I can't bring myself to give a 5 star rating for Buckeye's overall service due to the high cost for cable, internet, and my mom's landline phone. However, I would like to recognize the Technical Support Team, as they patiently assist whenever I call. In particular, I'd like to recognize Al in Technical Support for his 5-star efforts to assist me with a telephone issue last night. For some reason, every time I called my mom's Buckeye landline from my cell phone yesterday, I would get horrible static. Al took the time to check my mom's line by calling her several times, including calling her from an AT&T line (my cell phone provider). He suggested that the problem could be due to something on AT&T's end. We agreed to end our call so I could attempt to resolve the issue with AT&T and that he would call me back approximately 45 minutes later. Al kept his word and followed up with me as promised. While we were unable to resolve the problem last night, he offered to have a tech go to my mom's home to troubleshoot further. By this morning, my problem was somehow resolved and my mom reported that she was having better sound clarity than ever on her phone. We were both impressed with Al's diligence and dedication. While Buckeye receives many negative comments about its high cost, (and rightly so), I do want to give a shout-out to Al in Technical Support for going above and beyond. Thanks so much Al! A big thank you to TJ a Buckeye service tech who came to our house and got our tv up and running. He gets 5 stars, Buckeye broadband gets one star. Buckeye was a great service, but now they outsource their customer service on the phone to people that have no idea what they are doing. I needed help with words didn't go with their mouth. I called and spent 45 mins on the phone with someone I could barely understand . She was unable to help and hung up on me. I was transferred back to someone else who steered me wrong and couldn't get the tv up and told me it was my remote and I had to take it to the office. That wasn't the problem, it was the black box the office said. The phone techs had completely knocked me out of everything. But I can't thank all the repair guys enough. I have even had problems with their billing, again outsourced to whomever. read more

Horrible customer service from an Indian call center. they say my wires are buried (they are NOT), do not know what a squirrel is and want to fight with me about sending out a technician for a junction box that is partially open and letting rain in. I cannot express strongly enough the decline in all the service areas through Buckeye Broadband over the years. They've been my provider for well over 25 years. As soon as I find another provider, I will cut ties. Losing Channel 24 and numerous sports channels was a big blow. Their customer service being outsourced is an additional problem. The language barrier, the lack of knowledge of the representatives are two big drawbacks. I have yet to speak to ANYONE who embraces their services. I have had repeated problems and have had to work through issues at the Brainiacs locations more times than I'd like to count. Would absolutely NOT recommend them. read more

Buckeye does not even deserve 1 star. We only have internet and it is horrible. The prices are going up but the service gets worse. They need to drop the prices for the terrible service they provide. We've had 2 technicians come out within a month and found nothing wrong on our end. We had the modem switched out and that hasn't done anything. I continue to have issues with my internet. Buffering and freezing and still no resolution. Techs have come out before to change the lines outside and it worked for a couple of weeks but now I am experiencing the same issues. I have been a long time customer and I pay too much for low budget service. Every time I call customer service, they reset the modem, unplug & plug the modem and troubleshoot, etc, etc. Still nothing! I am very dissatisfied and time to find another provider! read more

