My friend and I recently went here for lunch. 1st time at this location. The lunch prices were very reasonable and the portions, more than adequate. We started with clams oreganato and meatballs as apps. The clams were delicious and the meatballs are the best I've ever had at any restaurant. Light, moist and very well seasoned. Delicious! They split our entrees for us in the kitchen -we had Chicken Milanese and Salmon Both were delicious. And accompanied by fresh vegetables and best ever roasted potatoes-well seasoned, soft inside, nicely browned outside. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan with pasta and it was delicious!!!! The chicken was nice, thick and juicy. The red sauce was excellent. My boyfriend was not happy that each Chicken Parmesan was $24 dollars but I thought it was very tasty. The only reason I would agree with him is that the pasta portion was very small and this is way I didn't give it 5 stars. But it's worth a try for sure read more

Had a lovely dinner here with my boyfriend this past weekend! The fact that this place is BYOB made it a plus for us because we wanted to enjoy our dinner with some wine! For an appetizer we had the fried calamari which was really good with the sauce! For the entree my boyfriend ordered the Spaghetti White Clam Sauce and I had the Stuffed Rigatoni. My boyfriend said he enjoyed his spaghetti and would rate it a 4.5/5 stars! My dish I also really enjoyed and thought it was quite filling when I had initially thought it wouldn't be! The customer service here is really great and everyone is very friendly and welcoming as soon as you walk in. We enjoyed the fried calamari as it was a perfect starter dish. YES. We've been to Bucco three times since it opened. Once during a special menu night (Mother's Day), once during Dinner Under the Stars (sat outside) and once on a totally regular normal night. As we live right down the street, we just call ahead to make sure there is going to be a table. All three times, the place has been packed. Bucco is DELICIOUS. So far I've tried the eggplant rollatini, clams oreganata, grilled salmon, spaghetti bucco, cod oreganata, and the filet of sole. There's a small number of vegetarian items - it's quite limited for entrees (especially if you don't eat cheese), but the spaghetti bucco is delicious and a solid choice for everyone. There's also a bunch of salads, which sound delicious. They bring out bread and unfortunately it's not always consistently warm and is usually a cold in the center. It's a little pricey but the portions are always enough for 2 meals and it's BYOB.... sooooo no complaints here! It's a nice atmosphere and interior, but I wish there wasn't a TV in there - it honestly kills the romantic vibe of the restaurant. It's not a sports bar, we don't need to watch a game while eating. I think Bucco is still trying to find its identity a little bit and cater to different audiences in a little bit of a strange way (fingers crossed the TV goes). We will absolutely be back often. Ok. So we called made a reservations for Fathers Day. It was semi crowded. They say ya towards the back. They were accommodating, had a high chair ready. They started jus off with bread and butter. The bread was cold, hard. Not what I expected. We ordered calamari and the shrimp scampi and the Sunday special. Calamari was great. Shrimp scampi tasted bland not my favorite. And the Sunday special. Gave me FOOD POISONING. My son, dad and I shared everything but that dish. I didn't make it home before I started throwing up--the works. Ended up in the hospital. I tend to be selective with giving out 5 stars...but this place is truly deserving of it! We actually came here by chance and I'm SO glad we did. To start, from the minute you walk in, everyone is extremely friendly and the place is very inviting! We were sat promptly and greeted by our server immediately. The ambiance of the restaurant is super warm, modern and upscale. They do however, have one TV showing the game (go Yankees!) which is very convenient for folks that want to dine out and watch the game without having to go to a sports bar. We started with the ginger mussels and they were delicious! Accompanied by warm bread to dip in the ginger sauce. I ordered their salad special and my boyfriend had the pork chops. Everything came out promptly and the flavors were to die for. The portions were also great and the prices were very reasonable. Oh, and did I mention this place is BYOB? We were so excited to find quality food within walking distance of our apartment. We had Jenn (co-owner) and mr. Bucco himself (chef and co-owner) visit our table and they were extremely friendly and welcoming. We are super excited