This was a last minute appointment so I appreciated the salon's ability to book me. My hair stylist was a very sweet lady and was very kind and gentle with handling my hair. I think my hair cut was good but I wish I had more volume at the top. I wish she took more weight off of the bottom or added some more layers just like in the inspo photo I showed her. Been here a handful of times over the years. I've alwaysUPDATE: I haven't been back in a year, but this was my go-to salon in the area anytime that I'm home. Although I really don't get my haircut often, I do come in to Sani. I had a different stylist today. I want to emphasize that I really like my haircut and am very happy with it. The only thing I'm a little bit miffed about is the add-on style charge. I had booked a haircut, shampoo and blow out style service. I had asked if my hair can be styled the same way in my reference photo. I believe the stylist tried to do it using a flat iron. The only thing is that the result didn't look like the style, which was attributed to the different texture of my hair from the person on the reference photo. I know it isn't because my hair can't hold a curl; I know my hair can hold a curl because I do it myself on rare occasions without any gels or anything. The result I got for my hair could've been achieved with a blowout (which would've been at no extra charge). If the style could've been close to the styling of the reference photo, I would not be upset with the extra styling charge. However, again, a blowout could've achieved the same result and allowed me to avoid the extra charge. I have include the reference photo and end result photos of the service. For this, I removed 2 stars from my previous review because it's my birthday, I didn't want to waste time and dispute the charge at the salon and I'm a little miffed about the extra charge for results that looks like a blowout rather than a "deluxe-style." Again, I like my haircut and am happy with it. I would probably not be back again because I'm unhappy with the surprise charge. My teen age daughter came here to this salon for her first post-pandemic hair cut upon recommendation from her cousin (although its a bit of a hike for us to this specific location). Although $40 seems a bit costly to me for a teen age haircut, I realize that women pay a lot more for their haircuts than what we men may pay :) We had a good experience, we booked the appointment in advance, we got 2 notification emails and texts asking us to confirm a day before the appointment, we arrived 2 minutes before our appointment time and the hair stylist was already waiting for us. The place was relatively clean, not very crowded, and almost everyone (but for one hair stylist) was wearing a mask. In a nutshell, we were in and out in less than 30 minutes, and my daughter was very pleased with the results. Couldn't ask for anything more! read more

Super disappointed in my service. Went there for toning and left without the slightest difference and I was reclined in the bowl the entire time. I called and asked for a manger they said they did not have a manager and they would pass on my name and number to the DM and they would call me. They didn't call me. I put in a complaint online and no one called me back. They quoted me one price and charged me another. It was well over $350 to get my hair done and not even close to what I wanted. I never write reviews but I really want to make sure that Bubbles is recognized for the excellent service I received today. I was really nervous about cutting several inches off of my hair and getting it colored for the first time. A friend recommended Bubbles to me so I decided to give it a try. My stylist, Alani, was wonderful. She took the time to find out what I wanted and did several rounds of cutting off a little and asking if I wanted it shorter. Alani took the extra time to make sure my hair was perfect, and even curled my hair despite it being after the time they were scheduled to close. She even helped me find the products I would need to help my color last. I've already gotten so many compliments on the beautiful baylage she pulled off on my hair. One day I stumbled into bubbles not really knowing what to expect and met Meriem. It has been about a year and I've kept going back to her. Meriem has been able to cut my hair from long hair to short to asymmetrical and even colored it from brown to red them from red to blonde, complete transformations. Each time I walk out I have exactly what I envisioned and even more. Today I went in, and I thought her patience and attention to detail was astonishing. Meriem is also not awkwardly silent as she styles my hair, she keeps the conversation going and has a great personality. I will be returning to her for many more years to come! read more

Got a call 5 minutes after I should have been there telling me my appointment was canceled because I was late. Rene is amazing. I used to pay $60-70 for a haircut when I worked in Tysons, but then I found Rene at Bubbles, and I like what she does better than what I got in Tysons, and it's a lot more affordable! She always does exactly what I want, or she has great suggestions if I'm not sure what I want. She's the best, and she's really nice too. Melba is also wonderful. The salon is nice, brand new in a new shopping center. Lots of parking (which was always a pain at the place I used to go to). And they sell whatever products you need. It's a great place, and as I mentioned before it is just as great (better even) as the over-price place in Tysons I used to go to. read more

