CAP'N ATKINS
Nana K.

All I wanted for Mother's Day was pizza. Pizza will never let you down. And Buccaneer Pizza? Man, they know how to make a pizza! I ordered their cap'n atkins, or better known as "meat lovers" pizza. Their description alone stole my heart: "Meats ahoy! First tomato sauce, mozzarella, a layer of pepperoni, then a layer of ham, all sprinkled with pieces of bacon, and finally topped with Italian sausage and meatballs". YUM. They are so generous with their meat toppings! Pieces would fall off as we tore a slice, and it was glorious to stack them back on. I'm not kidding when I say this was the best meat lovers pizza I've ever tasted. The meat toppings, perfectly hand-tossed dough, and flavor on point. I swore I could eat 3, but was full after just two slices! Bucaneer Pizza, I am a fan. You have a "pizza" of my heart. Highly recommend to others, especially their cap'n atkins!

10/10 What was ordered: Caesar Salad, Fire in the Hole, Great White, Cap'n Atkins, O'Hai I'Wana, and Wild Boar.My favorite was definitely Fire in the Hole because of all the meat toppings. I could have done without the pepperoncinis though. Cost : 1/2 Pan Caesar Salad $43.99, 16' Fire in the Hole $34.49, 12' Great White $21.99, 16' Cap'n Atkins $34.49, 12' O'Hai I'Wana $25.99, and 16' Wild Boar $34.49.

My only problem with this place is the slices don't last long once you get home! Best dough & ingredients; hands down

've been a loyal customer at this pizza place for a long time, and their pizza is fantastic. Their sandwiches are even better. However, during my recent visit, I was disappointed to receive the smallest slice I've ever had from them. It felt like a rip-off at $4.10. I had called my order in for a sandwich half an hour beforehand, and when I arrived, they were barely making the sandwich. There was no one in the restaurant, and the people in line had just bought slices. I'm not sure what's going on at this location, but I hope they improve their service. It's a shame because this place used to be one of my go-to places for pizza slices.

Pizza Paradise- This is where it's at... if and only if you want the best pizza ever created!! Buccaneer Pizza is the blueprint for pizza!!! Ordered the large O'HAI' I WANA KIKKICHIKKI.. Try saying that ten times with a mouthful of pizza!!! This pizza is definitely spot on with seasoned chicken, tomato sauce, mozz, red onion, pineapple, and bacon. I didn't get the bacon. I also ordered three garlic knots!! Someone call 911- I am in a pizza coma- one bite isn't enough- how about three slices one after the other, and I am down for the count!! The garlic knots looked so good in the display- they are filled with mozzarella cheese, drizzled with garlic oil and served with a side of marinara sauce.. for those of us who dip once not twice the marinara sauce is perfect ---thanks DANA. STEPHANIA and SOPHIA---for your ALL STAR customer service!!!!

Been here 3 times, each time ordered the O'HAI I'WANA KIKKICHIKI pizza. Just so happens the whole family loves this unusually flavored pizza. Of course, I pick off the onions and give them away. Read the ingredients, if you like everything listed, you're going to enjoy this one. I always get take out, and it always delivers. I'm sure eating immediately will be better when it's hot off the press, so, that'll be in the future.

String in pizza slice

I usually love Buccaneer Pizza. Today, was a mishap. As I bit into a slice, there was a long string which was either from hair or a hair net. *Gag* I called and the young lady said she'd give me a credit on my account. Tonight was disappointing as I had craved this pizza all day.

Pick your own with meatballs, sausage and spinach.

The staff here are super friendly and helpful. The restaurant has a modern feel to it. But, let's face it, you come to a place like this for the pizza and you will not be disappointed. This place has my favorite pizza on the west coast. Their pizza is delicious from the sauce to the great dough they use for the crust. I can't recommend this place enough and am glad they aren't near me because I'd go all the time and my waist is already big enough.

Ordered a half pepperoni jalapeño and half sausage mushroom pie, along with chicken Alfredo pasta with garlic bread. I was pleasantly surprised! Very solid pizza and pasta! Ingredients taste pretty fresh and the dough is pretty soft and has a hint of sweetness, while the tomato sauce has a little kick. Each bite felt heavy (Not a bad thing) was full of cheese, toppings, sauce, and dough. Definitely better than any other corporate pizza chain (Pizza Hut, Dominos, etc.)

Entrance/host lobby area is a little snug. We were sat at a large round table. They had kids menus for my girls. We ordered Pellegrino and a bottle of wine. Table bread and a delicious pesto butter was given to the table. I'm not a pesto gal, but boy, I'll tell ya. That butter was delectable. We ordered a caprese salad and a beef carpaccio to start. The caprese was really nice and refreshing. Served with arugula on top. They also added I think fried crispy capers on top omg. So good. The carpaccio was. DELICIOUS! Thinly sliced beef, fresh parmigiana, topped with arugula and capers. Probably one of the best I've had. For entrees, my girls both ordered the hello kitty pasta with bolognese sauce, husband ordered fettuccini bolognese, brothers ordered porcini risotto, linguini vongole, and mamas lasagna. I ordered rigatoni with vodka sauce. Everyone enjoyed their dinners. They brought out the giant cheese block for my brother's risotto!! My pasta with vodka sauce was very good. I could've sworn on the description that it was served table side, but it wasn't =0(. Dessert was something else. We shared the cheesecake and tiramisu. Top notch. Service was immaculate. Our server was present without being too overbearing. Our waters were filled and wine glasses stayed full. Very accommodating to our children. Definitely recommend for any occasion.