about this place and definitely look forward to going back!!! We finally made it to Frank & Jenn's new place after being longtime patrons of the old Buco in Clifton. Without a doubt - they've hit a home run! Bucco in Bloomfield is absolutely amazing and we cannot wait to come back. Hubby and I decided to stop in on a Monday evening. Parking either on the street or across in the garage, just $1 an hour. We were greeted by Jenn and sat at the best table in the place - right near the window. Beautiful ambiance; the interior is warm, inviting, modern. And neither of us mind the TV - it wouldn't be Bucco without it! Delicious bread and butter to start. I had the Clams Oreganata and they were off the hook! Perfectly cooked, very tender and the sauce was amazing. Hubby had the Flatbread Bruschetta, which came out piled high with fresh tomatoes and lots of provolone. Absolutely delicious! We took some home as a treat for the next day. Appetizers were a total win. I had the Manicotti and hubby had the Monday special, Buttermilk Marinated Fried Chicken, which came with a lightly fried delicious mashed potato side and broccoli. I have to tell you - the breading on the chicken is something I've never tasted before. Light, flaky, not too heavy on the spices and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The entire meal was so moist and delicious - we took some home for our daughter. My Manicotti was so good. I love cheese and this did not disappoint. Freshly made with just the right amount of sauce. We shared a side of meatballs and sausage, which were perfect. I don't eat dessert, but hubby had the Creme Brulee and he did not leave anything in the dish. I am usually disappointed eating out at Italian restaurants but this one exceeded all of my expectations. Everything tasted so fresh and thoughtfully curated mixture of flavors and textures. Second, they were willing and happy to make some accommodations to a few dishes to make them vegetarian which meant that I got to order everything I had hoped to try. The portions were great and there wasn't a single dish we did not love. On top of that, our waiter Mike was extremely helpful, kind, and friendly. The Sunday evening vibe was relaxing and romantic, perfect for a date night or wind down to the weekend. I picked up my sister from the train station and she wanted to grab a bite to eat somewhere so we selected this place. They sat us with no issue. We got calamari as an appetizer and it was delicious. I got the shrimp salad and it was honestly out of this world. It had all of my favorite things, all ingredients were fresh and it was so flavorful. Modern, warm, inviting decor, with upbeat lounge style music playing in the background. They also have live entertainment on certain nights. Food was outstanding. I had the Pecan Crusted Chicken, which I could've eaten all over again, along with multiple different apps that were all fantastic! I WISH THEY WOULD HAVE A SIGN IN THE WINDOW TO PARK IN THE GARAGE (i got a BS parking ticket for fire obstruction and i would never chance that if i understood Bloomfield NO-SIGN warnings or even not having "yellow curbs".) Disappointed no VEAL on the menu. Friend liked her Rigatoni/Eggplant dish. I yielded to Chicken Milanese (slightly pricey for chicken) but ok tasting. I asked for Balsamic GLAZE but they only sent out (Balsamic) vinegar which didn't wake up the main meal. Clams Oreganata ok. Macchiato (espresso with foamed milk) was $5 which is outrageous as the better upscale places charge no more than $4. Decent one-time experience. read more

Jennifer is awesome the service is very attentive. The stuffed rigatoni is terrific and the ambience is very nice. The pork chop was cooked too perfection. My wife loves the shrimp scampi. This is a must and oh yeah BYOB. If you forget to bring liquor there is a nearby liquor store that will deliver to the restaurant. Or you can go to the the liquor store which is in walking distance. After being bullied by the owner of this establishment asking for someone in my party to change their review I thought this was extremely inappropriate. This wasn't even the worst part of it all, the person who wrote the review (an Asian-American) decided to call him back to discuss the matter, and the owner of the establishment kept talking over my friend, not letting him express his opinion again and eventually the owner said and I quote "take your Chinese food and go eat it at home", "shove this review up your f***ing a**". This is beyond racist and unprofessional. Besides all of this this place does deserve an 1 star review and here is my opinion why: 1. The service was horrible. Our waiter was constantly rushing us, taking our plates away when