My go-to order is the Wagyu A5 ramen -- rich, flavorful, and always hits the spot. I also love getting their nigiri, which is another must-order for me. The atmosphere reminds me a lot of being in Japan. It can get a little cozy and tight inside, but honestly, I think that's part of the experience and adds to the charm. Mensho is definitely a place I keep coming back to. If you're looking for great ramen and Japanese food in Arizona, this is one of my favorite spots to add to your list!!

GKO had too much gobo, the broth was honestly too thick and creamy. I would honestly rate it a 5/10. Spicy toripaitan was better than the GKO, but still only about a 6/10. Presentation was nice, but I can't see myself making the drive back, unfortunately. Staff was attentive and fast though! Restaurant was clean.

Vegan ramen - tasty, but pricy…read more Tried the vegan ramen here and it was genuinely delicious -- full of flavor and clearly made with care. My main hesitation is the price; it felt a bit steep for what you get. Also, this isn't really a dish that holds up well as leftovers, so keep in mind you'll want to eat it fresh and finish it in one sitting rather than planning on a second meal out of it. Overall, tasty option if you're craving vegan ramen, just budget accordingly and plan to enjoy it all in one go.

I am extremely disappointed with Sushi Oban's handling of a serious food allergy…read more Several weeks ago, while I was at Scottsdale Quarter, I walked into the restaurant specifically to ask whether any of their ramen could be prepared without soy because I have a soy allergy. The hostess told me she would check with the chef. She went to the back, returned, and told me that yes, they could prepare ramen for me with a broth that did not contain soy. Based on that assurance, I ordered the ramen and subsequently ordered it two more times. Each time, I clearly stated that I had a soy allergy, whether ordering online or by phone. At no point was I told there was a problem or that the broth contained soy. Today, I ordered the ramen again and picked it up, only to find a note taped to the order stating that all of their broths contain soy and that they had tried to call me. I called the restaurant because, understandably, I was extremely confused. I explained that I had specifically asked about the soy content from the very beginning, that an employee had checked with the chef, and that I had been assured the broth could be made soy-free. I have now eaten this ramen on multiple occasions believing it was safe for me. That is not a minor mistake. Food allergy information needs to be accurate and consistent. I am fortunate that I did not experience anaphylaxis as a result of the previous meals I was told were soy-free. To make matters worse, I was not refunded for the ramen I purchased today and cannot safely eat. Instead, I was told I would need to wait until Thursday, when the manager is available, to have a conversation about a refund. Today is Tuesday. I cannot recommend Sushi Oban to anyone with a food allergy of any kind. When a customer specifically discloses an allergy and staff consult the kitchen before assuring that customer that a dish is safe, the customer should be able to rely on that information. The inconsistency here is both disappointing and potentially dangerous.

I was surprised that it included sashimi in that option and was super happy about it. The quality of the fish was great, especially for an AYCE location. Service was great and attentive. The only bummer is they have this A5 Wagyu nigiri that you can only get one per person at the table, and it was sooo good. I really wish they would let us have it a couple more times, but it is what it is! Overall, will definitely be going back. Also, side note, my friend said not all locations have AYCE all day, but the Scottsdale one does.

I think if this skin wasn't smoked, I would 100% go back to Yama and try their hamachi kama, but I am such a NON FAN of smoked food, that I'm not sure I will ever go back. Sad day though because the salmon skin handroll portion size was on point!

Good amount of fish vs rice. Everyone is very attentive. Service is very good. The ambiance is interesting :) nothing fancy but not too bland either. There are full moon/moon related decorations. What I got: Spicy miso ramen with butter…read more Tonkatsu ramen with black garlic oil Takoyaki Beef bulgogi Veggie egg rolls Fried squid legs Pan fried gyoza Saki bomb Let's start off with the appetizers. We got a free thing of veggie eggrolls due to them miss hearing one of our friends and thought we ordered it. It was nothing special though it tasted like the typical frozen mushy type wasn't very good. Disappointed on the takoyaki I had just one small piece of octopus inside of it and it was just all batter. Probably some of the worst type I've had. The fried squid legs. Were good can't really mess that up unless you mess the batter up pretty badly lol the Gyoza was very fresh tasting and had the perfect amount of crunch for pan fried now the tonkatsu ramen not the best in az but it was good not oily broth more thicker nooodles more on the thinner side and the pork was tender and egg made to the perfect softness for that gooey inside the beef bulgogi plate combo was good you can't really mess up Bulgogi so it tasted like any other Bulgogi. I had definitely didn't expect it to be so small though especially with how much you're paying I pay for less for way more at other places and they give me a good amount of onions on the bottom this place I barely got any onions underneath, and it was just all burnt on the bottom. So half of my onions were just stuck to the bottom and I couldn't get them off. The side dishes, though these are some of my favorite side dishes I've had at a Korean spot in Arizona. Super sucks because I would only wanna come back for the kimchi side dishes, but didn't really enjoy the food to an extreme amount to justify driving 30 minutes back and price , some items are a bit pricey, but most of the items are priced at the same as other places I've been but you get way less I really did like their kimchi, though it really was some of the best but man so far and nothing I'd want from that menu entree wise so I think it's worth checking out but I can't justify coming back

We were a party of 12 visiting on vacation, and none of us are from the area. We ordered spam musubi and a chicken skewer as appetizers. Both appetizers arrived well after our entrees had already been served and we had essentially finished eating. Each time we asked about them, we were repeatedly told, "They're coming." Mind you, these are simple appetizers that should not take anywhere near that long to prepare. When we asked for the third time, we finally asked that the appetizers be cancelled since we had already finished our meal. At that point, the gentleman working the front area , tall, with red hair, loudly yelled from across the restaurant, in an extremely rude and confrontational tone, "It's already on the grill!" There was absolutely no reason to speak to paying customers that way. His response was unprofessional, unnecessary, and honestly created a very hostile and uncomfortable feeling during what should have been an enjoyable dinner, especially while our group was on vacation and simply trying to enjoy a meal together. When the appetizers eventually came out, we left them sitting there because we were already done eating and ended up taking them to go. He eventually told us they would be removed from the bill, which we appreciated, but that did not excuse the way the situation was handled. Again, the food was good, but good food does not make up for poor service and especially not for an employee speaking to customers in an aggressive and disrespectful manner. Management should seriously address how customers are treated, because the interaction with this particular employee overshadowed what could have otherwise been a good dining experience for our party of 12.
