This spot has been on my list to try for a while. We stopped in on a Thursday night before a Silvertips game. The poor server was solo and slammed, but she did get some help partway through. They've got a good selection of beer on tap, but I thought the cocktails were overpriced--nothing really stood out. I'd rather spend $16 on a craft cocktail at Colby Club. The food wasn't great. We got the calamari and it was bad--cold and honestly just bland. We also ordered the beer-battered halibut. It was okay, but a bit overcooked, and it came with fries... maybe 25 total for a 3-piece fish plate. Our bill was around $65 for two beers (with the $2 off Thursday special), the calamari, and the 3-piece halibut. Just overpriced for what it was. The place itself is cute, and they had acoustic music going, which was nice. The staff was friendly and really hustling with how busy it was. Overall, though, I didn't feel like it was worth it and probably wouldn't go back. I wish we could do .5 stars. I struggled between 2 & 3. I ended with 3 for the venue, live music (she was really good) and the awesome staff.

    Seafood Cioppino special.

I came here with my husband and two young kids this evening and we really enjoyed our meal! The waitstaff was incredibly friendly and helpful. My kids were stoked to get a whole box of crayons to color with rather than just the typical 4-pack. The food was GREAT! The kids meals were very generous portions, which I appreciated because my kids are big eaters. Hubby initially ordered the prime rib, rare. The waitress let him know that tonight the prime rib looked a little closer to medium so he changed his order to a Cobb salad with added flat iron steak. It came out beautiful (and rare) and he was very happy with it. He would not have been happy with medium prime rib, so we both appreciated the waitress' honesty. I ordered the seafood cioppino off of the daily special. I mostly enjoyed it. What was a little disappointing was that the menu said it had shrimp, mussels, clams, and scallops. However, I was a bit dismayed to dig in to my bowl to find that there were no clams and quite a lot of calamari which had not been listed as an ingredient. I don't eat calamari so I would have made a different choice (or asked for a substitution) had I known. The rest of the seafood was delicious and fresh, though. And the garlic bread was yummy. The only other feedback I'd give is to suggest a screen door if they are going to prop the front door open. There were quite a few flies buzzing around. We were swatting them away like we were at an outdoor barbecue--not what one hopes to see inside of a classy restaurant. Other than that, we really enjoyed our meal and will totally come back.

I won't be going back. I've been an on again off again customer for probably 10 years and numerous changes of ownership. Sometimes the food is great and sometimes it's not. I hadn't been to Bucks in over a year because of the prior not great experience. But last week friends/clients who used to live in Everett were in town and they wanted Bucks, so we had lunch there and it was good. Tonight I really wanted some kind of steak and Bucks came to mind. We ordered meatloaf, the chimichurri appetizer and a half Caesar salad. Oh, and the server asked if we'd like bread and butter and we said yes. The meatloaf was ok. The veggies that came with it (carrots and broccoli) were too al dente. The meatloaf wasn't dense enough it was almost like it had been heavily mixed with bread. The chimichurri wasn't great, the green sauce on top I had to scrape off because it tasted like old avocado. The Caesar salad was good. The bread (small sourdough round) was hard as F. Even with the steak knife we couldn't cut it! Idk what the deal was but it was very disappointing. It was pre sliced but even then we couldn't rip a piece off, my husband wrestled with it and we finally got a couple of slices loose and we tore the inside out of the crust. We left the other half of the mini round behind. The server asked if we wanted a box to take the remainder home and we said no. When we got the $75 bill I noticed a $5 charge for the bread and butter. I was surprised because it was offered as though it came free w the meal but apparently not. Anthony's offers complimentary bread and butter, many places do. I told the server that the bread was extremely hard, like we couldn't even cut it. I said I don't know if somebody microwaved this or what happened but the crust was so tough. We couldn't cut it with a steak knife and she said no they don't microwave but they do put it in the oven. I would have spoken up had I known I was paying five dollars for it, but I didn't speak up because I thought it just was complimentary with the meal. Anyway, after telling the server about how tough the bread was she said she'd take 10% off the cost of the bread. I was shocked at her response. She took the bill and returned with the new bill reflecting a discount of .50 (fifty cents) off the bill. She mentioned you did eat some of the bread so I gave you fifty cents off. My beef is that I wasn't told the bread and butter was an up sell at a cost of $5. And then the response of deducting $.50 from a $75 bill. I was really surprised at how it was handled but I am done. It's way too expensive to roll the dice everytime. I'm in an occupation where I take clients to lunch/dinner but I'm not spending another dime here.

