I'm not a boba fan. I think it's a textural thing. I'm a fan of their artificially fruit flavored icy slush. My combo of choice is watermelon and banana or watermelon and strawberry. I'm not the picky type so I'll tend to venture into other combos. This establishment is always clean. The furniture and other decor look somewhat dated. With two toddlers in tow I call my order in and it's ready by the time I arrive. They do sell other items but the only other thing I've tried are the shrimp chips. There have been a couple of times the chips were stale. I haven't tried their other menu items. The people here are friendly and helpful. I try to call in ahead of time so I don't have to wait too long. I have seen this place packed especially after school. Tip: Bring cash. They charge extra if you use a credit card. read more

I was so glad to discover boba when I moved back to North County! I may have developed a slight addiction... This place has great service, drinks are pretty good (I usually get the almond milk tea) but a little pricier than I'm used to. They only have the one kind of boba that I know of. They do have the stamp card rewards program which is great, since I end up taking student from my church out all the time. They also handed out clues for an Amazing Race theme competition we were doing this week, even though I sprung it on them last minute! There's not a ton of seating but enough to hang out with someone for a bit. In the summer it gets really hot here in the afternoon, I don't know if they don't have AC or just weren't running it? We have been coming to this local spot for a couple years now and am pleased with the consistency of their quality drinks. We enjoy their unique boba ice cream shake and you cant go wrong with the classic milk tea either. I am a huge taro fan and havent tried many other flavors here. The taro is decent, not fruit loopy tasting like cheaper ones but i can tell its a powdered taro. The milk tea taro has very little tea taste so be prepared for more of a milky sweetness. However, all drinks are blended to perfection, never clumpy or watery. The staff is also super friendly and gets drinks made in about 5 minutes. Talk about your finding a grip of Asians in one area especially in the north county! I came here when they first opened... if you're really good, you'll find my picture several times on the wall. This place is infested people with their wannabe rice rockets late night. James is the man. He brought boba to this area, which is rare to find up in the north county or in San Diego at all... They are technically opened til like 11 but if people start coming in and just chillin, they'll stay open for a bit more. Funny thing, I absolutely hate tapioca balls (boba) but i like the juice mix. My recommendation would be the passion fruit black tea. It's a great place to just chill with friends and chat. If you've never tried boba, try it at least once... its definitely worth the experience. Until they start putting tapioca express or lollicup around here, this place will have to do. read more

Came here for the first time today. The prices are pretty reasonable, and definitely a lot lower than the prices of the boba shops in Mira Mesa. There was only one other customer in the shop with me, and my drink came out surprisingly quick. I hardly even saw the guy making it. Anyways, I ordered the Thai Tea with boba. I've had a countless number of Thai Teas before, but the color of this one was seriously bloody-orange-ish. The tea tasted really diluted and watered-down, which I didn't really like. I almost think they substituted half-and-half/milk with water of the sort, considering how strange the color looked. The actual tapioca balls were also different in texture compared to tapioca balls I've had from other places as well. It was soft, and wasn't stale at all, but it also didn't have a chewy consistency to it. Overall, my drink was okay. Poor quality I came here because i had a late night craving for some boba. I have been to numerous boba places within the western region and im sorry, but this was by far the worst one. I ordered a boba smoothie and im not sure if she put to much strawberry juice in it or just over mixed the drink, but it came out like a strawberry boba water. Since most of the boba places I've been to are in Convoy (which is quite a drive for me) you could imagine how excited I was when I found out that there was this boba place closer to my home. I ordered a typical milk tea with boba; the price was standard at about $3.50 for the regular size. The person who rung me up was nice so the service is not the reason why I'm giving this place 3 stars. I don't know if it was just a one-time bad drink they made but when I started drinking it, I could barely get any boba up the straw. By the time I finished all the milk tea (and boba that I could), I saw that there was a HUGE chunk of boba just stuck together and sitting at the bottom of the cup. At that point it made a lot more sense why none of the boba was going up the straw... it was just chilling at the bottom of the cup! Anyways, I really hope that it was just an employee's mistake that one time because a decent boba shop around me would be LIFE CHANGING. To the seasoned boba drinker, Bubble Tea stands at A-OK. Since it's the only one I know about that's around North County, I guess it's the convenience and location that keeps me going. For the past few visits, the boba has been on the softer side, rather than "al dente". It might be hit or miss, depending on who's cookin'. I'd also like to see more flavored milk teas because those are the bomb. That would definitely merit a higher-rating update. Slushy slush drinks melt hella fast; about the time it took me to deliver it to my friend at Palomar, which is about a mile away. All in all, the drinks are quaffable at best. It's my long resume of boba conquests that has raised the bar as far as my expectations are concerned, so living up to that could be a challenge. I saw the reviews on Yelp and decided that I had to come here to try their milk tea and popcorn chicken. I'm originally from the bay area where there is always a Tapioca Express within a 5 mile radius of your exact location, so I was hoping to find food similar to TapEx here. I live in San Clemente now and made the 45 minute drive to San Marcos to try them out, so imagine my surprise when I get there at 12:30 (lunchtime!) only to be told that their kitchen didn't open until 2pm. What the heck? How is the kitchen going to be closed on a weekday at lunchtime? I ordered a milk tea with tapioca pearls and it was comparable to Tapioca Express, but I can't believe I drove all the way from south Orange County just for a milk tea. Disappointed! I will probably come again if I'm in the area for one reason or another, but I definitely learned my lesson. I'm gonna stick with Tapioca Express in Irvine from now on. read more