Absolutely pathetic service If I could give 0 stars I would My business paid Buckeye Broadband for services for almost 9 years. Unfortunately I had to close 1 business and my second business is 2 hours from the closed business. I cancelled with Buckeye Broadband and was told I wouldn't be charged again and last night I was charged again. Customer service is 0 help. When asking to speak with a supervisor all they say is "someone will call you back within 24 hours." Zero respect shown for a business who was loyal to your business for almost 9 years. I call buckeye to report that the apo took out 2 payments. I asked for a refund and it's been over 10 days and still no money. Called back and now they say 15 days. Update April 6, 2025: was set up with Autopay on a card. Bad internet payment on a NEW card went thru and the OLD CARD was changed. A $14 and change payment was made on 4/02/25 with Angie. Now the OLD CARD was billed for $106.76. That card was to be deleted. Also, the $14 payment brought my balance to ZERO, per the MyBuckeye app and confirmation email with confirmation number. They stole $106.76 from me on a card they had no business keeping in their system, then lied about that card being gone. This will be discussed federally too. Wrong person to play games with. I will make this company THE EXAMPLE of what not to do. Also at 23:21 (11:21 pm), not 1 single supervisor called me back, as requested by me to "Chrystal" overseas. Misty confirmed a "request for a supervisor" was put in early in the AM hours. Looks like FCC or FTC and Ohio Atty General need to hear this info. Also, internet seems fixed after an FCC cable complaint was filed on 3/31/25. See below. -------------- I have made many many many calls in the 15 days I have had their 1Gig coax internet (since the Old West End has no fiber or competitors). Buckeye's Eero app says I get 982 Mbps down and 11 Mbps up. Turns out that I am ACTUALLY getting 18 Mbps down, 2 Mbps down, 17, Mbps, 43 Mbps, not the 982 Mbps. Totally unstable connection 300 ft from the hub. They placed a MoCa filter on the coax, replaced the modem and turned off modem WiFi. I called tech support (option 3) and was scheduled on a day I cannot be home, when I told the guy I cannot be home. But then again, Sunday is Bengladesh's Saturday. No phone jobs are local as of Tuesday.... So most phone reps are foreign. I only want 1 Gig WORKING and STABLE service. 2 coworkers also have issues in different parts of town. They are also on the 1 Gig plan without fiber. Latest thing ... An email was supposedly sent asking for an earlier appointment date. If I do not get service by 2pm Saturday, I will take TARTA and return the equipment after 2pm, while catching the last bus back home. The Block Family is a joke!!!! Terrible services for a high price. I DON'T RECCOMEND this company, as they have not changed since my problems getting things fixed in 2000. Yasmine works at Maxx South, another Buckeye company. This did not happen. FCC complaint lodged on March 31, 2025. How does this company remotely have an A+ rating with the BBB???? Someone is paying off someone or the BBB rating system is corrupt, as Buckeye is accredited!! Now I must take the worst bussing system in America (TARTA) and return the equipment. I also found Maintenance Orders were not being filed AND scheduled (ie., blue sheets). I wanted a call from a supervisor for 2 reasons: First, I was being told I was responsible for ingress, which the test said I was not! Typical Buckeye play since 1999. They keep using the classics! Secondly, I need a written plan on how this was to be fixed. That call back was because only 1 supervisor "showed up" for work. Two companies and only 1 supervisor???? Makes -355% sense. Yes, minus. The Tech hubs (Brianiacs) is only open 10am to 6pm. Not customer friendly, like the service support and maintenance. Also notice they are not close to the center of Toledo, like Southwyck Blvd was???? The support team is no longer local, so things will go south quickly. I have found "off shore" reps do not understand English or "Urban English" phrases. Accents are thick. Spoke to such people as Jackie, Chip, Angie, Carl, Keith, CeCe, Yasmine, Chris (Trans female) Chris overseas, Trey, Robert, and an unidentified white male tech on Saturday March 29, 2025. I have refused $20 credits because I just wanted the service corrected. Too late for that now. No resolution is possible, not on my end. Had to disconnect the equipment. Yes I was frustrated on a daily basis. Internet should not go out at night and mainly stay out weekend nights. Then blame the customer. Inexcusable. They also are not leasing their lines or leasing lines at a good rate to other internet providers. Another internet provider mentioned this. This keeps out competition. Ohio is to be deregulated. Buckeye disagrees to this law, by actions. This company had been known for decades to minimize competition or eliminate them. Any other newspapers are a prime example. Only 1 was not burnt down. That last one just folded. This company, Toledo Blade, Hometown Stations, etc. is a mess. I cannot even remotely recommend them. T-Mobile is calling. read more

The friendly and helpful local service agents have been replaced by an overseas call center with no ability to help and very little knowledge of how the system is set up. Last night our service kept dropping and the agent told me she would check my cable box, which none of us have anymore and that she recommended I unscrew the cable from the back of my modem, which is impossible because I have a fiber optic connection. They really have gone downhill in the last few years. If they ever drop the Windsor station my husband loves, I will get Verizon that same day. read more

Buckeye boasts "local", and they used to be. I had used them for years and every time I called I spoke with local service reps. At some point they have outsourced their service calls to somewhere outside of the U.S. (dedinitely NOT local, not even US based). Since English is not these new reps first language, communication can get tricky and they repeat themselves over and over and it takes a long time for them to resolve nothing. When I asked for a US-based call center telephone number or to be transferred to one, they told me that was not possible . I literally chose Buckeye over AT&T years ago because they were local, and so now I am disappointed that their website says local and they're really not, at least not for customer service calls. read more

