Tony V's II, Cary IL. First they forgot the pizzas, then they burned the pizzas. How is that possible? Phoned in an order for pick-up. "It'll be ready in 25 minutes." 25 minutes later, I walk in to the restaurant and say I'm there for my order. The High School girl behind the counter looks up my order on the computer. Her eyes grow wide with shock and worry. What could be the reason for that? She disappears into the kitchen. Eventually, she comes back, "It'll be a few minutes, but I can ring you up now." No problem, ring me up. I pay for the two XL pizzas I had ordered over the phone. Then I stand there and wait. And wait. And wait. And then I waited some more. Meanwhile, a large group of drunks drown out three TVs. After a while, Country Music gets turned on and drowns out the drunks. I'm still standing there, waiting. 30 minutes later (so fifty-five minutes since I originally ordered on the phone) the pizzas finally are brought out. Obviously, the pizzas had not been started until after I arrived and after I paid. No acknowledgement from the employees of the 55 minute wait. No apologies for me having to stand there for 30 minutes amongst the drunks and blaring music. To top it all off: Got home... the pizzas are burnt! The crust is dark brown, beyond crusty and just plain burnt. If the toppings, sauce and cheese are any good, it's impossible to tell because the burnt crust destroys the taste. How can a pizza place first forget to make the pizzas and then manage to burn them? Tony V's II did it. Absolutely awful, and never again. read more

My family and I are addicted to this place and its food. When anyone says Pizza all I can think of is Tony V's. Awesome cheesiness and the best sauce. Pepperoni, Sausage and Mushroom MMMMM! Or try the "Western" SOOO GOOOOD! Whenever we go our kids always get taken care of, the staff is wonderful. They are always helpful and full of smiles. They own it on Chicago style deep dish too! We have relatives from California visit and of course they want a Chicago style pizza, Oh Yeah! we're going to Tony V's! Love this place! And since my brother in law was in town we decided it was a good opportunity to play guitars out somewhere live. So what better place to get the led out than Tony V's. With a couple of beers and full stomachs we got to rock out a couple of tunes each and didn't seem to bother anyone. My father in law even got a cameo, all on very short notice too. The gluten free pizza dough tastes pasty and raw even though it's fully cooked. Galati's nearby has a much better crust and their pizza is a little bigger too 12" vs 10" I believe. read more

Shocker, staff being rude. Never in my 20 years with my husband, have i ever debated a bill. Restraunt or bar. We spent maybe 2 hours here. Ordered couple rounds for whole bar. Cause we wanted to. 1st bartender was nice, her name was amy. 2nd bartender was fine at first until she overcharged me. Her name was NICOLE she claimed i"owed another round". I checked my online bank statement. I was right. She Called me names, after serving me 20 minutes after I told her I got charge 1 one extra time. She called me names. Told me i was over served, when in fact I had 1 drink, 1 shot. Other patrons were over served. That's it. She then called me more names and her husband who was the "owner". Laughed at the situation, that's it. All I'm going to say, is that I don't live in Cary. That I was in the area, looked like a cute bar, stopped at it. Never will I go back. Wanted to try the pizza here based on the positive yelp reviews. Got thin crust pepperoni. It was NOT good, and I don't think the cook was just having an off day. The crust tasted like Bisquick. The cheese tasted fake, not 100% real cheese. The pepperoni was greasy and had little flavor. The dominant flavor in the sauce was powdered garlic. Never again. This is an old school Ma and Pa pizza joint. If you go in with that level of expectation, you will dig it. This place is perfect for ordering take out pizza. Go in there and have an ice cold beer at the bar while your pizzas are finishing. Bartenders are great and call you "Hun". Prices were fair, pizzas were hot, beers were cold, staff was nice, and the decor has the look of a building that's been added-on to over and over again for fifty years which adds to the overall vintage pizza feel. We have ordered from Tony V's II several times, and they've been excellent every time. They've always delivered great pizza on time, and they have good coupon deals too. Tonight, we ordered two pizzas and a basket of mozzarella sticks. When we got the order, they mistakenly delivered a small order of mozzarella sticks instead of the basket. One quick phone call, and the owner was on the phone. Not only did he apologize for the error, he had a new order delivered within 10 minutes. Excellent food, excellent customer service. read more

Nice Little Place. The owner is top notch, and is a very friendly man. It is a small pizza joint with a small bar, and decent food. His prices are about the best in the area and his sandwiches are very good. Recommend the Italian Sausage and Beef, top notch. He has several specials during the week which bring me and my buddies in. The only thing I wish was that his pizza sizes were larger. The large one is about he size of a medium in comparison to other local spots. The service is generally slow though, so go there and expect to have a beer or two before the food gets to you. However, the outside sitting is nice in good weather, with a flair for a euro café ambience. Inside temp control could use some help, being small the kitchen raises a lot of heat and the little window unit he has never seems to catch up on warm days. His bartenders and servers however have never been top notch. Tony is a great guy, but he would be better served hiring a step up. Most locals are pretty decent and its s small quiet place that is very well priced for decent food. I would give it 5 stars except for the level of service. read more

