My Yorkie-Poo needed a last-minute grooming session and I was able to find a last minute appointment with Katie. The app they use was pretty helpful when it came to booking and updates. Katie did a good job with my dog and I like that they provide you a 'report card' after your grooming session. My dog is known to be a bit of a 'dancer' during grooming, but Katie did a good job despite my dog not being able to stand still for a long period of time. It was also convenient for them to invoice me since someone else was picking up my dog. Price wise, it is pretty price-y compared to other spots - I would say another $15-$25 compared to some of the other places I've taken my dog. Honestly, I was very excited to try this place and give my dog a bath somewhere else than my own bathtub. The staff was friendly, but didn't give me much instruction on how to use the self-service part. I wasn't sure which products I could and could not use, and the products weren't all that. $30 for a single wash, it wasn't that grand. I can buy $7 dog shampoo at target that's better than what they provided. Nothing "Bubbly" about this staff... I brought my Goldendoodle in for a self-service wash--this was my first time visiting. Upon arrival, the staff didn't greet me or acknowledge me at all. No one asked if I'd been there before, offered any guidance, or explained how the setup worked. I found the whole experience to be surprisingly unfriendly and uncomfortable. The staff member on duty didn't speak a word to me the entire time I was there, and their demeanor made it seem like they didn't even like dogs. Which raises the question--why work at a dog wash? When I was finished, there were no instructions on where to put the used towels (which I had to locate on my own). I said "thank you" on my way out, and was completely ignored. Location: 48th & Chicago Poor customer service. Had an appt for 2:00pm, groomer said she just had to FINISH up face of another dog. Normally when we have our dog groomed there it takes just short of an hour. (just a straightforward bath and nail grind). An hour forty-five minutes later, stopped to see how much longer and found out the groomer had not even started. So not only had we wasted that time, but our dog was locked in room for that time. Poor management - they should have known how far behind they were OR at least called to let us know they were behind and did we want to wait or reschedule. My mini-aussie went in for a routine groom. He came out with several cuts on his ears, one of them that was actively bleeding. Let's face it, my husband and I, well our joints, are too old to kneel on the floor to wash our pup in our bathtub. So we tried Bubbly Paws for self service. We loved it. Walked right in - no appointment needed for self-serve. The young woman that explained everything to us was amazing and I'm remiss for not getting her name. The shampoo and conditioner options were great - we got the deodorizing shampoo which worked well. They had brushes, towels, ear cleaner, dryers, and everything else we needed to get our Bella cleaned up. They even had bands to put over our dog's ears to protect them when using the dryer. We will definitely be back for Bella's next bath. She appreciated the free treat and one of the cookies we bought. We have been visiting Bubbly Paws for years, but unfortunately the last 2ish years things have really gone downhill. On at least 3 occasions we have showed up with the door locked and a sign on the door saying they are closed due to staffing. Before leaving the house we called, but honestly no one ever answers the phone even when there are people there, texted, which the voicemail tells you to do and looked on their social media. So now we don't go unless we talk with someone to verify they are open. This often takes several phonecalls and texts to get ahold of someone. For the most part I think once we get there the people who work there are friendly, except our most recent visit. The individual working the desk was rude, bored and definitely the most unfriendly person we have ever encountered there. We have had good luck at the SLP location, so we might just start going there instead. read more

