They said my vision got slightly worse and recommended I get the higher prescription - to which I refused. They sent me home with a trial pair of contacts in my original prescription and I ordered my glasses. Came in to pickup my glasses and started to wear them and had the worst headache and eye pain for a week. I took them to another eye clinic to get them tested, and sure enough, they made my glasses a much stronger prescription. This seemed really shady to me. I will not be returning nor recommending this place.

The doctors assistant was very rude and basically told me to live with it. The past year I have struggled to see but thought with my vision being so bad I would just have to live with it as the assistant told me. Fast forward to now. I decided to see another doctor and I am glad I did. See my other review to see who I went to. The doctor told me he could get my prescription right without reading glasses and if not he would fit me for multifocal contacts. He nailed my prescription and the doctor before was WAY off I mean like over -150. I see my computer screen perfectly no reading glasses needed, I can even read the fine print of my books that I read at night with no reading glasses. Don't put up for "good enough" when there is a possibilist of WAY better.

The staff appreciates your time by keeping to appointment times as much as feasibly possible. I have been pleased with the lenses I have ordered thru this TSO office. Even when I ordered progressive lenses, the staff helped me learn what to expect as I became accustomed to these new lenses. I've been "seeing" Dr. Dunlap for over six years, and I appreciate her knowledge and accuracy in diagnosis and prescriptions. I would give 5 stars, except there seems to be a revolving door of the doctor assistants. While I understand and appreciate the need for staff development, there are innate skills required for a medical staff assistant to possess, such as interpersonal skills, a gentle and confident touch, and knowledge and accuracy on the reason for visits. If the job candidate does not have the innate skills, then find someone else. I get nervous enough going to any doctor. Starting my visit with a nervous, unqualified doctor's assistant is not the way to a good overall experience at the eye doctor.

No privacy when they are checking your eyes, doing the air puff, and all the next patients are staring at you. The lobby is literally 3 chairs in the entry with no room to move if someone opens the door. There are two doors that lead into tiny office where you can get a bit of privacy with the doctor. It is almost like Costco gave them a storage closet to use. Initial appointment: I think everyone was tired and in a bad mood because everyone was grumpy on my initial appointment. I was given some contacts to try and I asked for a specific brand. They said they would look at getting me some trial contacts to test with the brand they recommended. I would get a call in 1 week. At 1 week I got a call that the brand of contact I wanted was discontinued. I was in shock because Costco.com sold the contact I wanted so I called the company and they clarified. The contact I wanted was not available in trial but rather purchase only. I had a few of my old ones left and started to wear them. I prefer these over the brand doctor recommended. Then I go to pay and the price I was asked to pay was higher than the quote range I was given. I asked about that and the girl just stared at me. After initial visit, I would not recommend this clinic. 2nd appointment: everyone was in a good mood and fun spirited and great sense of humor. I explained to the doctor what the company said about the contact I wanted, I was wearing an old pair. The doctor said the front staff informed me incorrectly and that I could get prescription for the contacts I wanted. She examined the contacts in my eyes and all good. She wrote the prescription. I took the prescription and went to Costco counter to order my contacts. I would recommend this clinic, but just know that if you have a bad experience, the staff is having a bad day. I experienced it myself. If you don't like to be stared at by strangers while the staff is doing initial eval, this might not be the clinic for you. If you are claustrophobic, this might not be the place for you on a busy day the entry can be very tight.

Doctor Deviney & crew are awesome!…read more I first came here about ten years ago. My review back then was 5 Stars. A decade later, it remains the same. Out of curiosity, I read the negative reviews here for them and was, frankly, shocked. It seems that the few negative reviews are in regards to the office employees, even being careful to indicate that the doctor was fine. I fully support the rave reviews for Doctor Deviney. I do confess I am not the easiest patient, as I frequently have many questions and an interest in finding out what all my options are before I make a decision. Nevertheless, he is always very patient, open, and willing to engage in conversation and offer me his expertise. He is clearly a popular guy, which makes sense, but it does not prevent him from always seeing me promptly. I only remember once in the last decade when I wondered what was taking so long, but even that is negligible because it was not anything unreasonable, maybe twenty minutes. Maybe it is because he has spoiled me by always being ready to see me- once the preliminary tests are done by other members on the team- within ten minutes. Over the years there has only been one short period where there was another doctor sharing the office with him (Doctor Manasia), but she has since moved back to Houston. I did see her that one year, and she was nice enough, but I do remember being a little sad that I missed my annual or semi annual visit with Deviney. Other than the one time, it has always been him flying solo as the only optometrist running this location. Maybe a demanding task for anyone else, but Doctor Deviney has had no problems, as far as I can tell. Getting back to the other members on the team, Ariel, the office manager, is highly recommended with any inquiries or even issues you might have. Always friendly, understanding, welcoming, and even seems to remember a little about me, even though I am sure he has so many patients coming in and out that I can be but a tiny dot on his radar! Other reviewers have mentioned the ladies (Cecilia & Leticia, by my memory) not being nice to them or "curt". Anyone who reads my reviews on Google & here on Yelp knows I try to be honest- sometimes maybe brutally so. I will say that, maybe compared to Ariel, they are less outwardly initiating with their friendliness; more reserved and maybe quiet personalities. Sometimes they have also been short with me, but I am sure that is due to them being more business like rather than with any negative emotion. This should not be construed as faults. They have always been courteous when I have initiated conversation or questions. As for other complaints regarding pricing and such, this is a business; we are in a capitalist society. Only saying. I can personally vouch for them trying to give me better deals on things they can do that for, like frames, but I doubt they have much power over how much someone's insurance covers or how much to charge for standard procedures. Again, things that do have some leeway with to name things easier for the patients, such as payment plans, for example, they are also willing to offer. Anyone who reads my reviews likewise recognizes that I am relatively stingy with my stars, so it is rare that anyone receive five stars from me. As a last note, readers should acknowledge that pretty much every great business has a few negative reviews. It would actually be a little more suspicious if it were perfect. This is simple statistics. So if you have any doubts, I would recommend you read the details in the reviews for the reasons why. It is no shock to me that Doctor Deviney has taken the effort and the time to address the negative reviews, at least on Google. You can read his responses and draw your own conclusions.