The artichoke dip was nice and creamy but not heavy .

My first meal in Everett after I landed in Seattle. After read the review prior to the trip , I decided for a quick lunch . I was greeted by the server Amanda with a sweet welcome smile . We ordered a Cobb salad , artichoke dip and a grilled chicken sandwich. The Cobb salad was big and very standard , I liked the artichoke dip , it's creamy but not heavy. The grilled chicken sandwich was perfect , the chicken was nicely grilled but not dry , it's served with smoked bacon, avocado, lettuce tomato and onions . The aoli provides a nice mild spicy that's well balanced with the sandwich. I believed this is a well known local small restaurant in the old bank building built in the early 1920 . Amanda is a good server , she was the only server than does the meet & greet , serve and run the food , clean and set the tables ! She is the best !

Smoked halibut. Perfectly cooked fish and a decadent sauce

Don't judge a book by its cover really applies to Buck's. from the outside it is easy to miss and looks like a hole in the wall, but as soon we walked in we were greeted by the host and quickly seated at our table (we made a reservation ahead of time via the Yelp app). everyone was super friendly and we quickly settled into drinks and dinner. 1) Smoked halibut - this was so good. perfectly cooked fish over rice and vegies with a decadent sauce and comes out with the glass dome containing the smoke. dinner and a show and gave the fish a perfect amount of smoke. I would definitely order this again! 2) Crab stuffed salmon - this was also good. huge piece of salmon stuffed with a crab medley and fried to a perfect crispiness while maintaining its juiciness. 3) BBQ bison meatloaf. buffalo meatloaf wrapped in crispy bacon and topped with a fantastic bbq sauce. what more do you want?! the only thing I did not like is the mashed potatoes. it is more on the drier side than I prefer. 4) Chocolate peanut butter pie - talk about a huge slice of pie. loved the chunks of peanuts in it. good contrast between the cold pie, hot fudge, peanuts....mmmm. 5) Peach creme brulee - this was good. had a hint of peach, but otherwise your typical brulee. If they added a small pile of diced peaches on the side it could have really pushed this to being really good. Overall I would highly recommend this place and will be back for sure!

Was a walk-in, no reservation. Had the King Salmon special on the chalk board. Cooked to perfection! My wife taught me not to pick up the plate and lick it in public. All the portions were just right for me. Sat at the bar.

I came here on Sunday and they were serving brunch. I did not realize that though it was all good. I saw Reuben on the regular menu and wanted to have that here, but the brunch menu was equally interesting. I decided on the sasquatch sandwich which was quite a brilliant take on brunch food. It was basically chicken fried steak minus the gravy, fried egg, bacon and cheese on brioche bun. Instead of fries and salad as you would usually get for lunch or dinner, it was served with country potatoes and fruits. The food was delicious and the two slices of bacon which came with it were a generous size. No skinny bacon here. The place was pretty busy and they seemed understaffed. Just be patient and someone will come along shortly. If I am in Everett area again, I will try other food here. Free street parking in the area.