Mary is the best stylist ever, she is hard to get an appt. with as this lady is in demand because she knows what she's doing, so call 2 weeks ahead to get in with her, no last minute appts are ever open. Sorry . Rene was a good back up stylist also if Mary wasn't available. Such great prices there too, and I always walk out & get compliments galore for days on end after she cuts and or colors my hair. If you're going to choose Bubbles, at least pick the one in Sterling or the one in the Dulles mall. I used to go to the Leesburg one because it was the cheapest for what they give you. The guy I used was awesome but ended up leaving for whatever reason. I used Bahar after and she did great work with my inverted bob haircut. Management is horrible! The last time I went (2 years ago) the computer system went down right before I had to pay, so the only option I had was to write them a check and the manager took it. A week later, they called me and said they lost my check and I would have to write another one or pay over the phone. How the hell they lost a check is beyond me because it seemed to have never existed to them. I then had to call the bank to cancel the check, which was a $30 fee from the bank. I told them about this cost and how I would have to pay for something that wasn't my fault. She seemed confused and then said I could come in for a free haircut. I was beyond annoyed and never came back for a haircut. I have been to the Sterling and Dulles bubbles and they were great. read more

I went here on a whim because I was in desperate need of a hair cut. I've been to chain salons in the past and haven't always had good results, but I thought I'd try Bubbles. They guy that cut my hair (I believe his name was Chris) did a fantastic job! I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he offered suggestions based on my hair type. The cut was great and exactly what I was looking for! I'll definitely go back! The only negative I have to say about this is any extras cost more. I got a deep conditioning treatment which was an extra $10 and using the straightening iron is also $10 more. He straightened mine for free because he wasn't happy with how it looked after just blow drying, which was nice. But I can see the cost adding up for any extras. read more

I think a good haircut is reflective of the stylist, not the salon. I've gone to top salons in NY, and gotten bad haircuts. And I've gone to Bubbles, and gotten great ones. Likewise, I've gotten stellar cuts in NY salons, and bad cuts at hair cutting chains. That said -- I think Brie is top notch. She cuts with confidence. And the haircut is always cute and current. I've also seen Melba, and she's just as good. For $35, these cuts are a steal! read more

Extremely disappointed with the up-do service that was provided. We had a bridal party of four, and one of the bridesmaids decided that it would be better to have her hair not done than pay to have her hair look like the others turned out. I took in a loose picture, with a neat, tucked bun. I got a style that was hairsprayed to my head, flattened with a round brush, and the curls were messy and pin style instead of clean. It was awful. The bride's hair was re-done twice, and still had to be re-done once we left. I would not recommend this salon to anyone for an up-do, especially for the biggest day of their life. We were told that we would have two stylists, however only one was there for the entire bridal party. This left us with not enough time to complete three styles. Very, very displeased. read more

Booked an appt online under "Color Bundle Services" Chose a service that said starting at $135 which leads you to the next page listing the stylist and their prices. It had an option to choose "Any Stylist" $135. That is what I booked. I brought $200 with me to cover the cost and tip. Came into my appt and the stylist Mani was friendly and she started doing my hair. She told me she would give me 20% off since I was a first time client. That was the ONLY thing she mentioned about rate/money. At the end I told her I was pleased and she told me the amt was $335. I was in shock and didn't understand why, I told them I didn't have enough. She explained what she did, which is what I booked for. There were other customers in the salon (Sat) and I was shocked, embarrassed and panicking on what to do. I had to call someone who calmed me down, came into the salon paid AND gave them a $60 tip. Total Bill: $395. I called to ask why the following Mon it was so much and was told Mani's prices were more expensive. I explained I booked "Any Stylist" for $135 and they just said her prices were more..They also lied and said as soon as I sat down Mani told me her prices. LIE! Had she said this service was $335 and I only had $200 on me I would have walked out. I was told Monday the District Manager would call me, and today is Thurs and still no phone call. These people are beyond unprofessional, scammers and rude. (Only speaking of the manager and Mani the stylist). On top of all that, behind my left ear is a huge streak of gray that didn't get covered. For $400 I would have been way better off going to a much more experienced, classier establishment. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM. Its unethical and poor business practices to do what they did. If you book a service for a cheaper rate using any stylist, you shouldn't have to when you sit down ask them are they the $135 stylist. Just Horrible! read more

