We have heard good things about this place and have literally driven by it a hundred times as it is in passing of the freeway in downtown Everett. Me and the Mrs decided to give it a try and it didn't disappoint. The space is quaint and maintains the history of its past. We sampled mainly from the happy hour menu- enjoying a refreshing pear salad, and perfectly breaded fish and chips. The one mediocre item was the streak skewers which were under seasoned and a bit overpriced. AFTER our meal and as the bills were handed to us we were told of the 20% gratuity, per ticket, for our "LARGE PARTY" was required. Great food and normally great atmosphere. We made reservations ahead of time, but apparently too many folks were taking more time than normal which pushed us into a dark overflow area with no view. Food and service was great, but they were a bit overwhelmed which made the experience slightly less than awesome. Really enjoyed my first visit here. My daughter was craving chowder after jiu jitsu practice and this restaurant came up on yelp as having delicious chowder. Unfortunately for us they only serve it on certain nights and this particular night was not one of them. We did luck out though as the soup of the day was tomato basil and my daughter devoured it. I loved that it appeared really balanced, not to cream heavy. I ordered the coconut prawns off the appetizer menu and they were perfect. The bread and roasted pepper garlic butter is phenomenal. I appreciate that they use small loaves so we didn't tank up on bread before the meal. We split the salted caramel crunch cake and oohed and aahed over it's deliciousness the whole time. I ordered a glass of Butter chardonnay and it just didn't taste quite right. The server didn't hesitate to open a brand new bottle and bring me a new glass. That kind of customer-is-always-right response really impressed me and guaranteed I will be coming back. It seems like you really can't go wrong here no matter what you order. Most of the tables on the dining side of the restaurant were 4-tops, so I'd say this is not the place for a super large group. They do have two 6-person round tables at the front of the restaurant. The décor is classic northwest pub with wood carvings and a moose head. My only recommendation would be to add some more high end wines and spirits to the menu. I didn't see any wines on the menu I could get truly excited about. It was your classic 'table wine' selections: Ste Michelle, 14 Hands, Radius, etc. I was delighted to see that they had Woodford Reserve and Basil Haydens bourbons. Owner Brian Swanson and team made sure the birthday party for our 101 y/o mother last night was a spectacular event! Twenty-two family members gathered in the banquet room and Cheyenne went beyond the call of duty serving us in the warmth of Buck's atmosphere. The food was excellent right down to the baked salmon, roasted Brussel sprouts, wedge salad, etc. The chef even prepared pan-fried oysters for mom as a special request, as they are not on the menu!! I've been to this restaurant twice, once while packed, and the other when empty and the service, food, and atmosphere did not change. This is a wonderful place where the customer is first and service is their priority. The food is outstanding. Perfectly cooked and oh so flavorful. Their prices are commensurate with other restaurants and not overpriced at all. We're always looking for a new restaurant to add to our repertoire and Buck's makes the cut. My hubby raved about their fish and chip that it was better than famous places we tried in Vancouver. So I had been waiting to try their fish n chips. This is a mix review. The ambient Was nice. It decorated with animal heads in a hip way. The service was good. The cod fish n chips came w Fries and tartar sauce. The portion was good. 3 pieces of cod for $13 for brunch. The batter had some kind of herbs. It was light and crispy. The cod was thick cut and fresh. The homemade tartar sauce was very good right amount of sour and pickle. This was a 4.5 stars dish. We also ordered Ruben sandwich Which was a disaster. It was the worst Ruben I had. The meat was overly salted. The bread was burnt and soaky. It came with fries which was nice but too salty. They gave thousands island dressing aside. I couldn't Taste's the sauerkraut. Maybe because it was overwhelmed by the saltiness from the beef. The price was reasonable for $10. 12/28/16 Came back here for happy hour. Very good value We had 2peices of cod for $7 Soup of the day $2 Tenderloin skewers (3) $8 Fried ravioli Everything was good. The food is consistently great and well prepared. While I have not "Checked In" I have eaten here over 10 times. I really like Buck's specials. My favorites are the pot roast dinners and the roast turkey. This restaurant slow roasts these meat options each week and serves them on specific days. The servers are always pleasant. The restaurant is clean. It has a full service bar The details in this historic building with the wood accents bring a rustic, historic atmosphere. My only concern is the bathroom. The bathroom is extreme small and difficult to maneuver. This place has parking on the street. read more