The bread was sourdough and focaccia, served perfectly warm and moist with a side of what seemed to be pesto butter. My first time having the spread and it was light and delicious. We ordered the Barrata ravioli and the Pappardelle, both absolutely delicious. The barrata was sweet and creamy and the short rib in the pappardelle was delicious. We also ordered the Branzino which had amazing flavor as well paired with potatoes and broccolini. To finish the night, we ordered the chocolate soufflé which was outstanding paired with chocolate gelato and whipped cream. The wine selection is also good with different wine's starting from $9. The ambiance of this place is nice, with dim lighting, creating a more fancy vibe. The staff is friendly and accommodating as well. The only downside to my experience was that I was sat in a high traffic area near the kitchen, so it was hard to really have good conversation. (I even had a reservation set). Also since it was our first time, I always ask what's recommended. I wish our waiter had actual recommendations as opposed to just telling us to order a salad and pasta to share. Despite these two things, still a great restaurant.

The city has older landmarks (the remaining blimp hangar from the 1940s, Tustin High School from 1921, El Camino Real from 1769), but few are as beloved as the restaurant the Dominic Corea family opened in 1961. Roma D' Italia serves a wide range of Italian favorites: pizza, pasta, sandwiches, soups and salads, specialty breads, veal, seafood, chicken and desserts. The building, in what's known as Old Town Tustin next to the Saddleback Flower Shop, doesn't look all that fancy, and it isn't. But inside, it's warm and welcoming, and the staff is friendly and efficient. We stopped in for lunch. The bread brought to the table before the meal was mediocre, but things improved quickly. I ordered the spaghetti with the signature meat sauce and meatballs ($19.50), and my wife ordered the gnocchi Catanzaro ($18.95), swapping the creamy tomato sauce for the spicy arrabbiata. We also split an order of garlic bread. The spaghetti was good, the meatballs were done just right, and the meat sauce was perfect. My wife's gnocchi was quite good too. The little potato dumplings were tender, though calling the arrabbiata "spicy" is an understatement. She liked it, but she was still trying to cool her mouth more than an hour later (true story). The garlic bread, unfortunately, was so-so. It was a skimpy portion for $4.50, and frankly, we got better garlic bread on Spaghetti Day in our junior high cafeteria. I know it's heresy in Tustin to say anything negative about Roma D' Italia. As I said, it's an institution. (I once complained about their lasagna and was practically run out of town on a rail. Seriously, Tustin folks protect Roma D' Italia's legacy as if it were their own.) Bread aside, the meal was delicious, and it's easy to see why the place has lasted more than 60 years.

This Kei Concept specializes in Japanese Italian fusion with a carb heavy menu, mainly consisting of pizzas and pastas. They also have a seasonal rotating menu, which is a concept I really like as it brings new flavors and items for a little change! I've tried a good handful of their dishes and all are delicious, my favorites are the mentaiko pizza and the duck ragu pasta! All of the pizzas are great, they're not too doughy, crispy, and flavor profiles blend nicely. The duck is super tender and there's a good meat to pasta ratio. The service is always exceptional and all the waiters perform very attentively, efficiently, and friendly. They always feel warm and welcoming, which makes the dining experience comfortable. They sat the only tables there all together which was not fun. You should spread patrons out so we're not on top of each other. We can then hear each other better and not get annoyed by other tables that are loud or have their phone on speaker. When the music played it was loud, too loud. When the music wasn't on, other parties were highly audible. Its a big open room. They need something to absorb sound. We thought it was strange that the wait staff weren't dressed better. It was fine I guess but even Olive Garden wears all black. The bus boy shuffled his feet around the whole restaurant. Please pick up your feet, its all you could focus on! He also came over and started interacting with the table next to us VERY loudly. I guess he was bonding with the kids. But this is not chucky cheese, other people are trying to talk. And since we were two feet away from them its like we were part of their chaos. He also started mopping the floor right next to our table. I though they were trying to tell us to leave, but it was only 7:30. When we went to the restroom there were no seat covers or paper towels and given the slowness of the evening, this should not have been overlooked. If you're seated along the outside of the room at the big bench be prepared to be a foot shorter than your dining partner. The cushion should be replaced. The food was pretty good, maybe above average but our appetizer of mushrooms and polenta was not what we expected. Are you supposed to spread it on bread? It didn't come with anything to spread it on. We were expecting whole mushrooms, not chopped up like a tapenade. We both had the chicken picata and it was ok. My friend and I agreed the best thing was the pistachio dessert. I don't think ill be going back. It wasn't terrible but it definitely was not a great dinning experience.