I come here regularly to have my stacked, A-line bob touched up. At first, I really didn't care which stylist did my hair, since I figured they were all professionals and could do about the same job. This worked for a while, and then I got my hair done by one of Bubbles' male stylists who really messed up the back of my head. The difference wasn't noticeable when I left, but after I showered for the first time after the cut, I was not satisfied. I made an appointment for about five or so days later and was assigned to Tanya. I told her about what happened, and she listened to me intently. When I was done, she excused herself, and went to the back of the store to speak with a manager or coworker. When she returned, she told me that she was going to do my hair for me for free that day, and that she was very sorry for the bad experience I had during my last appointment. She touched up my bob perfectly, and now I will not see anyone but her at Bubbles! Basically, if you are going in without knowing what your stylist is capable of, this salon is hit-or-miss. Ben is the best hairstylist I've ever been to but he doesn't work there anymore so I went to someone new. As a guy who prefers something a little nicer than Hair Cuttery I've been coming here intermittently throughout the years whenever I was home from college, and usually the stylists did a good job, some more than others. For the last 6 months or so I've become a regular since meeting Meghan, who's always super attentive, personable, and knew exactly what I wanted. She's fantastic. Since coming more regularly I've noticed they've also stepped up their customer service game (ex. they didn't used to call to confirm appointments). I moved to Baltimore this past week and when I stopped in for my last appointment, Meghan told me that she had asked her coworkers for someone to refer me to and found me a stylist at the Bubbles in Towson who she thinks I'll click with. I know every stylist is different at this place, and some are better than others depending on what you're going for, but that kind of going above and beyond really made me feel taken care of. Definitely earned their 5 stars that day. read more

After a horrible experience at a salon in Maryland I decided, very spur of the moment, to get my hair cut because my ends were so dead and dry. I made an appointment with whoever was available because I had never been to this location before. When I made the appointment it was only for a cut, wash and style, but at the last minute I decided I wanted to fix the horrible dye job the other salon had done. I got there about 10 minutes early and was greeted and offered water right away. Everyone was very friendly. I waited about 5 minutes and then my stylist Donita came out and greeted me. She was very nice and instantly made me feel at ease. She helped me decide what I wanted to do with the color. We settled on partial highlights and touching up my roots and the all over color so that my hair looked even. The longest part was applying the highlights, roots and color and then waiting for it to process, but it wasn't too bad. After she toned and washed my hair I was kind of nervous because it looked dark, but as she began to dry it (which she did an amazing job on, she got it pin straight and feeling very smooth in a short amount of time) the color began to lighten up and I knew that it was perfect. After she got my hair dry and straight, she cut it. This was the hardest part for me just because I didn't really want to lose the length, but I knew it was smart in order for my hair to be healthy. I felt like a model when she finished. My hair finally felt soft, smooth, the color was even and it was bouncy and light. Donita was fantastic and I made an appointment before I left for six weeks from now. I am so happy that I had a good experience and that my hair feels and looks so great! read more

Horrible service. I went on a Monday around one and I just wanted a trim. The receptionist passed my info to the first stylist and she mumbled something and she said wasn't going to do it. The receptionist then walked the ticket to the other stylist in the back and that stylist said the other stylist needed to do it. The stylist who sits in the second seat to the left. I didn't wait on a third stylist telling the receptionist no... Nonetheless I walked out, really who's going to sit in the chair after that. Have some business etiquette! read more

Not happy. My daughter wanted her hair cut -- She's 8. Did some research, and bubbles says on their website kids 10 and under, shampoo, cut, dry $25. Okay, awesome. It doesn't say starting at, it says that is the price. We get there at her appointment time, and the stylist was finishing up his previous client. They asked us to wait outside. I get it, COVID. But it's 102 degrees outside and there is barely anyone inside. We wait almost 10 minutes in the heat before I went back inside asking how much longer. So, she sits down. They wash her hair, cut it, dry it. Takes roughly 15 minutes. We go to check out and they charge me $45 for it. The guy checking us out was very rude and told me prices are based on the stylist. Okay. Well list that on your website. They then tried to tell me for boys it was that price. Nope, says "kids". Try again. Anyway, paid it, tipped the stylist. Customer service sucked. Great value for a good price. I have been going to Bahar for my hair for at least a year now. She has a great personality and always does a good job! It's so hard to find someone that is consistent. It seems like they usually slack off once they know they have your business, so I love that Bahar always takes her time to give me the haircut I want. Also, I've seen Mary twice now for brow waxing and my eyebrows have never looked better! She is very picky about making sure it gets done right and I really appreciate it. The brow wax is a little pricey at $15, but she does such a good job it's worth it!! I would also recommend Melva. I have never gotten any services from her, but I have watched her with her clients and they always walk away looking beautiful! read more
