Bucavino is owned and run by a lovely couple.
Everyone makes you feel like family...
We just finished a day of sightseeing, visiting the Galleria de Borghese, and we were tired, and frankly unsightly lol but we made our way to Bucavino. Everyone was so welcoming, despite the fact that I did not feel like I was properly dressed for dinner.
Everything from start to finish was perfecto!
Please keep in mind, my pictures absolutely, do not do justice to the food.
We started a meal out with sampling a variety of locally made Vino, and moved onto a suggested appetizer
The fried potato skins may not seem like a natural go to, but I'm here to tell you, they are absolutely magically delicious. Frankly, I could have just dined on those all evening, and I would have been happy. They were so tasty, that we even fought over the last few tries. The dipping sauce is out of this world delicious. It's a blend of citrus and mayo, and I don't know what else, but I do know, I need to have that in my life all of the time lol.
I ordered the seared tuna, and frankly, it's the one item that I would definitely not have again. It was OK but nothing fantastic.
The filet mignon covered in a white Parm garlic sauce with a little bit of heaven. The fillet was perfectly prepared at a medium rare temperature with the Parm sauce, all Melty and gooey on top.
I love the fact that dining does not traditionally start until 8 PM, and while we were there at 8 PM, most people who, by the way were completely dressed for dinner, did not arrive until closer until 9 PM.
Our waitress was just lovely, and ironically, from Northern California. She was so thrilled to meet us, as she said, it was bringing a little bit of home to her.
Add this to your list of places to try. It definitely is a you know if you know situation. read more
