I was there yesterday for a gel French manicure and a regular pedicure. The technician just painted my nails. My cuticles are uneven, there is dry skin around my nails. Didn't even clean underneath the nails. Didn't scrub the dead skin off my feet, which are also totally dry. Nails are not an even length or shape Not a great experience. HA! That pretty much sums it up. Went here on a whim because I received a mailer from them. Was a Saturday during the middle of the day, and there was 1 - ONE - customer sitting in a pedicure chair & NO ONE ELSE in the salon. I came into this shop one day on a complete whim, and have not regretted it since. Every time I walk in, I am greeted with smiling faces and warm hellos. Trang, the manager, is my personal technician and I luvvvvv her to death. I'm talking about texting her at 10:40am for a last minute appointment and her saying "I have an 11am opening" (there was also a 1:30pm but I live 5 minutes away). I love the SNS dip, but they also have gel and regular polishes. And they know I love the SNS dip cause it's fun and the colors are always vibrant. I like that I am also never rushed and sometimes I even hang out because it is a relaxing atmosphere. I even took my mom once (she lives in Richmond) and now she complains that "they must not know how to do the dip down here!! It's too thick." I am always being complimented and I love Trang for putting up with my desire to try any and everything. Whoops, forgot to mention. These are all my real nails. I don't do tips cause my nails just grow like crazy. However, I am notorious for walking in with broken thumb nails, so Trang asks if I want to add a tip, file the rest down, or change the shape. This place is amazing and affordable!! $35 for acrylic fill with gel polish is what I normally get and regardless of which nail technician I have, my nails always look absolutely perfect. I get my nails done every 2 weeks and this place has yet to disappoint. I wish the pricing was available online on their website or to have it hanging inside on the wall but they don't so you just have to ask to see a list of services. $25 for a pedicure which is super affordable! There are also a ton of color options both regular and gel. They also have a large variety of SNS colors. This place is definitely worth going to, I am very particular about which technician I see at other nail salons but at Bubble Nails I've had several different nail techs all of which are consistent and do a flawless job!! read more

Worst experience ever. I ask for French tip SNS with square shape. Before she started she told me it would be $50 which that was alright with me (which is topically what I'm use to paying) When she finish, It look so terrible that i just walk out after paying and didn't come back until the next day to talk to her( due to having a long day at work) . I was polite. I told her i was unhappy with my nails and if it was possible to get a different powered color and i would pay the difference If the was . Well this woman, a little older, told me she would change the color. I was under the impression that she would removed the bad job she did but what she did was removed the shiny gloss on top and paint over with gel nail polish (picture below). Not only did she paint over the previous nail color but but she cut my cuticles so close that almost all of my fingers bled and there was no apology. read more

Overall cold experience when getting eyebrows done. They don't talk to you or ask any questions. Bare minimum of 4 strips of wax, a tiny pluck just to say they did it and rough with oil. The tech I had didn't ask what I wanted or bothered to ask if I was happy with how the eyebrows were done. She left the room before I even got up and was waiting out front for payment. Won't be returning and would go somewhere that offers a more personable experience. read more

I gave this place 2 stars for the really nice and professional owner and a few other employees. Now the bad, I have been here 4 times total and 3 of the times I had one middle aged woman do my nails. She is extremely rude! Today I had an appointment for 11, as they open at 11. Well I arrived 10:50 and found 4 people already in the shop with no one to start my appointment. I waited patiently, shortly after I see the rude woman leave a customer's feet and motion me to sit in a chair. She never greets hello, never. I showed her the color I wanted and she abruptly stated, we no have that color, that color is out. I ask, do you have a similar color, no response, then, that color is out. The owner walks by and hands her the color in a different brand. She takes it and slams it on the table, and walks away. I've had enough, I got up, spoke with the owner about her rude employee and walked out. This interaction pissed me of for several reasons. This rude woman has behaved this way before and I let it go, she has rushed and did a horrible job and the worst of all, she has ignored me when trying to make small talk (thinking she would be nicer), while claiming to know no English. Well clearly she knew enough to tell me the color was out. Never will I go there again. It's a shame because my boyfriend likes the woman who does his feet. Ok service did a last minute walk In for a acrylic French manicure and I did not like how one nail came out. I noticed how she used one nail clear acrylic and then cut it and put the white one over it and the rest of my nails with white acrylic so it made that nail uneven. The wait time was not long granted I had an appointment at 2 and wasn't serviced until roughly 230. While getting a pedicure I was knicked causing my toe to bleed. Upon the washing of the feet, I was not even asked if I wanted them trimmed/cut down though it was obvious they needed to be done. Then I requested a French tip with color & it was improperly done. I came here before they remodeled and was not aware that they did remodel; I was in a jam and they are close by my house. They did a great job on the remodeling and so far I am happy with how my nails came out. I think they could improve upon the color/brand selection of the nail polishes. Also, it would be nice to have a TV that is right behind the nail techs otherwise it is awkward to turn to the side to watch as you are getting your nails done. When I arrived, the staff greeted me promptly. The salon was clean and decorated nicely with very comfortable looking chairs. I was asked to pick out my nail polish, which I must admit there was some confusion in doing this due to the nature of the instructions. The lady that did my nails was pleasant but offered no conversation. She rushed through the entire service and was very rough at times even scraped the file against the skin on my fingers several times and nicked my skin when cutting my dead cuticles. I had to tell her that the edge (quite visibly rough!) of one of my nails was rough and uneven as she was getting ready to polish them. The application of the polish was equally rushed. My gel manicure looks ok, but just ok. The entire time I was there none of the staff communicated in English to each other. Having lived in foreign countries, the rule of thumb is usually to speak the common language of everyone in the room. That was definitely not the case here. I've definitely had better gel manicures at other businesses. The most communication was at the end when I was counting my money to pay in cash and the nail tech immediately came over. This place was close to my home and very convenient; but, I would not return. read more

