Anal Beads! This best western seemed nice and affordable enough. There were skittles and crushed up…read morechips on the floor, so the room was obviously not clean. The ironing board in our room had blood stains on it, but we didn't need to use it anyway, so we just made jokes about how many people probably died here and carried on. Then on the first night, at about 1 am, we were ready for bed but still awake hanging out. He made reference to how the headboard was made, and we go to inspect it when we noticed ANAL BEADS. ANAL BEADS BEHIND THE MATTRESS. LESS THAN A FOOT FROM MY BOYFRIENDS FACE!!!!! I feel like I cannot stress enough that there were ANAL BEADS!!! I was gagging. I wanted to throw up thinking about the things that DEFINITELY happened in the bed!!!! We called the front desk and explained the very uncomfortable situation we were just faced with. The man at the front desk immediately got us moved (god bless). We asked if maybe we could get some sort of compensation for the night, but he wasn't a manager. Our new room was nicer, but there was a live bug on the floor missing a leg in our bathroom, moths, and a spider in the bed. We were still unsettled for the rest of the weekend. I mean there were ANAL BEADS. I'm still in shock. In our new room, the mini fridge was nearly freezing everything we put in it but not cold enough to keep frozen stuff frozen. We tried to speak to the manager directly, but she was never there, so the staff gave us a business card. My boyfriend called the number on the card for Marjorie Randall after we checked out. And this woman had the most unnecessary, unprofessional, just overall nasty, rude attitude. She was cutting him off and not letting him get a word in. She told him that our night was not ruined. Having to pack up our bags in the middle of the night when we were ready to go to sleep was definitely a buzz kill. She said incidents like this have happened before and we were reacting worse than anyone else previously had. (??????what??????) She said we were not going to get the 2 free nights we were demanding. We were very clearly asking her to comp 1 night and that was all we asked from the beginning, but she was not letting him speak. After that, we realized we weren't going to get any help. This is a great place to stay if you're looking to get freaky or do some crack. But I wouldn't recommend bringing the kids or trying to have a nice, calm weekend here. The staff were friendly, but the management blatantly does not care about their business. Just go somewhere else, you're better off.

We stayed here for a wedding. Called for early check in and paid the $30 fee to get into the room…read moretwo hours early. At check-in they weren't sure our room was ready so we got switched to another one. We had one hour to get ready to catch the only shuttle to wedding. Here's the highlights: there was hair in both bed sheets (sheets never changed), the bathroom was disgusting (rust and mildew on light over sink; urine stained caulking, etc), urine on the tub caulk, bathroom ceiling vent covered in layers of dust, stains on the lamp. I also don't think the hotel hallways have air conditioning. Beds are a joke. I sat on the edge of one the mattress folded and flipped you on ground. Both mattress are loud and they had caved in body outlines - who knows how many years old they are. Bright side? Lobby was redone and pool looked inviting. I would never stay here again.

The animals are so well taken care of and loved. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience, and we are so glad to have stayed there. Special shout out to Allen the Chef who made some of the most delicious meals I have had and Anne and Jackie who were so knowledgeable about otters and kangaroos. We also loved Dundee (their baby kangaroo.)

The place was clean and just the right size for my wife and I. Being city folks you forget how dark it is out in the country at nights. It was nice. We signed up for these adventures to make the weekend even more fun: 1. Feed baby kangaroo(Bodhi). This was about a 30 minute session where we got to feed him a bottle and kibble. It really was an amazing experience. 2. Bucket of food and self guided feeding of animals. We walked the property and hid to feed so many animals. All of the animals were friendly toward people. They were all very good motivated. We encountered a giraffe, donkeys, zebras, horses, cows, pigs, dwarf steers, camels, emu, deer, buffalo and more. The animals were often trying to bully their way to the front of the line. The cow Oreo who has not skipped a meal was always front of the line. 3. Afternoon safari ride in ATV. This was a fun ride around the property. Did not see any new animals but had a great time. The cows out at pasture were thrilled to be fed. 4. Giraffe encounter and meal. This was a little expensive but I would spend it again. The giraffes were super friendly and personable. We wanted to take them home because they were so much fun. The guide, experience and never felt rushed made this worth it. Our guide was top notch. I think her name was Jackie but could be wrong.