I'm not entirely sure how but the haircuts have just continued to become more inconsistent and uneven. I have always asked for the standard doodle cut and after yesterday's grooming my dog is completely uneven. Shaved nearly bald in some spots and shaggy in others. He also doesn't even smell like he was shampooed or bathed. I definitely would not recommend this franchise. I attached a photo of yesterday's cut you can see his nose is shaved way down by his eyes. Underneath his chin looks like the person trimming had their eyes closed. He isn't fluffy, he doesn't smell fresh, and he looks ridiculous. I have been a loyal customer of Bubbly Paws for the past 2 years, and unfortunately have to find a different groomer because of the way that the team AND management had handled my situation. Never once have I been "late" to an appointment for the past 2 years, and I had ran into a situation where I would've been running past 10 minutes late. I was not familiar with their late policy, but knowing I would be running late called my groomer (Alma) to inform her of so and attempted to work out a different appointment time. Instead of helping me with finding a different appointment time or accommodating to fit my pup in, she told me I would have to book an appointment online myself and told me not to come in at all. On top of this, she continued to be rude throughout the call. I had been to the St. Louis Park location and have NEVER been treated like this before, especially with spending upwards of $100 with tip for each haircut. You would think the groomers would have more grace to be kind at the very least. Because of recent life events, I tried my very best to make it on time and the one time out of 2 years I run late - the very least I expected that the team show empathy and grace to my situation. I experienced quite the opposite. Later come to find it, I am charged $75 as I was considered a "no-show" with no services completed, although I had been instructed not to show up by the groomer had I rebooked an appointment and I would be "too late" past 10 minutes. I email the manager (Alyssa) to be told that this was their late-show policy where if you are later than 10 minutes, they will consider you a late cancellation and no-show. Although I attempted to work with management and the employee to still get my pup in for grooming, they did not show an ounce of understanding or put in ANY effort to try and help me - rather rob me of $75 of no services. If you have any issues with this company, good luck with having them work with you. Had I known how terrible the customer service with customer advocation was, I wouldn't have wasted my time trying to contact their management (as instructed by their staff as well). You would think that being a loyal customer of 2 years spending HUNDREDS, close to a thousand bucks, that they would try to at least be understanding and inform me of their policy further, explaining I was not familiar with it especially being a small business. Good luck if you so happen to have a situation come up where you are running late, as they will not empathize or work with you at all and take your money. Needless to say, I will bring my business elsewhere. I do not recommend this money-hungry business/location that could care less about their customers or pups - rather prioritize taking your money. I've been taking my 18 month old/ 22 lb. labradoodle to Bubbly Paws, in Maple Grove, for a year. We've taken her to the same groomer, Alma, each time. Never had a problem. Today was a very different experience. When I picked my dog up, Alma greeted me with "your dog was very naughty." I panicked thinking that was code for my dog bit her...Alma confirmed that didn't happen. Alma said my dog doesn't like getting groomed and she told me it may be better for my dog if I take her somewhere else. This is the first dog I've had (and I may be bias) but do most dogs like getting groomed? Tonight we went to wash our dog an hour before closing as it stated on their website. The employee apparently had plans to leave an hour early. She saw us pull up to the store as she was mopping the floor. She walked towards the back and shut off the sign. We knocked as the sign suggested if the door was locked. She finally came out and met us, and began apologizing about being closed. She admitted this happens often and offered us $5 off of our next wash. She didn't take our information down but kept apologizing. If this happens all the time to her, I would suggest the store changing their closing time to 7pm. read more

When dropping off my pup, I was expected to get greeted by the groomer whom I had scheduled the appointment with - Nikki, considering my dog was a new customer, and of course I wanted to explain to her how I wanted his haircut to be and what parts not to touch. However, that was not the case...she was very dry and did not make me feel at ease in any way. When I asked how long it would take, she said 3 hours- which I thought was a little excessive. She then replied, "I was not expecting him to be this big, so, therefore, is going to take longer"....so you mean to tell me I created an online account and filled out all of his information online (age, size, breed, picture) for her not to review it beforehand? This only reiterated to me the fact that this store lacks attention to detail. Prior to my actual visit, I was emailed and texted multiple times asking for my dog's vaccine records, which I had sent at least 3 weeks in advance. I even had to give them the date and specific email address from where it had been sent because they did not seem to find it (even though someone had confirmed they received the email via phone when I scheduled the appointment). Fast forward, I left the store and got into my vehicle feeling worried and anxious - I swear it was a gut feeling telling me 'Don't do it!' and so I decided to get back in and tell one of the other ladies that Nikki made me feel uncomfortable and that I had decided to take my dog with me instead. Not once was I told 'I'm sorry' or 'what happened?'. Instead, the other lady attendant said 'Oh sure, here you go' (as she handed me back my dog). Never again will I be coming back here. read more

