    Schnitzel

Delicious. Highly recommend. I agree with some of the reviews that the service is on the slower side, but it didn't bother us. Gave us more time to drink booze. Just don't show up starving. The owner is very friendly and she was acting as server and cook. So, be patient. My family will be coming back soon. Goulash = perfect Schnitzel = nice and thin..get the mushroom gravy with it, you won't regret this.

The floor dining area is very spacious and nicely decorated. Tables are set nicely and there is a pleasant and open atmosphere. Our server and the one that sat us was a younger woman and she was very nice and receptive to our requests and any questions we might have had. She was very busy serving all the other tables as well so at the end of the dinner was a bit hard to get a hold of for the bill but she must have had a sixth sense as she came with the bill thereafter. There was another older server who briefly came and removed one of our plates but other than that we had no interaction with her. We kind of felt she was deliberately avoiding us as I don't think there was any eye contact at all. (Maybe being over sensitive? As we were the only Asians in the restaurant at the time- take what you will of it) Other than that the food I felt was delicious, we started off with prawns in garlic butter herb sauce. These are very flavourful and cooked perfect. The beef rouladin was tart tender and full of flavor; the schnitzel was very thin.. thinner than I prefer but it wasn't over crusted and tasted good. The sausage I feel was the best. Best one I think I've had so packed full of flavor and so delicious I saved it for the last few of my bites. The spaetzle seemed fresh and homemade this I can't verify as I'm no expert but it seemed so. The accompanying sauce on the proteins was just the perfect amount and was good. My wife had the steelhead trout dish which I don't have much input the describe here. Last was the blackforest cake. Best one I've had in awhile. A few months back I reviewed old bavaria haus and their cake used to be good before they were under new management now its a store bought piece of.. yeah anyways. This is the cake from before which I missed. Beautiful soft cake, pleasantly moist cherries, cold creamy whipped cream and all together the right sweetness...heaven. so hard to find Good black forest cake. Wife had the cheesecake, which was light and delightful in its own rights but my mind can't get off of the blackforest. Over all a nice meal.

Very delicious. The owner makes the food herself. Tastes homemade, nothing tasted pre-made, so be patient if it takes longer than the restaurants that serve you instant garbage food. The mushroom gravy is to die for

The owner use to run the Bavaria house. Her food is phenomenal and the restaurant is spotless. The schnitzel are excellent. For lunch we often have the schnitzel sandwich. Her salad dressing is to die for.

Had a nice lunch with my parents. Prices are very reasonable and staff was friendly. It seemed like there was only one person serving so don't come here if you're in a rush. We'll be back to try the Black Forest cake!

    What I.

The Tannenbaum German Food Casual Family friendly Large dining room Licensed Free Mall parking Food good Service good Finally made it here for the first time. It was busy but service was still quite attentive considering they only had 1 server. The small lunch menu offered good & economical options. We loved the Garnelen Croissant (shrimp croissant) ! Ceaser salad was not creamy nor garlicky and a bit too sweet. There's room for improvement IMO. Jaegerpfanne: We appreciated the el dente of spatzel (noodles), the viscosity of mushroom sauce was just right. The pork tenderloin tho could be more tender. However, the taste of the entire plate was good.

Amazing schnitzel! I recommend splitting a goulash soup and the Tannenbaum Platter. Upgrade the schnitzel to full size for $6. Black Forest cake is great too!

Friendly staff and owner. Chill and nice open space with good lighting. Cute decor and reminds me of my Oma. Quite a few selections for drinks and food. DELICIOUS FOOD!!!!! Need to try everything on the menu and yummy dessert. Everything homemade, even their sauerkraut (not as sour as the ones in the supermarket). Veggies are so fresh and no too salty. They have one of the BEST schnitzels I've had. HIGHLY RECOMMEND and so going back again! Parking lot right outside but walkable to bus stops. A bit further down but still walkable to sky train station.

Food's ok. Service does not live up to German stereotypes though. Slow and inefficient.

Tables were moving in and out pretty quickly. I was really happy to see a $10 appetizer section. Tried the mushroom caps and risotto balls and loved them both! They also have a great cocktail list. Was definitely not expecting for a live magician to be there! He walked around and performed tricks for each individual table, how fun!! The daily events they have and the speakeasy ambiance make this bar truly stand out as a gem. Prices are quite reasonable as well.

The place is quirky and on theme. The servers were all dressed up according to the theme as well. They were courteous and offered us free Prosecco since the bartender was delayed to arrive due to traffic. The cocktails were really good - I had an old fashioned and a negroni. I would've liked more fancier cocktails for the price though. One thing about the place is that the tables are quite close to each other so it can get a bit louder as the night progresses. Maybe fewer tables with shorter time slots might be a good idea. We only tried the stuffed mushroom caps and it was delicious. The program of the night was a magic show. The magician was witty and had quite a few tricks up his sleeve. I would like to check out the psychic reading in future too!
