Visited Bubba's on a Friday night with a friend before going to the movies. Bubba's menu is pretty large with lots of choices for pub styled food. The service was fast and friendly and the vibe of the restaurant was very lively and loud. There's a tonne of tvs too for watching sports. Second time I've been here. Great facility, lots of TV's with a variety of sports and interesting programs along with music videos. Very attentive staff and good sized portions. I went specifically for the breaded pork tenderloin sandwich and onion rings. These were staples in the Midwest and I was hoping to recapture that memory. While the portions were grand, they weren't made quite the same as I remember them. I went twice to verify and not rush to taste-testing judgment. Haven't been here a long while and decided to swing by for dinner. I made a reservation for 6 and my party was quickly seated. Our server was very friendly and the food came out fast!! The fried pickles were deliciously crispy 10/10. The pizza was surprisingly very good, highly recommend. My boyfriend and I shared the Large Veggie pizza with ranch. Too much food was ordered - easy to do - but only some of it was great. I highly recommend sticking with bar favorites at this place - fried cheese, burgers, maybe the fries, and definitely the onion rings - but skip anything you expect to have any amount of spice or kick. My brother ordered a few of the 'hottest' wings - the wait person warned him that they're very spicy. Even the kids at our table declared them more sweet than anything. This is a loud place that does things like big groups looking to watch the game and have some bar favorites together. Don't expect anything different and you'll be just fine. He never got their drinks he never wrote down the order so forgot most of the order .. manager got drinks way later but server never refilled drinks or did a check back.. Mom n my niece got their order after my sister had been waiting on my family to get their order to eat together .. I started off with some ice water of course and was in between several drinks and ultimately went with the triple crown margarita. I mean who could pass up on three different types of liquor in one drink? More bang for your buck. I took a sip and immediately knew I made the right decision. The menu had so many options I honestly didn't know where to start. I started off with the pizza and decided to get the California kitchen dinner for later. The pizza was good nothing too crazy. But baby the California kitchen dinner. I took a picture after I started eating and that is definitely the best thing on the menu. The waitress really knew what she was doing when she told me to order it. The rice was perfectly cooked and had a sweet savory thing going on. BUBBA 33's 1921 S Padre Island Dr Corpus Christi, TX 78416 (2) U.S. Veterans returned to this location on a Sunday in Dec 2022 to speak with a manager about our experience on that Saturday around 1130hrs. We were redeeming our Veterans Day coupons issued to both of us on Veterans Day, that day (Saturday) and it was totally horrible. When both Vets walked in we noticed about 9 workers at the front desk, and they just turned and looked at us, said nothing. We both stood to the side, and waited. After so long I interpreted them, and asked them can someone help us? A lady went to seat us next to the bar, and I didn't want to sit there. I walked to the middle area on the other side of the restaurant, and told her this is where we want to sit. She stated that this area was closed @ est. 1130hrs, huuun? She led us around the corner and tried to seat us in the back and told us this is your seats, wow! I went to the front desk and asked for a manager. Few seconds later another person came to seat us in the same area we asked for, but we noticed a white woman and family were already seated that fast, wow. Then another Latino couple was seated in same area, wow. Was it because we were Black? We watched this happen right before our eyes. Wow this is how you treat (2) US Army Veterans? Stick them in the back in the corner, with the bar chairs that have holes in them? No way were we excepting this. The waiter was great and couldn't believe we both went through this. I didn't want to address this matter that Saturday, so we did return the next day, Sunday and addressed this matter with the manager named STEPHEN. I explained all that's listed above to STEPHEN, and he told me he would only comp (1) appetizer that's it. I told him it was (2) US Army Vets that experienced this horrible customer service that were trying to redeeming your Veterans Day Special. STEPHEN said that's all he can do, take it or leave it, wow! I pushed the written offer back to him and told him to keep it. This is a place to get good American style food. Pretty much every meal is fried. Onion rings are fantastic, salads are good sized portions. All service staff are attentive and it's great that they have call ahead seating. They are pretty much on time with the times that they give you. The atmosphere of this restaurant is a lot more noisier than most places. You have a lot of televisions running and of course the bar is very noisy also. I went there during the Stanley Cup hockey season and not a single television was showing any of the live games. I made a request to change a television that I was looking at to play the hockey action. The manager finally did it when I was getting ready to walk out the door.Oh, they were showing were music videos, chive TV, and football /basketball reruns.
