This clinic is connected to Costco and well that means it is going to be busy. This is also a super tiny clinic. The lobby and all the eye exam equipment are in the same room. No privacy when they are checking your eyes, doing the air puff, and all the next patients are staring at you. The lobby is literally 3 chairs in the entry with no room to move if someone opens the door. There are two doors that lead into tiny office where you can get a bit of privacy with the doctor. It is almost like Costco gave them a storage closet to use. Initial appointment: I think everyone was tired and in a bad mood because everyone was grumpy on my initial appointment. I was given some contacts to try and I asked for a specific brand. They said they would look at getting me some trial contacts to test with the brand they recommended. I would get a call in 1 week. At 1 week I got a call that the brand of contact I wanted was discontinued. I was in shock because Costco.com sold the contact I wanted so I called the company and they clarified. The contact I wanted was not available in trial but rather purchase only. I had a few of my old ones left and started to wear them. I prefer these over the brand doctor recommended. Then I go to pay and the price I was asked to pay was higher than the quote range I was given. I asked about that and the girl just stared at me. After initial visit, I would not recommend this clinic. 2nd appointment: everyone was in a good mood and fun spirited and great sense of humor. I explained to the doctor what the company said about the contact I wanted, I was wearing an old pair. The doctor said the front staff informed me incorrectly and that I could get prescription for the contacts I wanted. She examined the contacts in my eyes and all good. She wrote the prescription. I took the prescription and went to Costco counter to order my contacts. I would recommend this clinic, but just know that if you have a bad experience, the staff is having a bad day. I experienced it myself. If you don't like to be stared at by strangers while the staff is doing initial eval, this might not be the clinic for you. If you are claustrophobic, this might not be the place for you on a busy day the entry can be very tight. read more

Its between a 3.5 and 4 star for me... Making the appointment was probably the hardest. On their website, it has you fill out an appointment request form, well, they absolutely never got back to me this way. So I started to call... and it took my a few tries over a couple of days to finally get someone to answer. And I get it, we are in the time of a pandemic.. maybe they have different hours, but this was not stated on their voicemail, nor on the door to the office. My appointment went great. They call you in when it is your turn, so you are the only one in the office, at least for me, my appt was the first appt of the day, but they did have a chair waiting right outside the office for the next appt. You call when you arrive, they will open the door when ready. Everything is sanitized. I felt safe with their COVID precautions. I was in and out in under 30 minutes for a glasses and contact exam. Dr. Buck was friendly and thorough. Will go back next year for my next annual contact exam. read more

I am so happy with my recent exam and contact lens fitting. I had just about given up on finding any comfortable progressive contacts that I could see out of and Dr. Buck did it! I felt very safe and secure with the Covid precautions being taken in their office. And, their location is conveniently located just to the right of Costco's front door. Had to get an eye exam done for my son and looked around a little bit for an optometrist in my local area. Ended up finding Dr. Buck through my insurance. Had a vey good visit and was in and out quickly. The office itself is small however the check in process and exam was run very efficiently. I first called to schedule an appointment on a Monday afternoon and was able to get in on Wednesday morning. Dr. Buck was extremely professional and explained everything to us so we had all the information we needed to make an informed decision on future eye health. I've had so many eye dr's since childhood and many of them are not very good. Therefore it matters a great deal to me to ensure my eye dr is competent and knowledge-based as well as caring and attentive. I have a severe astigmatism that many eye dr's couldn't seem to get the prescription right for, and I also have some premature macular degeneration. After seeing Dr. Buck I felt really happy because I'd been really worried and had a ton of questions. He answered so many of them and did not make me feel dumb for asking them. He listened to everything I said and my concerns and gave me a great prescription on top of his time and knowledge. The glasses I got with his prescription were perfect and mostly I appreciated his information on my eye issues and what he said helped me feel less anxious and more informed. Overall I was so glad I chose this eye Dr because I'd had some that didn't seem interested or gave me the wrong prescription. I would highly recommend him because I've seen about 15 eye dr's over the years in SA and found few were able to correct my astigmatism or get the script right or give me any meaningful information and Dr. Buck did all those things for a really reasonable price and I got to see him quickly. I tried to make an appointment to return. I was having some blurry vision. On the phone, the receptionist decided that I had cataracts and needed to see an ophthalmologist. I tried to get around her resistance but failed. I went to the ophthalmologist. They said that I didn't need cataract surgery. Maybe someday but not know. But, they said I needed a new prescription. I asked them for a recommendation for a different optometrist. She was much more thorough than Dr Buck. I have a new pair of glasses and my vision is improved. read more

Dr. Buck and his staff are great. My phone call was answered immediately and scheduled as close to my time & date preference as possible. When I arrived, there was already one patient in front of me but I was immediately greeted, checked in, and given the forms I needed to fill out. As soon as the pictures of my eyes were taken, Dr. Buck took me to the back and did the rest. Due to a recurring medical issue, he went as far as to explain what he was looking for in my eyes, what they looked like, and why they occur. It's crazy because NO eye specialist I've gone to before had ever been as thorough as he was. He was patient and encouraging and I was grateful that it turned out to be such a positive experience. When we were finished, Dr. Buck requested I return in about 3 months for a follow-up check and that it would be at no additional cost. I was scheduled right before I left. I got to my appointment at 925 am and my appt was at 930. The doors were locked. I waited and even called the office. No answer. Finally someone showed up. I went in and waited until they got the office ready and "open" even though my appointment was at 930. I wasn't seen until almost 10. Hmmmm. Something about that just doesn't seem like good service. Be there before your patients get there to open up so you can start seeing patients in time. read more