i had the almond cream shake jumbo size, they also have stamp card reward system and a very shady yet surprisingly friendly staff person. Poor guy was working by himself the whole time my party and i was there and he ran the place by himself! Kudos just for that my friends. This is one of the very few boba tea cafes in all of North County. Located conveniently outside of the high school, I came here numerous of times after school, hanging out with friends or waiting for my ride. There is somewhat limited seating inside, and there are board games (chess etc) available as well. Good memories! The staff is extremely friendly and aims to get your drinks done in a timely manner. In the past, I have rotated around the following: the regular milk tea, jasmine milk tea, almond milk tea, and mocha ice cream snow. While the milk teas are what you expect, I loved their snow versions! Perhaps it was the creaminess, perfect sweetness, or granular chunks of ice -- I really enjoyed it every time I got this. The only downfall is that the pearls for the snow line gets re-frozen within the drink really quickly. In normal milk tea drinks, the pearls are usually lacking in the chewy texture. All in all, solid boba place if you want to get your boba fix in North County -- otherwise, I would suggest you to go to San Diego itself for more variety and styles. I have come here a few times since moving to San Marcos. My first impression, along with my roommates', was that Bubble Tea was meh. However, we would continue to come here to get our much-needed boba fix in San Marcos. I mean, it is a far drive to go south to Mira Mesa from North County just for boba. Last night, I came again to meet up with a friend around 11 PM. Turns out practically everything is closed in San Marcos by that time, but not Bubble Tea! Bubble Tea is open until midnight, and it actually draws quite a crowd even so late at night. The staff were polite and friendly, and service was surprisingly fast. So yes, I am a fan of the local boba shop! One minor observation/complaint is that my friend ordered the hot chai tea, and it came in a regular iced boba cup (plastic) and sealable lid (also plastic). My friend had trouble drinking it because the drink was piping hot, not to mention it is cancerous to consume hot items in plastic! I would recommend using cups that are made specifically to tolerate hot drinks. Lastly, this place is not cash only, but they do charge for credit card transactions. As a former bubble tea addict, I have to say that this place is not the best, but it's A-Okay. G really loves the Royal Shake, which is the equivalent of a milk tea drink in slushy form. The milk tea is average, would be better if the taste of the powdered mix didn't overpower the tea. Sometimes the boba has just the right chewiness in the center, but at times they can be too mushy on the outside. This place is great because it's one of the few hangouts in the neighborhood that stays opens past 9pm. Perfect for those sugar cravings at 10 o'clock. I just recently discovered boba about 2 years ago... I have tried it everywhere. But In north county this is one of the best... the other best is Berry Happy in Downtown Encinitas. My parents and I came to Bubble Tea because we were craving boba and this was the only place we could find in San Marcos. The menu is pretty standard and similar to your average boba place. We usually order popcorn chicken whenever we get boba but the chicken here was pretty expensive - 5.50!!! We ordered their Thai Tea, Honeydew Slush, and Passionfruit Slush. The interior of the joint is pretty garish - they have light green walls, red plastic chairs, and a bright yellow-green counter. The service was very quick which was nice; we only waited like two minutes. The Passionfruit Slush I got was pretty saccharine. The consistency reminded me of Lollicup's slushes - it was mostly liquidy syrup. Overall a pretty meh experience, and forgettable. The only bonus was the cute plastic on the drinks. read more

Oc has better boba places to go, but it is an okay place to come while you are in San Marcos and craving boba. Even though service was good.
