good. I like a nice, greesy, non-chain-tasting sausage pizza. This pizza was SO salty that it was bitter. My parents were over and they could not finish 1 little square (yes they cut it in squares). The flavors were there, it was tasty. I can't put my finger on it, but their pizza has a very distinct flavor. The beef is fresh sliced served on turano rolls and way better than Portillos. The pizza was crispy and flavorful. The service is also amazing! We will be back!!! I decided to try Tony vees because it is very close to my house and I've had their pizza before and it's delicious. I ordered chicken tenders on the phone and the guy was really nice. He asked me what kind of sauce I want I told him marinara. I picked up my food. It cost $7.50. I came home and there were 2 1/2 chicken nuggets in the bag. No napkins I know that's petty but I am in an empty house right now and I really needed them. The chicken tenders were very good but a little salty. I also thought that was pretty pricey for 2 1/2 chicken tenders the sweet lady that rang up my food, stapled a menu to my bag. While I was eating. I looked at the menu and the price for the chicken tenders was $5.99? Not one thing on this menu is 750 I don't have my receipt. I told him I didn't need it because I didn't think I did. If they wanted to charge me for the sauce it's $.75. I just think that's bullshit. I drove there and picked it up. They didn't deliver it. I know times are tough, but they're tough for all of us not just them. I don't like burning my bridges but I at least load my bag with 750 worth of chicken nuggies! read more

I give this pizza a 1 star rating mainly because of the pizza crust. We were looking for a place out near Fox River Grve to get some pizza last week, and my husband found this place online. Sounded good, and I remembered that they used to be located near us in Arlington Heights. We ordered a thin crust pepperoni, and a double dough supreme. The toppings were good on the supreme, but the crust... Worst crust I've ever experienced. No flavor, hard as a rock! My husband hated it. The pepperoni pizza was just strange. My grandson didn't even like it. Again the crust was hard as a rock, and we saw one little pepperoni right in the middle of the pizza. We discovered that they place the pepperoni under the cheese, so we didn't realize it was there until we bit into it. Seriously, I've had better frozen pizza from Aldi. read more

Rosati's is the standard, but we were really hoping to find some hole-in-the-wall dynamite pizza. Tony V's does not make the cut. Our spontaneous pizza order for pick up on Saturday night went half uneaten--absolutely UNHEARD of in our house.
