My Dad and I were right next to Tony V's for many days (our AirBnB was right down the street). On one of the final days of our stay we decided we would order takeout and walk there to pick it up. The place is your typical charming Midwest Italian Joint-- dark, older, but well kept. The service is the reason for the 4 stars. The girl at the counter was incredibly rude and short with us. The food was very good, though. We split a 10" Extra Thin Sausage Pizza and a Chicken Caesar Salad. The pizza was thin and yummy, but I wish it would have had more sauce on it. The salad was great, no complaints. I'd come back if I'm in the general vicinity, and hope the staff is nicer next time.

Yummy cheese fries. The service is awesome everyone is so nice. I love the BLT pizza you need to try it and the bacon cheese fries

Tried the pepperoni and sausage pizzas here from a carryout order and I thought the food was alright. The pizza is full of toppings with a nice braided crust and isn't too salty.

Tony V's is our go to for a beer or for a delicious quick meal. We've tried everything from their pasta dishes to their pizza. They also have some great local brewery beers on tap. The bartenders are so kind and are super attentive. The outdoor patio is nice and has a decent amount of seating. The bar itself is small, but there are plenty of tables for dining in or grabbing a drink. They also do a lot of take out business.

It has that true mom-and-pop, local favorite feel that makes you want to keep coming back. Being located right in downtown Cary gives it even more character. The deep dish pizza is fantastic, with a really interesting twist of hot honey that takes it to another level. It's different in the best way. If you're planning to dine in, make sure you give yourself plenty of time. The line for a table can get long, but the staff works incredibly hard to seat everyone as quickly as possible. If you're in more of a rush, I'd definitely recommend carryout--it's absolutely worth the wait either way. A true local gem.

I had a long commute home, so I left it uncut. It smelled so good, I wish I could have had a piece in the ride home. When we finally made it home after his long bus ride, I cut it and heated up a few slices at 250 in the oven. It was delicious....it would certainly be better fresh. Super crispy crust, sweet sauce without the typical tomato chunks like Lou's would be. Excellent cheese pulls and really flavorful when all the notes are combined. (About $23) The signage is not the best at night, so know it's attached to a meat store, deli like. Once I figure it out I went in to wait. The place was packed at 7:30 on a Wednesday. The bar is in the center left, with the to go pick up at one side. The tables flank all 180 degrees of the bar. Lots of people. Worth the hype, excited for the next 3.5 years of my son playing Cary Grove so we can try the Uncle Jerry's hot pepperoni pizza and the spinach as well. Check them out!

I've ordered from this place about 10 times since they took over the old Romanescos (I believe it was called). I apologize if I spelled it wrong I never ordered from there before. When it comes to thin crust pizza being that I grew up on the northwest side of Chicago. I prefer Tavern style. A lot of people don't know what that is anymore but true Chicago ones do. Where I grew up it was a big Italian neighborhood and that is the standard type of pizza to a Chicago ones. Not deep dish. I've been living out here for 21 years and although I still frequent the city for certain foods as well as Ben making pizza from scratch which is time-consuming, I hadn't found a halfway decent authentic Chicago tavern style pizza out here up until a few years ago. Originally, I was ordering from Rosati's in Cary and I was somewhat impressed. Originally Rosati's was a family pizzeria that franchised their name and recipe off, but I've noticed that a lot of of their franchise locations as long as they hold true to the original recipe is pretty decent. Some aren't great. When I came to the one in Cary, I started noticing they started skimping on toppings so I stopped. I then tried the Pizza Stop right down the block from Rosati's. It's a pizza I'd like, love the crust however, they always always followed special instructions however, the sauce has a little too much garlic in it for me, which doesn't agree with me. Then, Gallos opened up. I tried them and was extremely impressed. The crust was crispy, the sauce is very tasty. And they initially followed my request for any toppings to be placed above the cheese rather than underneath. Why do I like toppings above the cheese? Because it cooks and crips more. When you're dealing with sausage, pepperoni, mushroom, onion, it just taste so much better. When it's buried underneath the cheese in my opinion, it's slimy, wet, and greasy. The last five times I ordered Gallo's and requested toppings above the cheese. It doesn't happen. It did initially but not anymore. Tonight I ordered a pizza requested toppings on top. I specifically told the kid on the phone that the last time I requested it it didn't happen and she told me that she would make sure it did. And to my disappointment after the fifth time it didn't happen. Once I received it, mushrooms were buried underneath. I called to advise and the young girl on the phone simply apologized and said "the next time I'll write your request down". My response back was "you should always write everybody's order and request down on a ticket". My guess is that she typed it into a computer on the register and figured it would magically happen. Again, I don't want to inflict lack of business to the people that own Gallows. But if they can't fulfill, simple requests, then I'll move on. I told the girl on the phone that there's a lot of places in the neighborhood that they have competition with. If they reply back acknowledging this review, they might say well we were busy that particular night but again it's been five times and there's times I order during the week when it's dead.