LOVE this doggie spaw! I took my pit bull Dan there for the self-serve bath. The employee was so helpful getting us situated since it was our first time there. My ding dong of a dog wouldn't go up the steps into the tub so she bribed him with a treat. This dog rides subways, in buses, golf carts you name it, but this was one ride he didn't wanna take. Goes in kicking & screaming until the scratches & massages start! I upgraded to the oatmeal shampoo cuz he has sensitive skin and I'm so glad I did. No itching & it smelled wonderful! I was SO happy to find Bocce's treats there! They are in our top 5 favorite snacks and are hard to find. I loved all of their merchandise, actually. High-quality items! I have been to the Maple Grove location twice, both times with foster dogs for each of the Rescues with which I volunteer. Seriously, this place is awesome, and this review is for the self-service baths. The staff is so ready to help, and I needed a little "refresher" this time as it's been awhile since the first, when I had a helper more familiar with how these DIY places work. So - let me help you out! You do not need to make an appointment for a DIY bath - just show up! So far, I haven't had to wait because there were stations available. It's an elevated bath with a drain and an open step - up for your dog. They have tethers to hold your dog in place, towels, shampoo, conditioner, and a lil' rubber ducky! They also have various brushes and combs for every breed. If you need a hypoallergenic shampoo/conditioner, you can upgrade to that for $3.50 each. If you are using a medicated shampoo from your Veterinarian, it's just fine. Today one of their professional groomers was working with a dog right next to us, and she had some good advice for me as we went along, and I appreciated that. Bubbly Paws also has a drying room with wall-mounted dryers, much like the old-fashioned hair dryers your grandmother might actually still have somewhere in a closet. (And if you find one, let me know...I need one of those!). If you DO use the dryers, bring the tether from the tub with you. Once in the room, you'll have the choice of using the tether to the wall or elevating your dog on a platform. The switch is on the right hand side and the lower is the "low" setting, the "stop" in the middle, and for "high", apparently if you want a furnado, press the upper. They clean everything up. You can leave your towels and such (please try to be polite about it), and they will grab them for the laundry. Seriously, you take your dog to the dryer, and when you get back to the original wash station, it's shiny clean! They are quick! You got a dog? You don't want to mess up your plumbing or have to clean your bathroom top to bottom or burn out your hair dryer? OH, and FYI...you need a Rabies cert if any of their groomers does any work with your dog, even nail trimming, but you DON'T need it if you're doing DIY. Happy bathing! read more

Although I live closest to this location and like it better than the other location, I'm giving it a 2 star. I pay for the membership every month for their self service dog wash and buy toys and treats every time I visit. I expected to bathe my dog at least 2 times a month at this location. But since they are practically never open full business hours and close when most of us are working, I've been needing to bathe my dog at home or go to St. Louis Park. The past 5 times I've tried stopping by this location, they were open once during their listed business hours. Unless you can be there between the hours of 10a-3p for self service, I wouldn't recommend this location, you're better off heading straight to St. Louis Park. Let me be your lesson before you waste time and energy. It's not easy rushing home from work, loading up an energetic dog and rushing over to get the job done, just to have to return home to do it all back home anyway. All the reasons I signed up for the membership are in vain. I'm done trying at this location. read more

I have been taking my dog to bubbly paws since he was one. I recently took him to this location to get a full service wash and groom. I got the call he was ready 45 minutes sooner than it normally takes any location to complete his grooming. He came back with random long pieces around his beard and a misshapen shave all over his head. I was in a rush to get home but when I got home I noticed all the issues and how horrible it looked. I left a message and tried to see what we could do to fix this issue. I received horrible customer support and am more than disappointed. I would not recommend this location. read more

