DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!! I took my vehicle to Charles, but before leaving it I specifically asked him if he could do the repairs on my car being that I was having a hard time finding someone local who knew how to work on my specific vehicle. He told me he was the only one is town who worked on my type of vehicle. Turns out that was a lie and he actually new someone locally who specialized in European vehicles. So, after having my car for 3 weeks, (on a friday) I got my car back. I instantly noticed my cars issue was not resolved so I called him and we agreed I would take it back to him that following Monday. I dropped it off as agreed upon and waited 4 more weeks to get my car back again. This after me calling him multiple times because he would never update me, even though he always said he would have it back to me within a the week. He finally called me on a Thursday saying it was good to go. I asked if it was done right this time and of course he assured me that it was. I went out of town that Friday morning for the weekend, but had to come back the next day because my car was leaking and spraying oil as I drove it, along with an intense burnt smell. My car was 10 times worse than when I first took it to him. I immediately called him that Monday morning and he asked me to take it back to him. Even longer story short, after 5 months (from the start) I finally had to call him and ask for my car back and for my money back as he did NOT fix my car, instead he made it worse! He completely insulted me, yelled at me and called me every name in the book. He even went as far as to say it was not his fault, that my "stupid car won't take the part I'm putting on it".  A part I later found out he was trying to jimmy rig to avoid replacing the entire part needed, because he did not know how to do it!  Again, after calling me every name in the book, he refused to let me speak and hung up on me. I called him back and he would not answer. Once he finally did, I asked him to have my car ready outside and I'd be there in a few minutes to get. He refused to give me any money back and NEVER fixed my car. I had to take it elsewhere (to the place he knew specialized in my vehicle type) and pay much more to get the job done right! European Auto was great! I highly recommend them if you have a European made vehicle! In between all the time Charles had my car, I had to call twice a week for an update because he would never call me with updates. He always said he would, but never did. I also was told many times by Grant, his employee, that my car was "up in the air as we speak".  However, every time I drove by, my car was parked in his lot with multiple vehicles behind mine and filthy dirty. Which you could tell my car was just parked and never being worked on. I also constantly got the, "part is on order, but will be here in 2 days". After 4 days I'd call and guess what, the part was still on order. I would not recommend anyone, especially a female to take their vehicle here. After my experience with him, I heard from others that he treats women like crap and also claims to not know someone if they mention their negative experiencewith him! Something I wish I would have known beforehand. Charles is such a jerk, a lier and a thief and takes no responsibility for his actions. And Grant lie for him too. Not one cent was returned to me and the work needed was not done! On the contrary, he returned my car in worse condition than he got it. Not only that, but my vehicle was also scratched up around the car and my rims have damage as well. This has been by far the worse customer service I've ever encountered. It's been a year now since we been going to them and so far; our experience with them has been great. This business was suggested from my neighborhood from nextdoor(.com) as my vehicle was leaking fluids. Drove my car there, explained what was wrong (the people who were changing my oil notify me the damage and inform me to get it fix right away), and it took about a month to fix (brought my car in a few days before Christmas so they didn't get it fix until January). They found the problem, replaced/fixed the parts, and gave us a reasonable price (around $400). They were pretty honest, quite cheery, and explained how it was fixed and why it was damaged (parts were old so they replace it with new ones). Husband and I were happy with their work that went back to them later to get our truck fixed. The prices they gave us so far is something you can't beat and we never encountered anymore problems again after they fix it which is nice! What's a plus for my husband and I is that if they see something steal able in your vehicle, they actually take it and put it in a safe place in their office (apparently the radio in one of our vehicles can pop off and they kept it safe until we retrieve our car which was nice of them to do; we weren't aware that it even came off!). I'll admit, it is difficult to get a hold of them over the phone to know what's happening to your vehicle. There are moments they are rude but other times; they been pretty nice as long your polite and reasonable on why you called. Just don't call everyday. You'll be annoyed too if someone called you nonstop. What I do find a pain is that it's difficult to find a place to park where they are located. It can be a bit of a walk depending what time you arrived as there are many private parking spots you cannot park at so be sure to watch out for the signs to prevent getting towed/getting a ticket. One more thing to add before I forget is that their office is pretty dusty and oily which shouldn't be a surprise considering what kind of business they are so if your expecting a fancy, clean place. You better shoo those thoughts away. Usually, I'm picky on how clean the place is but seeing how well they taken care of our vehicles makes up for it so I have no complaints here! read more