we were not even done, I had to tell her at least three times that I wasn't done yet. When she came to take my order I asked her "what are the specials?" and she replied "I told them the specials", referring to the people on the other side of our long table. She never bothered to make sure everyone heard it, or that everyone liked their meals, or to check if we wanted anything else like a coffee after our meal. 2. The food was terrible, presentation too. My mom makes a better looking cheese platter when family comes over. The food did not taste fresh at all, it tasted like microwaved frozen food, expect for one or two dishes. In summary, I'm disgusted with this place for the horrible quality of the food and for how much it cost us. I am also appalled at the owner of this place for being so racist and not even capable of taking criticism, instead he bullies the customers to change their reviews so they look better than what they actually are. read more

Went for their lunch menu before quarantine and was in love with the potato leek soup and quaint ambiance. The fusilli in vodka sauce is better than my grandmother makes (shhhh don't tell her). It's rare a restaurant serves truly al dente pasta or a not overly cream based vodka sauce but they nailed both. I've gotten take out a few times recently and they do not disappoint. Utterly appalled by the fact that this place even got 5 stars. Food quality was abysmal and service was underwhelming to say the least. The pre-ordered appetizers all looked like they were reheated from frozen stocks, and we were charged 10 orders of the eggplant dish for a total of maybe 20 pieces. United Airlines could have made a better cheese plate. The caesar salad for some reason tasted like shellfish extract. Just as we thought entrees would be more appetizing given the attractive description given by our waitress (which wasn't offered before she started taking orders), the dishes set us up for bigger disappointment. Most of our entrees were lackluster and tasteless and felt like they were pre-made. The top special dish of the night, osso bucco, was slightly better but was poorly presented and tasted dry towards the end. We could easily have found a juicier bone marrow somewhere else for the $40 we paid. Overall atrocious experience for a birthday dinner party. I wasn't going to initially write a review because I don't think subpar restaurants typically deserve my time; however, I feel this restaurant crossed the line. Not only did the owner call my mother to express his dissatisfaction for Yunpeng's comment below, but when my husband, Yunpeng called, he told him that if he did not enjoy the meal, he should "eat his chinese food at home and shove the review up his a**". As an Italian-American, when I see an Italian restaurant with a 5 star review, I expect it to be 5 stars. This restaurant doesn't even come close to receiving that type of an accolade. Everything was absolutely atrocious from beginning to end. The "cheese board", which primarily comprised of bagged cheese cubes thrown together haphazardly, was an underwhelming start to the night. I gave the restaurant the benefit of the doubt, but it only continued to get worse. The pecan crusted chicken was dry as a bone and was not as described (i.e no Asian pears - which is ironic considering the comment he made towards my husband earlier today). Listen - if you want honest criticism, be ready to actually take it. Once you start throwing racist remarks around, that's when the line is drawn. It's quite smaller than it's previous location but a bit more upscale with a cozier feel. The street construction was a bit of a problem but not one that should stop you as there is a parking garage across the street. It's a bring your own and offers outside service. Pro tip: order anything they've named "bucco." For instance, the bucco salad, with its crusted goat cheese, slivers of almonds, and tangy dressing, will make your mouth very, very happy. Last night the cream of mushroom soup was perfection, the cream and the mushroom not jockeying for dominance, instead prancing a lovely duet on my tongue...and the tortellini took a walk on the wild side with generous amounts of pancetta. My husband ordered the grilled salmon because he likes to stay slender - I'd rather eat - so I took a bite. My family came here for the first time for my husbands birthday, unfortunately it was right at the beginning of the corona virus. The restaurant was very cute inside and the food overall was very tasty! The owner came over and talked with us for awhile and I feel bad for everyone is who is being impacted by this terrible virus all over the world! Anyway, we brought our own bwhich is a huge plus.
