Woah; do yourself a favor and give this place a try! We came here on a Friday night and had no trouble getting a reservation. We were immediately greeted by a hostess who quickly sat us at our table. She was kind, professional, and personable. She opened our wine (BYOB) and our server came over soon thereafter. As a self described "new and innovative Italian American Kitchen," their menu reflected this designation. The menu offered a delicious variety of appetizers, salads, pastas and entrees. Our table ordered calamari, pecan crusted chicken, and shrimp scampi. The calamari was light, crispy and fresh. The chicken and shrimp scampi entrees were also incredible. They were both so flavorful, the portion sizes were generous, and everyone cleaned their plate! The chef even came around TWICE to make sure everyone was doing okay. This is a great spot to stop in after work: the train station is RIGHT there. If you want to drive, there is ample parking on the street or in the garage ($2.00 for a few hours). My favorite restaurant! The food is amazing. The staff is attentive and friendly. I love the decor and the vibe just makes me want to go back. My favorites so far are the Bucco salad. And the shrimp and crab riviera. Truly the best risotto I ever had! The homemade tiramisu and creme brûlée are just delicious. I am working my way through the menu. Went opening week with large group. Very comfortable dining room great for large groups and kids. BYOB is a plus along with plenty of parking. Knowledgeable and very friendly staff. Large menu offers everything from pasta to steaks and chops to seafood. Must start your dinner with one of the many delicious appetizer choices. Went there for my birthday. Had dinner outside. The Appetizer was tasty, fresh figs stuffed with gorgonzola cream and a slice of prosciutto on the side. My friend had the cod oreganata, which she said was delicious, I had the stuffed shrimp. It was good, but a little to spicy for my taste. Service was good. Pleasant evening, nice crowd, polite management. I would go back. Bread was from Calandras. Yum!!!! read more

I came across Bucco through Yelp and I must say this place is worth 5 stars. EVERYTHING WAS OUTSTANDING. From the ambiance, to the service, to the food. This place is perfect for a date night. Our servers Grace and Mara were both very attentive. The owner Frank even came by our table to see how our night was going and he was so sweet and welcoming. Bucco cannot be beaten. I don't know what is up with the one-star reviews because I would give it six if I could. Guess everyone has their haters. Tortellacci was unbelievable, escarole soup was beyond words, and you already know the deal with the bread. Service was killer and that's all you really need. Tell everyone to come here, but not when I'm around because I want to save it for myself. P.S. After reading the 5 star reviews I made an reservation for two last Saturday night. The restaurant was packed with larger parties and a bit loud at times. The decor was enviting as well as the live piano music in the corner..our server(s) were delightful. My date and I ordered the nightly specials- Bronzino for her and Orrichieta pasta and sausage for me..I must say both were a disappointment. The fish was extremely dry and fishy even though it was drenched in sauce. The pasta was overcooked and swimming in a bowl of juice. I recently moved to New Jersey and therefore I'm not familiar with nice restaurants in the area. I took a chance on Bucco and I was not disappointed. I had the beef short ribs and it was the most tender piece of meat I've eaten to date. The place is nice and intimate. The service was great -- staff continued to check in to make sure we were pleased with our meal. Overall, my date and I enjoyed our experience at Bucco, and I would recommend it. read more

Let me start by saying, We used to go to Bucco's when It was in Clifton. Well this will definitely be a new spot we go to, it's BYOB which I love and it's a quaint little spot, we had a great waitress her name was Mara , chatted us up and very friendly. As well as the owner Frank (who was great, friendly and gracious and very hands on) I started with the crab cake (which I should've first asked if it was lump crab meat) it was not. So I got the rice balls with mushrooms and sausage, they were delish!!! My husband got clams Oreganata which he enjoyed and Our friend had stuffed clams they were good too. For Dinner I had the filet of sole Oreganata which I throughly enjoyed, my husband went old school and had Chicken Parm which he liked. Our friends enjoyed their meals as well. Overall we had a wonderful dining experience, the music the ambiance, the BYOB and the friends . I would definitely recommend Bucco's and I would definitely go back.. read more