Car was kept for 4 weeks. No phone calls to say what's going and calls to them were ignored and not answered. Finally got them and oh boy was he rude. Said to get the car outta there! When picking it up he was totally rude and obnoxious! Not the way to treat a customer let alone a repeat customer! No more recommendations from me! read more

This place is a joke. Charles is extremely rude and arrogant. He had my car for over a month. He did not call me with information even once. I always had to call for status updates. Until he started screening my calls. When I finally got ahold of him, and told him that I was concerned, he was extremely rude and told me to pick up my car the next day. My car WAS NOT fixed, the middle console was all messed up and the key was stuck in the ignition. Worst experience at a mechanic I've ever had. I was attending a Veteran's convention and hit a curb heading back to the hotel. I wasn't sure of the damage, but there was a terrible rattle in the frontend of my vehicle. I found Bryant's using "auto repair near me". Being from out-of-town, I was concerned about being taken advantage of. Bryant's tech could not have been more "disarming" and professional. He had me drop the car off (fortunately he was 1/2 block from the convention center) and spent time listening to me explain what I was hearing from my car. In 2 hours, he was calling me to explain what he'd found and gave me the estimated cost. In essence, by the end of the afternoon, the car was repaired, the cost was very reasonable and I had made a new friend. I only wish that I had a similar auto shop in my home town!!!!! read more

I regret that I have to leave this review, I have taken my vehicle to Bryant's for years when it was located in east City, and I was extremely satisfied then. My recent experience getting my Civic safety done was horrific. Extremely disappointing. My rear automatic window needed to be fixed and a relay for the running lights replaced, I didn't have time to do it and it was already in so I told them I trusted them and do what was needed. When I got the car back I was shocked to find that my passengers side seat beside the electrical box was covered in grease stains and the exterior door handle was broken off of it's posts. I couldn't imagine them breaking the handle or passing it with a broken handle... but it was suspicious that it was the same door as the broken window. So I just bought the part from the wreckers, painted it to match the car, and went to install it. And found out again that they have damaged the interior panel in two areas with a screwdriver and ripped open my door plastic liner instead of popping the clips. Many people I know including family rave about Bryant's auto -- so maybe this was an off day. But I really don't appreciate having to repair my vehicle after it comes back from the shop. I am definitely considering going somewhere else now. read more

When I talked to Charles on the phone, he was very polite and ensured they would figure it out. And that they did. A little over two weeks later and my car is running like new again! I really liked Bryants after I got an oil change and basic checkup for my Saturn there last March. Before going to Bryants, one of the chain car servicers in the area had told me extensive work needed to be done and quoted me an insane price. Wanting a second opinion, I went to Bryants. The guys at Bryants performed the oil change at a reasonable price and did a courtesy checkup, reassuring me that nothing further needed to be done. They (I think Charles in particular) were friendly and seemed honest. This summer, I wanted to go back for another service -- but can't seem to get them to return my calls after multiple messages (hence, the four stars instead of five). I'm bummed that I'll have to go to another place since this place gave me a great vibe. read more