My parents and I came to Buck's American Cafe yesterday to visit some family in town from Idaho and Arizona/Oregon. Parking is provided adjacent to the side of the restaurant with the front entrance facing the main road. Arriving around 5:30 p.m., the place was already bustling with activity and was a bit noisy. It was difficult to hear my family members speaking off-and-on through dinner. The lighting was also a little on the dim side and the floor layout a bit tight, but not too bad. I ordered the Mel's Original Burger and a side salad with bleu cheese dressing in place of the fries/soup. The wait for the food to arrive once we placed our orders was about 40 minutes. The salad came coated in the dressing, as opposed to the dressing being on the side, and was applied in just the right amount. The burger's flavors were perfect, the meat was well cooked, and the cheeses on the burger (Havarti and bleu cheese) were in harmony without one overpowering the other. The only note I had was that the bun was a little on the thick side and the burger a little on the thin side. Not a flavor thing, so much as a relative ingredients portioning thing. Everyone in our group ate everything we ordered, tasty all round. The waitress was cheeky in a chipper way and not too intrusive into dinner table conversation. Payment was straightforward even with a split check.

I am traveling from SeaTac to Everett Naval Support Center and will stop by for a quick lunch . Is there any free parking for my rental car?

Yes, there's parking in front as well as on the side of the building and the back so you should be totally fine.

The lady who answered was so helpful explaining the food to me and answering any questions of mine. But the food.......HOLY SH*******T it's so damn good. I ordered a pizza (the spicy Hawaiian but exchange pepperoni for the Canadian bacon it's so worth it!) and I ordered a house salad with ranch. The pizza was a 12 in medium with so many toppings it had to be 2lbs on its own! The salad was perfect, nice cool and crisp. The ranch dressing however is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT it's house made not store bought and it's seriously so freaking good. If come back here just for the salad with ranch even if everything else was crap. When I called to order they said should be ready in 20-25 minutes. I showed up 15 minutes after my call and it was ready and waiting. So not only was the food absolutely delicious and the bartender (the one who took my order) was so incredibly sweet and kind, but they were so fast! The speed also didn't affect the quality of the food either, you expect a pizza done that fast might be undercooked, but it's perfect. Nice crispy bottom still soft on top cheese fully melted. I'm completely hooked on this place now and will be going back often. I'm also excited to go back and have a drink there some weekend night and see how the bar seeing itself is. It looked great honestly, like the perfect dive bar except a lot more on the clean side for a dive. It has a very home town feel rather than a club vibe, and it's far bigger than it looks from outside as it takes over 2 of the buildings there and also has a back door to an outside seating and patio area. Great place overall.

In short They nail the prohibition-era speakeasy vibe really…read morewell, and the cocktails are pretty great. Service is just unbelievably sweet and friendly and they clearly know their way around a drink menu. In long Not what you'd expect in Snohomish, and that's very much to its credit. It's a nondescript little building with no signage at all. You can probably roll a wheelchair in over the transom, though the sidewalk is a little slopy here. You open the door, push aside the curtain, and wait for your eyes to adjust. Super dim inside. The bar is right across from the door, flanked by 2 seating areas. Antique furniture and wall art, going for that 1920s look and doing it very well--while also keeping it comfortable for long sits. The crowd isn't trying to match the period clothing or anything, it's just a bunch of fun younger Snohomies hanging out and drinking cocktails. The bartender hands you a menu of a dozen and a half cocktails, mostly vintage, vintage-sounding, or using vintage ingredients or techniques (e.g., 3 different offerings with egg whites). Prices are fair enough, and they bring out your drink when it's ready. Vintage-looking glassware--cool! There's another big room past the bar, lots of Edison bulbs here and there, but not so many as to create even a hint of glare anywhere. There's a washroom in the far corner, definitely big enough to be accessible. Now I can't remember whether there were grab bars. The ceilings in here are all different heights, most covered with pressed tin. Nice effect. There's one window that hasn't been covered, so a little natural light gets in. It was kind of fun trying to imagine what kinds of businesses might have been in here before it became a speakeasy. There's a staircase to a small loft office space. Overall, if you're antique shopping or just out and about in Snoho, this is a good stop and you should check it out at least once. Really nice vibe.
