Not impressed. The food was ok but I don't like paying that much for mediocre food. I'd rather cook.

In a pinch, I would recommend this place. Basically because the beer is cold and wait staff pleasant to look at. BBQ is so so.

We ordered the carry out pack 6 and the food not only being not edible, it wasn't even enough to feed 6 people and they tried to rip me off and not give me all my food. Disappointing almost from entering the restaurant. A Saturday afternoon, not busy at all, about 50% capacity as there were events at nearby Ft Polk. We were seated quickly in the bar area and drink orders were taken(which arrived promptly). Fifteen minutes passed prior to our food order being taken and then twenty prior to being served. I ordered a brisket dinner with beans and sweet potato fries. The brisket was room temperature and it did not taste as if it had ever been near a smoker. The meat lacked color and there was no smoke ring. The only positive was that it was tender. The side orders were hot and flavorful. My wife ordered Redneck Nachos, listed as having "chunky Tater Bits" which were actually crinkle cut frozen French fries. The dish had so little cheese that one would wonder whether they had run out. The waitress who took our order was pleasant, however the woman who served it was as dour as could be. We had more attention from the fly buzzing round the table than from the staff. As we were leaving, the waitresses from the other side of the restaurant bade us a hearty farewell and well wishes. I was happy that we only live about five minutes from the restaurant. The ill effect on my digestive system was almost immediate. I won't be returning. read more

Environment was nice, food wasn't so great. I ordered the brisket and I didn't even end up eating it. It was fat with a few piece of meat on the fat. My husband loved his food, and my daughter was happy with hers, but I was very dissatisfied with mine. We tried this place for the first time...and it was great! Everything we got tasted fabulous. The corn nuggets and chili cheese fries are great. Their mac and cheese was the best I've had at a restaurant. The restaurant was clean and our sever was friendly and attentive. We received our meals in decent timing and it was hot. It's priced pretty average for a BBQ restaurant. Overall I very much enjoyed dining here and I plan to attend in the near future. I hope they do take out! read more

Any barbecue place that lets you put on your own sauce, so you can first taste the meat is always worth trying. The pork sandmich, yes sandmich,was great. Oh and you must try the mac & cheese. I really enjoyed the bar (well mixed drinks and very reasonable price) and they were very good about setting our large group up in a room to ourselves with a well situated tv for watching sports. The food met expectations, but fell short for me as far as bbq options go. I would have liked to have more than 2 sauce options. Stopped there on my way to Fort Polk. I ordered the bbq rib dinner with "tater salad " as its stated on the menu. Food came promptly and was pretty decent. The rib sauce was ok. Had a decent smoke flavor to it. The portion wasn't what I would call dinner size but the potato salad was really good. Wished they had cornbread Instead of toast though. read more

This place is hands down one of the best restaurants in the Leesville/New Llano area. We have been here several times and have placed to go orders on several occasions. The food is always SO good!! The brisket is very good! We ordered the Bacon wrapped jalapeños one time and no way never again! A friend told me how good they were so we decided to try them. The 1st one I bit into was so hot I drank a whole glass of tea and had to get a second. It was extremely hot!!! If you like hot foods then try those, but no thank you. The food is good here. But please be careful if you use your credit card to pay your bills. My bill was $8.20 and I paid the tip in cash. When I checked my bank statement later, they charged me $11.20. Food is good here but some the employees may take advantage and give themselves a tip without you knowing. Took the family there for lunch today. I found great irony in the back of their shirts "if there's smoke there's bbq" there was no smoke smell outside building. I was told the food is prepared offsite and reheated. We ordered the redneck nachos for appetizers. This was crinkle cut French fries with cheese, bbq sauce, and pulled pork. It was pretty decent but not what was expected. Our server disappeared after delivering this dish. Other employees brought our entrees to the table over a 5 min period. My son and I got cheese burgers. They were tepid outside and slightly cool in the middle, but fully cooked. The lettuce was from the said batch since it was in small squares and useless on burger. The ambiance is great in this establishment. I ordered the double down nachos, which are really French fries with pulled pork, smoke brisket, and bbq sauce. The neat thing about this place is that there are 6 different sauces to choose from at the table. I had the brownie for dessert which was soft and moist. BubbaQue's is one of those places where you never know what you'll get. Sometimes it's great, sometimes your stomach reminds you why you stopped going there after the last time. The brisket is great when it isn't burnt. The chicken is pretty good when it isn't undercooked. The waiting staff is nice when they remember that they have your table. You never know if it will be good or bad, but it's the only BBQ place in town so if you go you had better hope it's a good day. read more

Disappointing. First of all I tried to order a baked potato as a side but they were going to charge me the full $6.99 for the cost of a potato instead of an up charge in place of the other sides. I have been here twice. Both times I had the pick three platters. Food is pretty good, BBQ sauces are decent. Its an adequate BBQ spot for the area but have definitely had better. My main issue is with the service. The first time, a Thursday, it took a little long to receive our food. But tonight, a Saturday evening, they seemed to struggle. Our waitress was very good. However when our food took 45 min to get to our table and arrived cold, then the broccoli arrived with a sticker in it, (not to mention the temperature was like warm at best), the manager didn't even take their time to talk or apologize and gave us a weak 10% discount. I not only wasted my entire evening waiting on like warm food, but was insulted by the management for not having time to deal with me. Come here if you have time or it's a slow weekday, stay clear of you have other options. I won't be coming back. They serve hot foods in baskets and metal trays. If they change these the heat may hold better. read more