Really cool restaurant. Easy parking, but the area is in the older more industrial Everett. Had the Halibut and it was good but a little dry. My wife was craving a steak salad so desiring to support local business we tried Buck's. A co-worker mentioned to me how good their duck was. Unfortunately the duck was no longer on the menu. I called and ordered a steak salad medium and 3 piece fish an chips. The food was ready to pick up about 20 minutes later. It was odd seeing people sitting in the restaurant, but it looked like the staff was taking all the precautions they could. The bar seating was closed and every other table in the main dining room was unavailable allowing proper distancing. Staff was very friendly. The bill, with tip, was $53, which included a $1 take out fee which seemed ticky-tacky during covid but whatever. I picked up my food and drove 10 minutes home. My 3-piece fish and chips only had 2 pieces of fish and 15 French fries. The meal looked so small I literally counted the French fries. The fish was real good, I just wish I had that third piece that I paid for. My wife's steak salad was in sad shape. Less than 4 oz of steak. All of the spinach and tomatoes were wilted. She ended up throwing all of the wilted food away. What was left looked like a Safeway bag salad with 4 pieces of steak. She was very disappointed. Bomb food everytime. Period. Any complaint... I wish they had oso bucco all the time... That is a favorite of mine. And almost no one serves it .... And i know its a chore to prepare .. When done correctly... It literally is days longs process. The demi glaze.. The braising the simmering the broasting!! All the great things that the dish is ... making it great. I am more than willing to pay the price.... All other items are very good. Only thing i have had there recently that was just ok... Was the risotto. I prefer it creamier... With saffron wine . parm and Lemon... . either seafood or mushroom. The risotto i had there a few weeks ago was too plain. Bland. It was Cooked correctly... A touch al dente. Which is proper... Just not exciting. Otherwise all appetizers were good. Service was fine... Coffee came after desert ( a bit out of timing)... But overall a good dining experience. We have gone for mother's day. A jump back in time with this one!!! Historical building in Everett with ALL the charm. The space is narrow but lively. The staff is very knowledgable on the food choices and offers great recommendations when asked. If you are brave, you can peek in the windows on the side of the building and watch the chefs at work making everything from scratch. I chose the Ribeye with Mashed potatoes and fresh veggies. I mean hard to mess up but when it's done right like it is at Bucks, it makes you crave it like a home cooked meal. Everything melts, the steak was rare how i like it and it was prepared with love obviously because I have had it multiple times now. The mashed potatoes were light and creamy with a hint of garlic, perfect! Veggies Al dente as they should be. The lighting is a bit dim so it has a dive bar feel but the locals hang out and often share great stories at the bar. There is even some outdoor seating when the weather is nice. A short walk down the street you can find the Arena where you can catch a Silvertips game or a concert. Parking has never been an issue, plenty around the area. read more

My girlfriend and I met here for an early dinner and to catch up with each others lives. Free street parking can be found. Discover is an accepted form of payment. Beware of a $2 split plate charge. Order creatively to avoid that silly up-charge. There is a small outdoor seating area with three tables.The view is Hewitt street. Inside is small and dimly lit. A nice wine selection is offered; however, if you wish to bring in your own bottle of wine, the corkage fee is $15. I brought in my own bottle of wine for us to share. Happy Hour is offered Monday-Friday from 3pm-6pm and is offered throughout the entire restaurant. My girlfriend ordered the Baked Eggplant for $12: ricotta cheese filled and baked with marina and provolone served with dinner salad. She enjoyed her meal choice. I ordered the Black Bean Burger for $10: hot & spicy with pepper jack cheese and avocado. I also chose the dinner salad. If you like Costco's black bean burgers (I love them) then this burger is for you since if appeared to be a Costco BBB . I was impressed with the generous avocado portion. Staff was friendly enough. We ate here for brunch last Sunday morning and loved it! We were visiting the Seattle and Everett areas and found this little gem. It was my son's 15th birthday and we asked him to decide what he wanted to eat. He did his research, found this place online. We are very happy he did. It's a cool little bar and restaurant on a corner in downtown Everett. It wasn't too busy. The staff was SUPER nice. We wish we could find more places like this at home. The food was very good. Try the Monte Cristo, you won't be disappointed. My wife had the Corned Beef Hash, that too was super tasty. One of their brunch specials this day was Capt'n Crunch French Toast. My son had it and was impressed with it. Very light coating of the popular cereal, not too heavy. If you are in the area, give it a try! read more