Edison was working on the transformer next store and after the internet disconnected for ever and when I mentioned this I swear the assistant told me to call Edison, but I am not sure because of the language barrier. Also I think he thought Edison was another internet company because he told me they (Edison) need to maintain their own lines??? Maybe the electric company in India also does internet maybe India's internet and electric are owned by the Block brothers, hey at this point I am open to theories. I had Buckeye for 20 months. I signed up for a 24 month contract so the price was guaranteed. The service was good when it worked. After being without service for a full week I decided to cancel. Support could not give me an estimate of when I would hear from a technician, let alone when my Internet would be working again. All they could tell was to be patient. Because I canceled before my contract was up, I received an "early termination fee" of $175. It sounds like Buckeye has outsourced their support and things aren't going well. If you are switching to save money, don't do it. Call the retention department at your current provider and ask for a better price. read more

Contacted Buckeye about why we lost 8 channels in the last several months and the price of the service has not dropped one penny. I think when you lose a national channel like NBC your cost should be less. At late night and on Weekends they have so many paid programs that they should pay us to use Buckeye. This is by far the absolute worst internet service I have ever experienced. Unfortunately, they are the only provider in the area. I don't understand how they can have a stranglehold on certain neighborhoods and in some cases, sides of the street. These monopolies are the only reason this abomination of a company is in existence. I only have Internet. Every day or 2, I completely lose service. Sometimes for hours, or my personal favorite; every few minutes. I have bought 4 modems in 6 years. Did some research, tested, and found it was actually Buckeye's issue. DO NOT BOTHER CALLING THEM. All this and the price steadily rises. I check every month or two, to see if I can get another ISP. As soon as I can , GOODBYE SUCKEYE!!! They tout themselves on the "Support Local" sentiment. I have been a Buckeye customer for a long time now. The last couple years I've noticed a trend where I get signed up for a decently priced wifi package just for it to constantly have issues and the only way I can fix that is by upgrading to a more expensive plan. In the last few years I've had issues with paying my bill who isn't struggling rn? But anywa Buckeye offers "freenet" which you are supposed to be able to use if lord forbid your service gets cut off. Freenet used to be great now it's a scam Buckeye runs to get more money from the government. You're supposed to be able to watch a video and get 30 mins of free internet. Every time a customer clicks the video and tries to play it Buckeye gets paid. Round and round it goes. You can sit for hours clicking and trying to get the video to fully play until the end but it hardly does. So you barely get any freenet and all those times you cliked that video which will be hundreds of times Buckeye gets paid and paid. They need to stop scamming their customers and defrauding the government while they do it. Shame on them. read more

We have had Buckeye cable for over 20 years and in the last 5 their customer service has continued to decline. We have had a lot of buffering lately so we called for a service technician. The only time available was Sunday Mother's Day between 12-2p. The technician shows up, does anyone couple of things bit still have buffering. He then tells us it might be our Eros box but that they don't exchange them and we would need to take it in. On Monday we take it to the office where she tells us, uh no we don't don't exchange those the technician has to come out and do it. The next available time is Thursday 4-6. It's is currently Thursday at 620 and no Buckeye. Sad to say we will be looking for a different provider. read more

Called Buckeye Broadband's now worthless Tech Support on Thursday, July 16th when my Buckeye supplied modem started to fail, was told to wait 24 hours after unplugging and plugging back in. Waited and the modem (WIFI) continued to sporadically fail over the weekend and Monday. Today, Tuesday, July 22, I physically returned my defective modem to the Buckeye Tech Hub store, was given a new modem and told to connect / plug in new modem and wait 20 -30 minutes then call Tech Support to initialize new modem. Again, similar to my July 16th call to Tech Support it was worthless. Both times you could not understand the female reps (VERY POOR broken English) as they did not clearly understand the simple task of initializing a new modem. I have had a prior modem initialized in less than 5 minutes prior to the Tech Support being FARMED OUT to a THIRD PARTY / COUNTRY which took 30 plus minutes and did not care, they were supposed to call me back but never did. This is the most disgusting customer support I have received after being a Buckeye customer for 25 years! I cannot wait until Frontier Fiber completes their install in my area so I can switch providers! BUCKEY BROADBAND is NO LONGER LOCAL for CUSTOMER SUPPORT! read more

