I had been following Bryn Oaks B & B for a few months on Instagram & FB, anxiously awaiting their opening. Our son is a freshman at UMHB. We are always looking for a unique place to stay when we travel AND a way to support local business so I was excited to learn they were open when we came down for family weekend.
We LOVED the charm of this historic house and how Rhonda & Kirk worked in the history of the house and added modern amenities. From the gorgeous hardwood floors and antique furniture throughout, the beautiful spiral staircase, the original doors and door handle hardware to the original windows, this home does not disappoint.
Rhonda and Kirk were very helpful and responsive while we were booking, before our stay and while we were there.
We loved the breakfast: AMAZING jalapeño cheese grits (OMGEEE), delicious rosemary lemon muffins (another FAVORITE), eggs, bacon, granola, fruit, yogurt, juice, tea & coffee. We enjoyed dining and chatting with Rhonda, Kirk and their adorable grandson. We learned so much about the history of the house and Belton.
Our visit was very relaxing. There is a beautiful courtyard out back with tables and a water feature.
Our room faced Main Street and 1st Baptist Church was on the side. We enjoyed the faint ringing of the bells from the church every hour but never heard any traffic from the street. We were within walking distance of both UMHB and downtown Belton.
We look forward to coming down again to see Rhonda and Kirk!