Went here today just as they opened at 11:30. Met friends for Lunch. My friend and I had the Spicy Chicken Sandwich. Yum don't know how they make jalapeño bacon, but it is great. Hubs has cod and chips which he said were good. My other friend had the Shrimp and pear salad. It was an amazing looking salad and she really enjoyed it. Lots of shrimp and a large piece of fried cheese on it too. Sorry no pictures. Service was attentive. Always a little dark in rear but next to windows was cold because it was snowing. This is one of our regular local restaurants in our rotation. Before Covid we would enjoy the rustic lodge style environment for either a simple drink and app or a quick weekend lunch or for a nice night out. Cozy environment, great staff, quality food makes it a solid spot in Everett. A couple of the favorites are the chicken Parm (mostly due to the obscenely delicious fettuccine alfredo that accompanies it), Fish and chips, black and blue steak salad, Reuben sandwich...really, I haven't gone wrong yet, and I doubt you can either. As for this post Covid state that we are in, we have continued ordering that from miss restaurant with regularity. They do an exceptional job packaging their food and the entire pick up process is quick and painless. Great spot, check it out. read more

A little gem in North Everett just off the freeway. Atmosphere is a weird mix of casual and fine dining. A mashup of old saloon and ski lodge with stuffed wild game hanging from the walls. They fit a lot of tables and chairs in a small space. You will have to squeeze through to your table and plan on getting to know your neighbors by the end of your meal. The food is great, with chef inspired specials daily. Something for everyone can be found on the menu too. I had the walnut crusted halibut and pecan pie for dessert. Leave room for dessert, you won't be sorry. Next time you are hungry and stuck in traffic on I-5 take a detour to Buck's! read more

C'mon Bucks, what in the hell happened to you?! Wow. I don't even know where to start. Perhaps, I'll go with the positive. The server we had was an exceptionally nice young lady; helpful, attentive and a joy. This is a nicely appointed resturaunt and its ambiance suggests you'd get an epic meal. Sadly the nice decor did not translate to a delightful meal. The menu, for what you get, is massively over priced. Ordered: Pear with Candied Nut Salad, Top Sirloin (medium rare) w/ garlic mashed and steamed vegetables sides. Received: pear with very a very strong vinaigrette topped with plain walnuts. With such a salad, you need the candied nuts to offset the acidic vinaigrette. Might I suggest bringing litmus strips if your sensitive to acids. For the main course, I was served a piece of meat that looked like a piece of shoe leather. Seriously, it looked like a steak you'd find in the back of your fridge that you forgot you had from last week's bbq. It was somewhat medium rare; 15 seconds more and it would have been well done. The garlic mash was good, albeit there was no garlic taste whatsoever. Now, you'd think steamed veggies would be simple. You'd think, but the 2nd bite in I realized, by the temp, they had not been nuked nearly long enough. Do you want to know how bad it can get...They even screwed up the ice-water! My 2nd glass was filled with lukewarm water. Seriously, how does that even happen?! My Dining Partner opted for the parmesan cod w/ rice and steamed veggies. We were perplexed as to how you could manage to get a dry cod that was in a parm sauce, but over-cooked and dry it was. The sauce was runny and the rice was on the colder side with crunchy bits. We have a new acronym for the cook (s) CDGAF = Chef Don't Give a F***. If I were the owner, I would do some serious soul searching along with a search for a new kitchen staff, because damn.I've had bad food before...but this was a premium priced food nightmare! read more

Went to Buck's for the first time last night. I'd been wanting to try it as they are on Ubereats and the Passport Card. We got seated upon walking in but then did not have someone come back for 5-10 minutes so that is the lack of star. Once the waitress came from was friendly and great the rest of our time. We had the burger, tenderloin skewers and Cobb salad pictured here. Everything was delish! They also serve bread with a special spread that we also enjoyed.