This is yet another restaurant who is charging 3.75% on a credit card bill. The portions are smaller than In the past, the service is no better, and considering there were only two tables filled for a 2 hour period on Wednesday night I'm hoping that people are catching on that adding a percentage on a credit card is a GREAT way of turning a legitimate business into a "hide the cash" business. I attended a birthday party here last night. I heard they were related to the Bucco's in Clifton, but there is no way. Buccos in Clifton was delicious with a friendly staff . First of all we were pressured to order our entrees immediately after the waitress rambled on about the specials of the day. I only noticed 1 chicken breast dinner,I don't eat chicken with the bone in, so I ordered the breast. The presentation was ok but when i tried to eat it it tasted terrible. I took three bites it had no flavor. I couldn't even eat it. The mashed potatoes, i think that's what it was, were so fake, were they pretend instant tasted ? like dirty dish water. The spinach was not bad. The kids chicken tenders were so over cooked practically burn. The kids wouldn't eat them but we took them to go and disposed of them. I have to say the sauce from the eggplant appetizer was good. And oh! The cheese platter that was served was probably made by a child, 3 different types of cheese cut up in cubes and a few slices of salami. That was the worse presentation of a cheese platter I ever saw. Not to mention our "Cesar salads" were frozen!!!!how do you serve that to a paying customer. Me and my family will not be returning to this restaurant. It was very disappointing. I heard good things about this restaurant and couldn't wait to have dinner there. One of the worse dinners I had. One more thing BYOB restaurants are usually inexpensive . This place is expensive too. Just want to add we were not offered coffee -someone from our party had to tell the waitress. Looks like a fairly new restaurant, has a quaint hipster appeal and super friendly staff who would ask about our meal throughout the evening. We were told throughout our meal that everything was homemade in the kitchen and fresh! The portions were great (got some leftovers out of it), presentation of dishes were wonderful and the tiramisu was so good I forgot to take a picture!Dinner was great and I would definitely commend if you want to try something new. read more

we hadn't been to Bucco in quite some time and were eagerly anticipating our return. party of 4 on a Friday night. the street was closed with outdoor diners and live music as we made our way inside and were seated immediately i had perused the menu online and anxiously awaiting our waiter's recitation of the specials for the evening. all four of us ended up ordering from the innovative offerings. my wife had the stuffed artichoke as an appetizer and it was perfectly cooked with a flavorful sauce that had lots of garlic and a little tomato sauce which melded well with the cheeses and seasoning. i ordered the watermelon salad with feta jalapeños and mint that had a light white vinegar dressing that entertained my pallet. i can't remember the ingredients for the other salad that was ordered but it was enjoyed by the others at the table. our fourth appetizer was the fried calamari which had some cornmeal added to the breading which added to the sweetness of the perfectly cooked rings. a side of marinara was a nice complement for dipping. two of the four ordered the pecan encrusted chicken with melted brie over spinach. both were generous portions and my wife substituted the polenta for the potato and vegetables. i ordered the sesame encrusted tuna rare and it was served as asked with a wasabi aioli that added some kick. it came over sautéed broccoli rabe with mashed potatoes. the fourth entree was chicken scarpiello which was enormous and had to be half a chicken in total with the usual compliments of potatoes and peppers. the remainder went home with our friends. since we had gorged ourselves we opted out of dessert. the food here is anything but typical italian and from the looks of the other dinners it appeared everyone was enjoying their food as much as we did. we would highly recommend this restaurant for it's food and service even though our server was challenged in taking and placing our orders. we would be surprised to see them there on our next visit. read more

I was so happy to have found little gem so close to home! We ordered the baked clams as an appetizer & they were so delicious. For our main course we had the shrimp scampi & the rigatoni with a side of the meatballs. Everything was absolutely scrumptious. Our server (Denise) was very friendly & attentive. That is NOT the case with Bucco. We keep coming back. They have been our pick-up "go to" for the past year and we have come to rely on them. I had dined at the restaurant prior to COVID and the food tastes just as good plated at home. Here is why you should go to Bucco: Everything tastes fantastic. Their pastas are perfect- full of complex flavors and done right. Their meats and seafood entrees are delicious. Sauces are on point and the meat is always perfectly cooked. The staff (even with COVID takeout orders) is super attentive, helpful, and available. The owner is charming and clearly has put his love into the restaurant. We visited the restaurant recently. There were not many guests during our visit. We ordered stuffed shrimp with crabmeat and shrimp scampi. Both meals were underwhelming. The stuffed shrimp tasted spoiled and I suffered a bellyache shortly thereafter. The stuffing was less crabmeat than stuffing For such a high price. The shrimp scampi had a very bland, non-garlicky flavor. I would never eat there again. The only redeeming food was the fried calamari. read more

Tough one to write so I'll go point by point. Location: Convenient and easy to park. Owner/Chef?: Didn't know who he was but came to our table twice to ensure we were satisfied. Great job! Food: I enjoyed my meal but there was a bit too much sauce. My wife's was similar. I'm a bigger fan of less sauce and more toss. Service: Like the server...hate the service. Twice during our meal, while interacting with us the server turned completely around to check out the game on the TV. And speaking of the TV, seems awkwardly placed and unnecessary. This distraction resulted in the server getting the drinks wrong and having to double check on my entree. Excellent food in a nice but not stuffy atmosphere. Salad, Pasta and Seafood were all 10/10. BYOB keeps the bill down which is nice.