We LOVE Tony V's in Cary. We order out for pickup all the time. It's my favorite pizza, and I am a VERY picky person when it comes to Pizza. Their fried ravioli is homemade, absolutely AMAZING and it's their grandmothers recipe. It's a local, small town type bar/restaurant, but has a homey, cozy feel to it. It has your standard bar, some tables inside,and has a few tables outside. They sometimes have karaoke, bags tournements, and they've been known to hold fundraisers to benefit locals who have been sick and in need of financial help. Overall, we love Tony V's II. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I'd like the inside to be a tad bit nicer. read more

I first tried the pizza here when I moved down the street about two years ago. I have never once been disappointed in the service, delivery time, or flavors. The pizza is very good, and if you like stuffed pizza try it out. The calzones are also huge and well filled for the price. This was my go to place. However with the staff getting rude and the quality of the pizza going down. I won't order again. When I did complain l got even more attitude. Just unacceptable. Just had another quality tasty pizza. Carry out. We've eaten in many many times and the food is always the same. Good. Dinning in eating can be sketchy depending on how much crowd. But if it's not super busy the staff is attentive. It's our favorite for local thin crust pizza and cocktails. read more

Stopped there for lunch the other day. Grabbed a pulled pork sandwich, fries and a coke for under $9. The pulled pork was really, really good. Not fatty, very tender, not drowned in sauce. Surely the best I've had lately. (I would recommend to the chef, that they use a kaiser roll instead of a hamburger bun, and add some pickle slices... that would knock it out of the park!) The fries were crinkle cut, and cooked just right. The service was pleasant. As other diners have noted, it's a old time small pizza joint, that serves really good food, but it's a bar with a few tables. It was quiet over the lunch hour, but I've been coming here since I was kid. Great place to eat. I can't recall ever having a bad experience with the food or service. read more

They make a pretty good pizza here, arguably they're among the best in the area. I ordered thin crust for pickup. The dough was crisp and tasty. The edge of the pizza had a cool swirled shape that made it even better. The pizza sauce tasted delicious and they put the perfect amount on. The sausage was pretty tasty though perhaps a little on the mild side in terms of Italian sausage flavor... The pepperoni was of the thin pre-sliced variety and spicy... But overall it was very good and satisfied my pizza craving. I'll definitely order pizza here again and recommend it to anyone... read more

We had 3 large pizza delivered tonight. Worst looking za i've ever seen. Look like the Digiorno "Journey of a Delivery pizza commercial. Everything was slid to one side. Waited 1 full hour for double dough pizza(weds is half price dine in) had to flag the waitress down and ask where food was. Ordered chicken tenders for our daughter and those took an hour as well... they bring out the pizza and it had incorrect toppings. Needless to say we walked out incredibly disappointed. This was our first visit here and they failed miserably and the waitress could have cared less. F for failure. Not sure if it's self service at Tony's . After waiting 15 minutes for a waitress, we just gave up and left. Maybe 5 people in the whole restaurant plus a party out back. I'm thinking we might have waited a VERY long time for the waitress and food. Don't bother going to Tony's . Much better choices in Cary for pizza. read more

I am originally from Chicago and moved to Denver 10 years ago. Oh, how I miss good pizza!!! My friend and I came to town and walked into Tony V's on a whim. WOW! We were pleasantly surprised! Tony made us feel like we were part of the family. The pizza was FANTASTIC, the service was out-of-this-world and the atmosphere has a great local bar feel. Just tried Tony V's pizza for the first time. Plesantly suprised. It didn't suck. Flavorful crust, with a little twist on the outer ring, and I think they brush it wilth something. LOADS of cheese, and I did not order extra cheese, this was normal. Good amount of ingredients, that were fresh. Will definitely be ordering from there again. This place has the worst service ever for a small town joint they should be able to handle three tables and a few people at the bar. We order a round of drinks that never came to the table good thing the noy so smart bartender did not put them on our bill. I don't think I will ever get food there again either for 90 dollars we should have had steak dinner. Just went there for dinner just to have a nice Saturday night out at a bar. Got there at maybe 8:45. Get told to pick any seat. So we sit down at a table in the corner and order drinks (which by the way were absolutely delicious, only reason this is getting the one instead of 0) then they were setting up for karaoke, which we were excited for then asked to move. Fine. We order our dinner. My boyfriend got a small pizza and hot wings (they brought no silverware) and I got a chicken sandwich (which was a piece of bread with some shredded lettuce and tomato chunks and a few once frozen chicken cubes on it) and I ask for it with cheddar cheese which was an option on the menu. She said they don't have cheddar. Then we were excited to see karaoke. The server saw that my boyfriend was done, although I was not, came and gave us a box and a check. We were not ready to leave, we were going to stay and order more drinks and watch karaoke. We felt very unwelcome. The server, Melissa, was on her phone the entire time. We thought this place was going to be our new "go to" place since we live right down the street. Never coming back. read more
