This restaurant has no parking. During the day it's not that big of a deal, just park over in the Walmart parking lot. At night, however, walking from the Walmart parking lot with no lighting feels unsafe- especially if you are a woman or have young children. Whenever we mentioned the issue to the manager he was incredibly rude saying "that's just how it is" "we can't control Walmarts parking lot lighting" and visibly annoyed with us for trying to bring up a real issue that could impact customer retention. There is a female in the bar outside of the "fish bowl" area, that is so rude and not attentive. She had black long hair and has a negative attitude. She will not check on your refills or do anything to keep good service coming. If you go to either of the bars, see Carolina or Tasha and they take care of you. Great service and kind women. Perfect, I get there exactly 20 min from the call and asked Carol (Girl who took my order) if I can have a Shirley Temple and she said "No sorry, we don't do TOGO drinks" and I thought, that's odd that I can't get a soda. Any who I get my order 10 min later and of course checked everything and was missing a few things that I had asked for when she took my payment to avoid another trip which included: Plasticware, Ketchup, Bubba's sauce, Crushed pepper and Parmesan. I decided to just get off and get it, even though I was in my pajamas. When I asked Carol she turned away and threw her hands in the air and shook her head. Where do I start ? We recently spent Easter weekend in Corpus Christi and used Yelp to find the best place to eat on Saturday night. The reviews were good and Bubba's reminded me of our favorite restaurant back home. I have a family with small kids so I have to be selective but this is the perfect place to get a fm great meal and some really cold beer ! We were told that the wait was about 20 min when we arrived but we were seated within the first 5 minutes. Our waitress was awesome ! She was quick and very informative when we told her we were from out of town. We started with the chips and queso with chorizo which was devine. We also ordered the curly mozzarella sticks and they were a big hit with the kids. We couldn't make up our mind about dinner so we went with a gourmet burger and a small pizza just to say we tried both. It was too much food but we were very glad we ordered because they were both delicious. The fries are thinly cut and cooked perfectly and the Sunshine Burger was made with bacon bits in the ground beef and it made for a very flavorful bite. The pizza was gourmet. Thin crust with fresh ingredients and we were in love. The beer. Ohhh my the beer ! It was super cold and a perfect way to compliment our meal. They have a huge selection of draft beers and bottled beer too. They also have a full bar just in case you're in he mood for a cocktail. They have their signature cocktails but we didn't try those. In all this was by far our favorite restaurant in Corpus. We will tell all of our friends about it and we will definitely be back. Thanks to the staff for being so great. Stopped for lunch on Friday not knowing what to expect. The place was lively. The acoustics suck - too much background noise. Ordered the quest, which was really good if not just a bit small. The salsa that comes with it leaves much to be desired. Me and my crew ordered the California chicken sandwich, the 12 piece wings and the Sunshine burger. Sunshine burger was by far the best. I could not in good conscience recommend the other two to other human beings. We ordered sangria margaritas, frozen, and we didn't like them. Ordered trash can punch....ugh! We stopped ordering alcoholic beverages after that. My sis later ordered the trash can punch and liked it. Different bartender, perhaps? Idk. Also, she had the pepperoni pizza and liked it. Granted, she compared it to Peter Piper Pizza "but with a better crust". Overall, food and drinks we're mediocre at best. Like others have said, service is horrible. My group of 5 (3 adults 2 kids) arrived at 11:15 on a Saturday, they weren't busy at all. There were lots of empty tables, but they said there was a 5-10 min wait. Okay whatever we had time to spare before going to the movies anyway. We were seated in about 5 minutes but it took another 15 minutes before our waitress even greeted us or took our drink order. We were seated at this large shared table area with bar stools near the bar- not sure why. Anyway the burgers were ok- very burnt on the bottoms both mine and my husbands were extra crispy. I don't know if this is a thing since their burgers have ground bacon- I've been to several places that have ground bacon in their burgers and I've never encountered the extra dark bottom party before. It was ok not really worth the $$ if you ask me. The queso was ok and again nothing to write home about. This was our second trip to Bubba's and it did not disappoint. The guys each got a different burger and I got the smoked chipotle wings. One regular fry, one sweet potato fry, one onion ring. So a good sampling. Service is top notch and there are enough tv's that you don't have to worry about getting lost in your phone. The shows and music gave us something to talk about which was fun for us. -Sunshine burger: probably one of the best burgers my son has had in CC, he says -Bubba's 33 burger: the hubs really liked it and said he would order it again. -Smoked Chipotle wings: not enough smoke or chipotle to warrant the name, but I enjoyed them. -Deconstructing them in my head to work on replicating them with more smoke and more chipotle. -Fries & rings: nothing exceptional, but they weren't bad. -Sweet potato fries: get the chipotle dipping sauce for these shoestring style fries. Again I find a place where the young ladies think they are gods gift. Sat for ten minutes at the empty bar waiting for service. As I waited I checked out the draft beer selection which was lacking in every way possible. No local beers just the run of the mill standards. I was presently surprised to see Sam Adams Summer Ale and when the young lady finally came over I ordered one. I told her I was going to pay cash as I wasn't sure I wanted to stay. The total was 5 and change. I gave her 6.00 and pulled out another two bucks as a tip. She rang me up and did not bring me my change! She walked to the other side of the bar then looked my way. I waved her over and she came to me and asked, "yeah?" I said, " my change please" to which she mumbled "really?" As she walked back to the register to get my change. I got change and gave her a buck. She did not say "thank you." Upon reading other reviews I opted out of eating. This place would not make it in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio or Austin. Terrible take out service. 3 hostesses and I had to wait 7 minutes for someone to take my order while I stood there... apparently none of them know how to take an order. While Im waiting, I grab a beer. They bring my food and I drive all the way back to my hotel only to find out they didnt even get close to giving me what I ordered. I called and spoke with the manager and explained my issue and he said he would credit my card. He never asked me for my name. When I asked him if he was aware of this he said he wasnt.
