I visited this Brewster's location at 5:30 PM on Wednesday, January 22, and had an extremely disappointing experience. The young lady working at the counter took over 10 minutes to even acknowledge us, and when she finally opened the window, she didn't greet us--she simply stared blankly until we assumed we should place our order. When I ordered the seasonal chocolate chip cookie sundae (with sprinkles), she looked confused, as if I had asked her to solve a calculus problem. She then asked me to take a picture of the menu item and show it to her, and proceeded to shout for instructions on how to prepare the sundae, which was simply a scoop of ice cream with two cookies. When the sundae was served, it was missing sprinkles, so I went to the counter to address it. She saw me standing there but ignored me, walked past to look at her phone, and then went to the bathroom for over 15 minutes. This was by far the worst customer service I've ever experienced at this location. It's no surprise this place is struggling if this is how they treat their customers. read more

Actually, it's like that in the winter too. Sometimes they just close early but I think it's because of the work shortage there has been. Pulling up to this Bruster's it doesn't look like your traditional Bruster's. In is in a strip mall and only has one service window. But I ordered two sundaes. My sundae was a little difficult, but the cashier (Jamar) was very patient with me. He repeated my order to ensure it was correct. He even explained the order to the young man preparing the ice cream. This encounter was absolutely refreshing because customer service now is almost non existent. Then when he brings me my waffle cone and hands it to me the cone is so thin it crumbles in my hand when I take it. Went here for the first time today and will never go back!! The young girl on the register was so rude, inconsiderate and appalling! I told her I wanted a sugar cone with 2 scoops of ice cream, naming which flavors. She then blatantly roller eyes at me, said "you mean a waffle cone"? I guess trying to make me feel stupid. I said yes. Then she asked me what flavors again! She would have known if she wasn't trying to shame me by what word I was using. Went in person to order a cake for 4th of july. The thing is I went the day before to order it. my brother went to pick up the next day AT 5 P.M. and they did not have the flavor we asked for and they apparently didn't have someone there who could put "Happy Birthday Alex" on the cake. Also it took about 30 minutes for them to get the cake ready which makes no sense since they didn't give us what we asked for. Overall it was a Half A*s job. I am always screaming for ice cream!!! That being said, I'm so happy there is a Brusters Ice Cream on Pleasant Hill again! Although there's lots of creative ice cream treats in the area, sometimes you just want old fashioned ice cream- brusters! So it's like the typical other Bruster the only difference is there is only a tiny bench right next to the ordering area. Most other locations are actually their own building, but this one is in a shopping center, right by Boba Mocha. The menu is the same, they have so many great flavors to choose from, but I always stick to the banana split which cost about 6-7$. This includes three scoops of ice cream, banana, strawberry & pineapple syrup and of course the cherry! So all of this sounds great right? Why three stars? It's simple, I come here at least once a week & although I always end up craving the banana split it's just not consistent to me. For my last three visit the strawberry syrup taste like the strawberries have gone bad... & then twice they had run out of the whipped topping that goes on the ice cream. If there was a location that was closer to me I would gladly frequent there as opposed to this location just because of the lack of quality I've been receiving. Service is always good, there's always a young man that is working every single time I come by. I don't know his name yet. Pretty good chocolate ice cream. The kiddie size waffle cone was 20 cents cheaper so it was something like $3.50. I thought the price was pretty high for what you're getting but I understand Bruster's needs to make money. At least they're offering good ice cream. You order from a window by the curb but I don't remember if they have indoor seating. I'm guessing no especially b/c I remember seeing people sitting outside. There was a guy and girl working. Second time this month, the worker tried to cheat off a dollar from a small cone that is supposed to be $3.89 + tax, which should come out to be $4.12 total. The receipt I got was $5.12, and the explanation she gave me $3.89 + tax = $5.12. Horrible math, 25% tax huh? So I asked for a refund, and she gave a refund of $4.12 and told me she cannot give a refund back for a dollar tip. What the hell? So, she literally charged me a dollar tip without asking any of my intention. Waiting there with my son for 30 mins due to slow service, it was horrible experience of my entire Bruster's life. Myself Being really associated with this franchise, I could not tolerate this. They still took my dollar for providing such bad experience. Watch out guys. read more

customer service wasnt great. the girl working there had a slight attitude but she's just a teenager and i don't expect exceptional service from anyone who works here but when i got my ice cream there was ice chips and random bits of something that was most definitely not ice cream in there. it didnt even taste good enough for me to just accept it that way either. used to work at this location a few years back. new crew definitely doesn't clean well. wouldnt reccomend getting ice cream here. if any of the workers are reading this make sure to at least tap off most of the water from the dome-ing tool so it doesnt end up pooling and freezing with the ice cream. it literally isnt that hard. read more

I've never been to a Brusters that gave us so little ice cream and overcharged us. We ordered 3 kids cones and they charged us $4.09 - the sign says $3.09, their explanation was that "prices went up but they aren't changed on the sign." No refund offered or extra ice cream. Change your prices or let people know. read more