I popped in here on New Year's Eve day for a last minute gel manicure (it was about 1 pm) and they kindly took me in. And wow am I a fan. The inside is bright and happy (which is a stark contrast to the outside for all of the facelift that Barcroft Plaza has undergone recently, it hasn't touched the OG building and I'll be frank, that whole outpost looks a little hinkey) The woman that did my nails was incredibly thoughtful and thorough (I am an artist and work with my hands so they are a mess including a perpetually split nail from a bandsaw accident- the finger is normal but it damaged the nail bed. Sorry for the overshare) and she generously took the time to apply a little acrylic to the nail when usually a manicurist will either ignore the issue (which is also fine with me) or put a little crazy glue on it (which is also fine. So I guess you can see I don't really care) but I was so impressed by her kindness and care. The gel manicure was $35 which I can't remember if that's more than others in the area (I get about 2 gel manicures a year) and I think the last one I got at a different place was $28 but this one looks phenomenal. I just moved around here recently so I have been on the look out for my new bi weekly nail salon. The ladies that work at Bubble nails spa are very nice and welcoming but they didn't listen to anything I said. I wanted longer nails with a shimmery pink dip color and filed square. They inserted their opinions when I didn't ask and insisted I got a darker color with no shimmer and not with longer extensions. When my manicurist (not sure of her name) was using the electric buffer to take off my previous dip color she nicked my whole finger and it was bleeding so badly. I didn't have any wet polish on yet and I asked if I could wash my hands to clean it and she kept saying no then she reaches for the isopropyl alcohol. I repeatedly tell her I'm allergic to Isopropyl alcohol and she doesn't listen to me and pours half the bottle all over my hands. After that I had an awful itchy burning rash and she kept wondering why my hands were so tense. Not only were my nails not filed evenly but my nails look like bubbles ironically and it's not at all what I asked for along with giving me an allergic reaction. They got angry when I didn't tip them for the awful job that was done to my nails and the big burn/cut they left on my ring finger. I most certainly will not be giving my business to bubble nails spa again! read more

Update: This place does offer excellent service and quality. However there is one element of the customer experience that is off-putting. The first time I came in I noticed the smell of body odor throughout the salon and tried to ignore it under the assumption it was one of those human things that as a business dealing with the public you encounter from time to time. I came in again today, weeks later, and the smell was still there, potentially stronger this time. In a super clean place like this, it makes me wonder. It reminded me a little of the Seinfeld episode with the smelly valet. Did one really rank client come in one day and ruin the olfactory experience for everyone else from then on? Is it in the walls or chairs? Everyone who works here is well groomed so I can't imagine it's one of them. I like this place. Please get some air freshener or candles or address the problem gently but directly if it's a repeat offender (so hard to do, I know but it is costing you business.) read more

This is my first time and I was a walk in which I was thankful they accepted walks in.. I dId SNS since that's what I like, the place is super clean and I'm guessing the manager greeted me when I walked In, really nice person. Since I didn't have appointment a lady that was free took me in. I chose the colors I wanted and when she was ready I was wonder if she could do half and half of the two color in one nail, and she said no, which was no problem, I just had it before and I wanted again. When she was almost done I decided to ask if someone there does details on nails like ombré and some other good things that girls like on nails. I felt like the lady got a little mad that I ask for someone else but I need to know I've been around looking for a good salon so I can only go to one place. Someone else came and explain to the lady what dId I want and she said oh I didn't understand and I still left without knowing if someone there can do Instagram nails there, sometimes I have events and I don't know where to go. I gave 4 starts because of that and also because my nails are not all of them shaped correctly the lady asked me if I wanted to keep the coffin shape and I said yes please and still ended up with some round nails. I really wanted to like this place but after my experience I will continue with the same place I've been going to. I cane here for a pedicure to try the place out because it's close to me so I figured why not the pedicure wasn't bad so I wanted to come back for SNS which I have been getting done for almost a year now SO I know exactly how it should be done. The person who did my nails didn't really seem like she knew what she was doing she triple coated my nails with the powder which are now thick and then she managed to cut up basically all of my fingers. My thumb was actually bleeding and she didn't seem to care. I did tell her numerous times she was cutting me as well. I was there for over two hours which I found crazy and I only got one thing done and it shouldn't take that long. The lady I got was also not friendly at all, I don't expect you to talk my ear off but at least be nice. Maybe other people there do a better job and are friendlier but unfortunately I did not have a good experience. No one wants to go to a nail place only to have your fingers cut up. read more
