Was recommended the lemonade which was so delicious (pretty sweet) and then had the mamas combo and also the duck pierogies. Incredible meal and quality just like the downtown location. Would definitely be back!

There was a nice feel to the room as it was not too loud. A great ambiance. We were given our choice of a couple of tables when we arrived. The service was okay. For appetizers my husband had the goulash soup and I had Hunter Spatzle. My husband said his soup was not as flavourful as he was expecting. My spatzle was supposed to have a mushroom gravy on it but there was not much gravy and the spatzle was not well drained. For entrees my husband had zigeuner schnitzel and I had the sole with baby shrimp and Riesling sauce. The schnitzel is very thin as opposed to the thicker cuts that are served at most Bavarian restaurants that we have gone to. It was very tender but my husband was disappointed with his meal as he prefers the thicker piece of pork. The sauce was just all tomatoes and he said it was very bland and not very interesting. My sole was good but not exceptional. We were going to have dessert but by the time our server came to ask if we wanted dessert we had lost interest. It is a beautiful room, the prices are average but overall we found the food was not to our liking. The ladies washroom was out of toilet paper. Awkward.

We shared a beef borscht and the pork cabbage rolls (most of their mains are $15-$18)! I'd definitely recommend the cabbage rolls as the sauce was savoury and hearty; honestly both dishes were very filling as is characteristic of Ukrainian food. The borscht was more tomatoey than I'm used to which I didn't like as much (I usually have a more beet based one) but their sour cream was fresh and amazing quality. Also comes with some raw garlic and rye bread. I was definitely curious about their pastries and drinks so might come back another time for that!

The Sharlotka (apple cake) is a must have; seriously an apple pie has nothing on this. Honorable mention goes to the pistachio roll. The sausage bun and pork pyrizhky were a bit more on the dry side, while the apple turnover was a bit too strong on the cardamom for my taste. This was purely a bakery review, but they offer a cafe style sit down area to enjoy their savory restaurant menu. There's also a kid's area with toys, art and books to keep them entertained as well. Looking forward to returning to try more items.
