I like the food and the service is decent. They have this really great patio areas.... THAT THEY ARE NEVER SEATING! Is really annoying.

We live in Holt so we frequent Buddies as its close to home(1 mile) and the food is decent. The staff is always very nice and accommodating but they are always busy so it can take awhile to get your food. We always get the Buddies wrap or salad which are both very good. read more

Love going to Buddies, they have great food and a casual atmosphere. Their servings on many items including the nachos and quesadillas are huge, you can definitely share with someone. We love going as a family to get the deep dish pizza, it is delicious and a good price. We have had a few occasions that there were problems with our orders, but they have always been great about making it right. read more

Third time in. Sat in screened porch area. The server was training a new employee. He followed her everywhere. I wish she would have introduced him when they first came to our table. I still don't know his name. The food was good as usual. Asked for veggies instead of fries with my sandwich. Got a nice dish of grilled veggies. Delish! Service was ok. read more

Went there on a Sunday with a large group of soccer players and parents. Buddies was right on top of our order and delivery. We had very limited time to get the kids fed and to another game. The food was delish. The staff was wonderful and got us in and out. THANK YOU AGAIN! read more

Stopped into this location for an afternoon snack a week ago. Of course it wasn't busy mid-afternoon, so we just soaked in the ambiance. Large, open bar and grill area. Some TVs showing sports, but not overwhelming. Billiards and darts room and a banquet/poker room in the back. Buzztime trivia, so you know I was happy with that! I only had an appetizer and a soda while we were there, but I definitely plan to return during my next vist to Holt. read more

Wow, this place really has gone downhill. My friend and I ordered the French Dip Sandwich, which is usually a safe bet at most places, I have to say it was the worst french dip I have ever had. In fact, if was probably one of the worst sandwiches I have ever had. My friend agreed with me as well. We also ordered the cheese bread which was not bad, but quite greasy. We've come to this Grill several times for lunch. Every time we have to wait on either a waitress or our food. The wait staff is always changing and the cooks must be also. Today was the last straw. Got there at 12:00 noon. Was waited on rather promptly, But waited for our food for 45 minutes . When I got mine it was already cold. That was the chicken breast special. I did not send it back because I didn't want to wait another 45 minutes. The waitress was nice. but when you only have less than an hour for lunch, do not come here. Management was notified but did little to help. I paid the bill and left. This is our last time to this place. There are far too many other places to go for lunch than here. read more

This is a standard bar serving standard bar food. The food is good though, and portions are generally large. I like the burgers and nachos. The other sandwiches are good as well. I don't think you can go wrong here, though you won't be astounded. The atmosphere is lacking, however. Looks a little like somebody's finished basement. But that doesn't matter too much, I guess. read more

Ordered 2 pizzas for take out. I ordered BBQ chicken and we got the red hot kind with hot sauce. The other was made correctly, a supreme with the peppers on the side and green olives instead of black olives. The olives were mostly end pieces. Both were way undercooked, we just wasted $35 on food for the kids that won't get eaten. Previous experience, ordered a pizza that was overcooked but at least edible, the crust was disposed of and removed some of the scorched cheese and replaced it with some out of the fridge. For the amount of money spent, it is not worth it. Another experience a few years back, ordered drinks and it took them over 15 minutes to get mine so I went to the end of the bar and witnessed them making a few daiquiris and they didn't have enough mix left so they filled about 1/4 of my glass with water from the spout. I haven't went there for drinks since, we did do a lot of take out from there since they did have some decent food. Will not be returning at this point. read more

Normally the food is good, can't say it is all the time but tonight takes the cake. I ordered the special fried chicken dinner. I received the house salad and that was good. The service is always slow so don't go for lunch if you only have an hour. I get my dinner and I go for my favorite piece the leg. I bite in and feel cold on my teeth. I touch where I bit and it was freezing cold. I tell the waiter and he takes it back to the kitchen. About 15 minutes later he comes back, you can tell the rest of the chicken was refired. I start at the breast being the thickest piece, it was so dry and tasteless. The breading was so loaded with grease you couldn't taste anything. I can save you the trouble, don't order the fried chicken special. I get the bill and I was hives half off my meal. I guess that was about right since I only got to eat half of it. This is my 3rd bad experience here and I have emailed them each time with no response, so it appears they don't care. read more

The restaurant is nice, the inside is large and updated. The drinks are good, lots of good beer on tap. The problem is that the food has gotten pretty bad over the last few years. It used to be fresh and well made for a good price, but now it is all frozen, overcooked and bland. Also, the waitstaff has gotten bad. There is a middle aged blonde woman (that we always seem to get) that is TERRIBLE!!! She has spilled drinks on me without apology, is rude and ignores us every time. We stopped by Buddies Grill a friend recommendation , We where seated in the corner 2 of us we sat there 20 minutes waiting for the waitress to show up they served a family of 4 and a family of 6 before us in the same area, we finally got up and found the manager for service, We ordered our food burger and fries and a french dip with fries I was expecting a hand made burger but got a GFS burger was bland with there spices on it, we had to wait for the fries and refills where slow,seemed everything was GFS and just warmed up, Will give this place a 2nd chance to see what happens. read more

I work close to Buddies and have a few co-workers who like it so I end up there about once a month. Service is slow and food is average so it's not a place I ever choose to go. Today I was charged for extra ranch dressing. Tells me a lot about the priorities of the owner when they add chargers like that onto the bill. They are certainly more interested in their bottom line than in my dining experience. I'll be avoiding this restaurant in the future. Went today for the father's day. Service was terrible! When we walked in the "Please wait to be seated" sign was up. There was a woman at the hostess station but she never looked up or acknowledged we were standing there until someone told her "there are people here". She then turned to the person and said "yeah I know." Sill never looked up to acknowledge us and went back to marking the tables on her list. When she finally did acknowledge us it was "You can sit where ever then walked away." We waited a minute while surveying the restaurant and trying to decide where to sit. In the mean time a very nice blond (I believe bartender) came up and asked "if we had been helped?" We informed her we were told we could sit where ever. She was honestly the friendliest highlight of the whole experience. We then decided to sit on the patio area and waited close to 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge we were sitting there. In the mean time three other waitresses walked by and never said a word. When the waitress finally did come to our table she asked what we would like for drinks and told us there was juice and milk on the buffet. We ordered water and waited probably 5 minutes for her to come back with them. When she came back we asked if they had menu's as it was our first time coming on a Sunday. She informed us there only had the buffet until noon which we were fine with and so we decided on. My water glass was dirty and orange pop all over the side of it and the water had a slight hint of orange pop as well. I passed on the water after 2 sips. We had to wonder around and eventually get silverware off another table as the waitress never thought to bring it either. The only thing she was prompt about bringing was the check when we were in the middle of our first plates. The buffet had a nice selection and the all of the items seems were hot and fresh. Juice selection was also very extensive with Apple, OJ, Grapefruti, Tomato, Cranberry. Overall I would give the food an 4 out of 5 but the service a was just so terrible it ruined the whole experience for us. read more