SECOND SUPER POSITIVE YELP FOR BRYANTS AUTOMOTIVE, THIS ONE 3 YEARS AFTER THE FIRST ONE (MARCH 13, 2013)...... ** If you scroll down here on Yelp you'll see my past Yelp for Charlie at Bryant's back in March of 2013 when on my way to Woodies in the Valley in my 1951 Woodie, after hitting one of those infamous Highway 99 pot holes it took out my front wheel bearing and after finally being able to pull over, had almost fused to the axle it was so hot. SATURDAY 3/11/2016: I was driving my "NEW" 1940 Ford Standard Woodie to Woodies in the Valley in Visalia, on Saturday, 3/11/2016 when I started experiencing motor problems on I-5. The problem was as if running out of gas. After the engine died I pulled to the side of I-5 and noticed the electric fuel pump wasn't making any noise. So reverting to SOP, I hit it a few times and it started working. Got back on the road and it worked for a few miles then stopped again. After two other breakdowns, I finally made it to Harris Ranch on 198 around 3:30PM. Now the fun starts? I called my friend Wayne Y., told him of the problem and he says "no problem, Charlie, over at Bryant's Automotive on Willow in Visalia has graciously volunteered again to provide mechanical repairs for any of the Woodies if needs arise. After calling AAA for a flatbed tow to Bryant's Auto, I called Charlie said I will be there soon. ( now its after 3:45PM) He asks questions about what electric fuel pump I'm running and being I've only had the car a year I didn't know. He asks some questions about the motor, carburetor and some other things about the car. He says "NO PROBLEM, I'LL HAVE A FEW DIFFERENT ELECTRIC FUEL PUMPS HERE WHEN YOU GET HERE AND WE'LL GET YOU BACK ON THE ROAD TONIGHT"!!!!!!!!!!! Well, flatbed tow truck came and we got to Charlie's place around 5:30PM...YES 5:30PM (when mechanics normally call it a day and go home). After dumping the car from the flatbed, Charlie's finishing up on a car and says I'll take care of it, give me your cell phone number and go see your Woodie friends gathered at the A&W and I'll call you later tonight. He then says DON'T WORRY, WE'LL HAVE IT DONE TONIGHT! (DAM, it sure gets cold in Visalia, bring a jacket with you if you ever go during an EL NINO RAIN STORM) Later, at 8:30PM, while having dinner my buddy Wayne Y. comes over and tells me it's ready..DONE...WORKING! We get over to the shop and the Woodie is up in the air on the rack purring like a pussycat...THAT MEANS RUNNING. Then Charlie tells me the system on the car is a pretty exotic setup and because he could not get any same type replacement parts on the weekend, he came up with the idea of just bypassing the present system and using one of the available electric pumps he had. Showing me exactly what he did without cutting/splicing any wires or fuel lines and original setup left intact so when I got home I could order the parts and just replace them and simply disconnect/remove this tempt system and install new replacements. Although I said this at the end of my last Yelp post I feel I must say it again: Charles likes his job, likes what he does, does it great honest way and is a great guy. I felt like I was at my friends place watching him work on his car. He's a car guy which pretty much says it all! I have found them to be one of the few establishments that do not try to sell you on services you don't need. Be honest with them and they will give you an honest assessment and great work to boot. Charles is awesome, and very honest! I took my truck to (Main St Tires) about 8 Months ago for an alignment, and they told me I needed to replace the rack and pinion and other stuff before they could align it.. I decided to park my truck and drive my other car.. On 5/22/13 I took it to Charles for the repairs... Well Guess what? Charles put it on the lift and inspected it and said everything looks good!! No repairs needed?!! He just said it really needs a good alignment!! I asked him how much for the inspection? Charles said" nothing,just bring it back after you get new wheels/tires and I'll align it for you" Charles is very honest, probably the last honest mechanic around.. Went in for some front end work on my pickup. They were able to get me in that day but the mechanic and the office gal were bickering over the appointment that I didn't have. Shop is an absolute mess, grease everywhere and just filthy in general. Got the work done but the experience was not so great. I was from out of town and my car broke down. The started went out and I didn't want to take it to the BMW dealer so the tow truck driver recommended this place. I told the owner to please try and get the car started so I could get back to the Los Angeles area to my mechanic. After a while he got it started charged hardly anything and I was off. My sister owns a 2003 Saturn Vue. We have had it in to one shop probably 5 times to fix the same problem, leaking oil - I mean really leaking oil. They would work on it and return it to us and it would still leak oil (they never charged us for these visits - they were generous about that). We finally took it to the dealer in town - they charged us $125 to tell us that they couldn't fix it (because parts weren't available) that we should probably cut our losses and junk it before spending any more money. My sister drove it to an oil change place just to have some of the oil replaced. The person that worked there told her to take it to Bryant's, "that guy can fix any car". Charles thoroughly investigated the oil leak, he found that there was a hose (vacuum?) on the back of the engine that had been jerry rigged, it had a kink in it and that was causing a pressure problem within the engine. It is all fixed, doesn't leak oil now. He currently has the car to do the brakes. We knew that they needed to be done and didn't want to do them if the car had to be junked. We trust both Charles honesty and his ability to find and fix problems. He is more than fair in his charges. It is good for my sister to have someone like that to take care of car problems.
