First of all, I worked for Buckeye and saw how they faced challenges. One of the most divisive was…read morethe loss of channel 11 for a period of time. People were angry and wouldn't listen to the reason it was done. It turns out, a company was buying up local stations so they would have more bargaining power to drive up the cost of their feeds. This might seem like a small thing but what you don't know is it would have automatically pushed up the rates of every other provider of media (espn, abc, etc).* The company bit the bullet and told the consolidator to fly a kite. No one appreciated the companies loyalty to their customers. Buckeye's prices were high, just like all cable providers. The business is a lot like gas stations during the 70s. The gas providers set the price but the gas station took the brunt of the ill will. Buckeye was able to lower their price by dropping the set top box. TV is not the same but they had to do something. Same goes with outsourcing support to the Philippines. Costs had to be cut. Buckeye's big differentiator is service. They are able to repond quickly because they are local. Buckeye was a good place to work. They treated their employees with respect and they paid a competitive wage. I made lots of friends while working there.

The people answering the calls now do not understand what you are asking or don't want to. I worked at Buckeye for 20 years and we knew our products, how to answer questions, how to resolve issues and the customer did not have to repeat the problem 4 times and still not have a resolution. I just don't understand how things have come to this. There are a lot of people in Toledo that need jobs but Buckeye is giving them away.

I came in because I placed an order for a phone online but my bill from my previous provider wouldn't upload. And the store entered my address wrong without clarifying with me first so it flagged my account for fraud. It took some time to get things squared away with another rep on the phone in addition to Trey. The store I visited also had no knowledge of Verizon Fios & incorrectly told me I couldn't bundle a new phone plan with my existing WiFi with Verizon Fios until I directed them to google the plan Verizon shows online. Trey was great. He figured out my phone issue with patience, a friendly demeanor & resilience . However I had the complete opposite experience with the manager at the store. He was awful, lazy, rude, aggressive, and no help at all. I hope he's replaced with someone more capable of holding that title. He stood around the store doing nothing as the store was swamped. And as Trey was trying to work on my issue he escalated tensions while we were already on the phone with another representative overwhelming me to talk to 3 people at a time. I almost cancelled all my services that day due to his demeanor. It shouldn't be just the employees under the manager who have good service. I had a brief encounter with Tanya while I waited 45 min to even get assigned a rep. and she was pleasant to work with as well. The main store manager I had an awful experience on me for pointing at the incorrect information on the tablet and made visable scene in front of the whole store about me pointing to Treys tablet. I hope that manager is replaced with someone who conducts themselves as a manager, and presents their uniform in a clean non-disheveled manner, and keeps his hair cut.

I didn't want to use Xfinity or AT&T (although Provide.net uses AT&T to provide their service) because I didn't want to be locked in a contract. I am month-to-month. At the beginning of my service, I bought a modem/router for $100 straight from Provide.net. This is great bc I do not pay a rental fee for the modem. I own it and it hasn't outdated in 3 years and I am sure I will get many more years out of it. My service costs me $40 a month. I pay every 3 months at once (this is how they do their billing) but that is fine for me. The service is DSL, but I see no difference between that and fiber/cable, which I have used in the past. Zero difference! So why pay more? I am streaming Netflix on one or two devices at the same time and someone else is probably using the Internet in the house too. The speed is fast. Everyone can do what they need to do. Also, in 3 years, I haven't had bouts of lost connection. The Internet is always working fine. It is 100% reliable. I am thankful for Provide.net because I can walk right into their storefront on Hewitt 10 minutes from my house and talk to a real human if I ever needed, which I don't, but I could. They are also not like corporate Xfinity puppet people, who totally suck! They are real guys who are totally upfront and casual to talk with. I'm never leaving Provide.net and highly recommend it to home Internet users.

You first have to go through a computer AI support (terrible) before you can get to a human, which is based overseas. They struggled to understand me making me repeat myself multiple times. There response time and handling of service requests is also terrible. I was recently having work done on the outside of my house and the wire was accidentally cut. I had to wait 6 days to get someone out to repair it. I wasn't happy but it was my fault but luckily the contractor was able to splice it so I still had Internet. They came out, "fixed" it and left. An hour later, the internet still had not come back up so I called. I was told I'd have to wait another 6 days before they could come back out and try again. IMO the service tech should not have left until confirming it was working that failing they should have made me a priority since it was their failure. I understand employee shortages but their are methods of putting schedules together to bake in time for high priority calls. Needless to say I found another provider that was able to squeeze me in 2 days later.

Well one put me on hold for 45 mins. The other she did know 89% of what she was talking about but after we parted ways it all went South. Nothing she told me to do was on my tv. No channel 9900, also the new updated direct equipment doesn't have the caller I.D app Honestly these are overseas call centers or they are here on a visa Work program. What's not acceptable is they get paid for not being trained and putting us on hold until we hang up. They know wtf they are doing. Does the company?