My mother has buckeye cable and its been a total cluster. I would like to state that she lives in north toledo and she had no internet for more then three days. This was a horrible time for her as she is elderly and not only would this cause anxiety. I have heard recently that more then a hundred employees will be laid off at the end of March 2025. Buckeye is going to try to add mobile phone plans at the costs of these one hundred employees. Also according to the news they are going to outsource alot of the call center employees to people that will work pennies on the dollar. I am thinking not only is it hard now to navigate the customer service aspect of this company, now you won't be able to understand any of these people that are screwing you around with all of the proration crap they throw at you. I am wondering will you even be able to understand any of these new people that are from foreign countries? Alot of the cusotmer base are elderly and not only dod you not get a discount your depending on elderly people like my seventy six year old mother to navigate this process. My landline isn't working. I've been without service for 10 days. Nine days ago, I called their tech support. After an hour and a half of remote troubleshooting involving giving them the same info a dozen times, multiple 5-10 min. power cycles and multiple disconnects and requests for information, the support person (with an Indian accent and a western name), said he was requesting a technician and I was to expect a call in 24-48 hours. I waited nine days (I don't use my landline very often, but it serves a couple of important functions for my household), then called again and went through the exact same rigamarole with another support call (again, with a support worker with a foreign accent and a western name), after another hour of all the same checks, I suggested that this time the call needed to end with a home appointment for a technician, he said he would do so, but he wanted to check with the prior support guy from nine days earlier to see if there had been any updates, he claimed he would call me back. I suggested I should not have to pay for the previous nine days since I had no service, and he said he was documenting everything so that wouldn't happen. Several hours later he had not call me back as promised and I began the process for the third time. I was now blunt and curt, but not rude to yet another support worker with an Indian accent. I explained I did not want any attempts at remote support and just wanted to schedule a technician, I was asked to wait a moment, I was disconnected simultaneously to my router being reset (I was on my cell phone, not using VOIP). I called a 4th support technician, I was exasperated, but the Indian woman (who did not give me a name, which is preferable to a lie) on the other end was sympathetic, said that the reason I had never received a call from the in-home technicians after the first call was because it was never scheduled, contrary to what I had been told by support #1. She also said the only notes on my case were from 9 days prior, meaning tech support #2 (Lance), and #3 had lied about documenting the case. After checking on the status of my line, much to my frustration, she said she sent an invoice for a technician to her supervisors via e-mail, though I protested at once again not receiving an appointment. She assured me she would call me back when she had permission to schedule an appointment. Lots of "don't worry" and "I'll make sure" in a reassuring tone this time. I hesitantly asked for a likely timeframe (because I don't love being lied to), she hesitantly volunteered a half an hour to an hour. I'm writing this two hours later, having made 11 calls with 4 support technicians. I still have no landline and no appointment to check my equipment and line. Buckeye has become Kafka-esque. read more

I've had buckeye for going on two and a half years. it's one of two providers available to me. I'm constantly having the Internet go out for hours on end. I finally got a technician out on Wednesday who located the problem (it was on Buckeyes end) and said it would be fixed in three business days. Saturday comes and I still have no Internet. I call and canceled my plan with them that day and had little issues with that process. until Monday when I find my bill is 165% of what a normal monthly bill costs With no explanation. I'm currently on hold waiting for a customer service person I don't think exists. its low quality, expensive, and they either don't staff enough support to take care of problems or don't care to fix them. Ive been with Buckeye for a year. Their service has never been great. Cable channels often freeze and service interruptions happen at least twice a week. This week I got a notice for next months bill. It went up 35% ! I have only basic cable and internet. The bill went from $217 to $294. I called customer service and the rep (who is clearly bored with all of this.) told me, well your "special" when you signed is over. So...no written notice which I brought up to her And basically, we dont care take it or leave. There are no other companies in my area. So, Im cancelling cable and going to streaming. I don't know why on March 27. You had to go to the extremes of hiring people outside of this country to help with your service. But you made a big mistake. Number one you cannot understand them number two they do not know anything about your Buckeye Cable Number three wait times are now up to an hour or more and that has never happened. They are constantly putting you on hold to go look something up because they don't know.We have always been Buckeye Cable users and you have done a good job over the years. However, this is terrible right now even your own employees don't like it and agree that you have created problems. I suggest you go back to using American workers here in the United States that know what's going on and can help the customers or you're going to lose a lot of customers. read more
