    Chicken chimichanga

I LOVE this place! I've been coming here for years and everything's delicious. I've had their nachos, their wings, the Skinny Salad, and many other things. Their tacos are DELICIOUS! Tonight I'm having a chicken chimichanga. It's scrumptious!

Very, very good Mexican spot. Everything I had from this place was very tasty. I wanted to try quite a variety of items from this spot, including the quesadilla, platanos Fritos, and the tres leches. Every single thing I had was very good. To start, the main meal, the quesadilla, was quite filling. They served it with complimentary rice. The rice was surprisingly flavorful, and had a great soft texture. The quesadilla itself was also quite good, filled with a nice amount of cheese. Simple but tasty. The platanos Fritos were also excellent. The plantains themselves were sweet and soft. Almost worthy of being a dessert. The cheese they had on top was a bit unnecessary in my opinion, as it was stringy and tasted a bit like plastic. But still, very good overall. The tres leches was an excellent dessert to end off the night. So creamy, fluffy, and perfectly sweet. They definitely do not hold back on the whipped cream here (which was a tad excessive). All in all, a very nice Mexican spot. I would definitely come again. Enjoyed everything I had.

Very quick for takeout and on street metered parking right in front. The skinny salad was tasty but didn't have Mexican flavors. I like the egg. However the egg and dressing leaked from the takeout container onto the tortilla chips below making them soggy by the time I got home. The guac was good and could have used more flavor. All of the food was fresh.

A wonderful local Mexican restaurant! They have a spacious indoor room and bar, but I highly recommend their patio. The tables are covered so you won't get too hot and it's very peaceful. The service is great with coming to your table right away for drinks and giving you enough time to review the menu. There are so many delicious options to choose from! I ended up going with the Arrachera BTOS-K tacos. The tacos came with fresh cilantro, onion, and lime; with a very flavorful avocado salsa drizzled on top. The grilled flank steak was a bit chewy in some bites, but overall delicious. I also got rice as a side and it was seasoned nicely and not boring like typical white rice. I was still a bit hungry after my 2 tacos, but happy with my order, I'd just recommend getting 3. Looking forward to coming back to try more of their food!

First time here and this place is a gem! It doesn't look like much on the outside and I have driven past it so many times! The street tacos were so good, the chorizo and Barbacoa were my favs. I can't wait to go back and try more on the menu!

YES. YES. YES. This hands down is the best Mexican food in Pittsburgh! First off, the margarita was perfect! Literally they hand squeezed fresh lime and lemon. No concentrated mix! I've never had a marg that good before! Secondly, the tacos. Ahh the tacos. So good. Such fresh ingredients. And the corn tortillas were amazing. The Al Pastor were soooo good, and the chorizo Street tacos were awesome! I just can't get over how authentic this place is. It's the real deal. RUN, don't walk to try this place. I'll be back for sure!

Y'ALL.LIED (& so did their website) :/ Margaritas started at $3, MORE, than their website says. I got their wings. Partly out of spite bc I had picked and driven to them, wanting to try one of their, reasonably priced, "dangerously good margaritas", but at 2-3x what I can get, elsewhere, I didn't. And, after getting these, dried out, SKIMP, greasy, odd tasting wings, I'm GLAD I DIDN'T. I work in the food industry (and a passionate cook/foodie, myself) HOW are you going to serve someone, THIS!?! SMH ONLY customer and she was in the kitchen/back (I was at the bar), most of the time. OH, and no tap beers, either.

MMMmm! The BEST Mexican food in Pittsburgh! Great menu, full of authentic tasty options. They have cactus, mole, elote, huitlacoche, and churros!!! Can't wait to try more from their menu. Nice patio in the back, and a playlist that makes you feel like you're in Mexico. Service is very good too.

Anytime my mom and I are out near Shadyside, we love to eat there. We love Mexican food and they do it so well. My husband loved his pozole soup. I had the tortilla soup today and it had such great flavor. I would be easier to eat if the tortilla strips in it were a little bit smaller. The birria tacos were phenomenal. The shredded beef is so tender and has the most amazing flavor. They're also super cheesy. The consommé really made it too. The chimichangas are very crunchy and you can't go wrong with any protein you choose. The guacamole is so creamy and tasty. Their chips are really good too. I have never had a drink there but they always look good. Go check them out if you like Mexican food. We have loved everything we have tried and you will too. Absolutely loved the birria tacos. Both of my grandmothers were your typical Hispanic women who made the best Mexican food I had growing up. Living in Pittsburgh, most Mexican restaurants I have visited usually miss the mark and I typically never return. Not with Buenatarde! I usually avoid eating at Mexican restaurants in Pittsburgh, as I'm always disappointed with the quality of the food. Most restaurants seem to use premade ingredients, which is insane cause Mexican food cooked fresh is usually not that hard or expensive. Not with buenatarde, everything we ordered was made in house. The refried beans and rice tasted almost as good as my grandmothers use to cook. Not quite, but close! The carnitas tasted really good, the only issue we had was it was a tad dry. Not sure if it was overcooked, but it did taste good. Otherwise, everything else was great and we will be returning to try the brunch on a weekend.

The refried beans with cheese, queso on top of the chimichanga, and plantains were amazing! Unfortunately, the carnitas were dry and bland as you can see pictured. The tortilla could have been cooked longer as well. The chorizo was surprisingly spicy and good. The prices seem high but you get a decent amount of meat. We'd go back again and try the brunch menu or another protein.

An objectively biased review. The most positively biased review possible. "Oh no", you're thinking, "*Bias*? Not in MY 5-star rating system." It's true. I admit everything. I am biased by how genuinely great Tepache is. By how *good* their chips are--crispy and flaky and perfectly seasoned. All of it is top-notch. And by the good people who keep the place running. This is the thing that is biasing my review the most. Tonight, after a Grubhub glitch dropped our order into a wormhole, they were incredibly gracious and kind and offered to make another *and then drove it out to us*. It made our night good and not-hungry instead of bad and hungry, and for that we are beyond grateful. 6/5 stars. No, wait: 7/5.

The best one had to be the al pastor because it wasn't dry and had lots of flavor. I opted for the red morita spicy sauce, and trust it actually has spice and kick to it. The tacos are double layered, which is nice. Decent meal for a Tuesday dinner, their menu is pretty basic for a taco place. For instance, their only dessert is churros with chocolate sauce.