I have never been so disappointed in a grooming experience. I called Bubbly Paws Maple Grove last week to make an appointment to bring my medium-sized (~50lb) goldendoodle pup in as our fav groomer was booked solid for the month. I was quoted $85 for a full service groom. When my pup and I arrived, we were not greeted or welcomed into the shop. The interactions were minimal and very cold - not the best customer service, especially for a new client. Less than 2 hours after I dropped my pup off, she was done, which was surprising since grooming appts for her typically take ~3.5 hrs. She was buzzed at a decent length, which was nice, but had many uneven and spotty areas, not fine for the $110 I was charged. I asked if something went wrong, possibly matting or another issue. Nope. I was just not given correct information when I called to inquire. There was nothing done or said about this horrible miscommunication. Very disappointing experience. Needless to say, we will not be back. I will continue to recommend Foxy Dogs in Minneapolis to our family and friends. read more

Just moved to area from Chicago, tried this place as we had a good experience with bathing area there (after going to dog park Elm Creek-do recommend the bathing stations if you don't have a set up at home-around $17). We have a 2 yr old labradoodle who was groomed here in June. Groomer not only was cold (appeared to have a Sat morning hangover), she was abrupt, and only took 2 hours (usually 3.5). They never consulted us before or after on how we liked the service. Didn't even see the groomer when we picked her up and felt like they rushed us out. Not warm/welcoming as we had in past experiences. Previous years at our place in Chicago they took their time, asked questions and our dog, knew her by name and she became one of their family as she was groomed every 6wks. When I brought our dog home from Bubbly Paws our extended family commented our dog looked terrible (compared to prior experiences). She had uneven spots and crown was scalped. I could have grabbed my husbands clippers and done the same job, if not better. Found a great groomer at our vet, Animal Wellness Center (Abby) in Maple Grove. Head there or somewhere else that is reputable and cares more about you (charged $110) but your dog's experience. Bathing great here if you want to drop $17ish for convenience, however, suggest move on for grooming. read more

It was so nice to take our Bernese Mountain Dog here for a bath. His hair is really thick, so washing at home is very difficult. The elevated tubs, powerful sprayer, provided soap and towels and the blow dry room kept my house and bathtub spick and span while cutting our normal routine in half! He did break out from the basic soap they provide, so next time we'll bring one we know he's ok with. Honestly probably one of the worst groomers I've been to and I've lived in 4 states been to a lot of groomers. The place is very clean which is nice but they really only know how to groom a dog if you use clippers/shears. They don't specialize in dog types, more armature cutting you could do at home honestly. I brought my dog in for a trim she's a Shorkie so her hair is more human like, they told me the only thing they could do was shave her down to an inch or not groom her body at all. Definitely not ideal and a lot of groomers in the city trim with scissors or understand how a Yorkie or Shitzu should be cut. When I picked her up they had shaved the top of her head down and left everything else long it looks like I took scissors to her head myself. Not ideal and definitely doesn't flow. So $60 later she got a bath, nail cut and a shaved top head not a hair cut! She's still a cutie but I wouldn't recommend a grooming here find a better place! read more

Manager Emi knew their team made an error with poor and unclear communication and even though we never received a service, we're charged full price with no refund or acknowledgement of their misstep. Used to like it, now not so much. I called last night to see if I could run in for a quick nail trim. No groomers working. She stated if I can get in tonight by 420, the manager would be there and she could do it. She leaves at 430. I ran out of work, ran home grabbed my dog and was at the location at 418. Manager gone. I tried calling at 406 to make sure she was still there, went to VM, but I was assured the night before that as long as I am there by 420 there would not be a problem. I have tried several times to get a nail trim at night during the week, but there are never any groomers available at night. Why? Isn't this your business? Do you have to be a stay at home pet parent to get an appointment outside of the weekend? Guess I will stick with my vet office. read more

I brought my 2 golden labs dogs into bubbly paws yesterday at 1:00 and they called me 30 minutes later telling me I needed to come pick up one of my dogs that he was too anxious to be there. (We were the only ones in the place.) So when I got there to pick him up they told me he could not come back unless he was sedated because he barked when they were grooming him. He only had bath and nail trim but came home uncombed and wet. My other dog 10 years old was then sent home too wet and partial combed. They have had bathes at other places with no problem so was a little disturbed by the customer service comments. I do not think the services I requested were done plus they charged my 112.00 for the screw up. When i was there they never said anything about the dogs trying to jump off table so thinking this was an after thought I have requested a refund on my experiences read more
