A little over $25 and it was on a huge, grilled hot dog roll. Onion Rings were freshly made. The place was packed at noon time, but the waitress did her best with all those people. Diner is a diner - simple food, low prices are usually similar among diners (IMHO). Service and atmosphere is what makes a difference. We had breakfast today in Brunswick Diner. The service was exceptional - very friendly servers (not rubber smile - friendly, but really friendly :o) ), and they were making an effort to make customers feel welcome. Example: 6-7-year-old girl a couple of tables over had two dolls with her. I saw one of the servers bring a seat booster for the dolls and have a quick chat with the kid (the girl was pleasantly surprised). All this was done with a smile while serving a full diner. Awesome little diner! We stopped here in a whim while on our way to Bar Harbor. This is a Brunswick landmark with great food and one of the best bloody marys I've ever had. The Bowdin bowl is AMAZING! Roasted Brussels sprouts topped with crispy tater tots, cheese and crumbled bacon, 2 poached eggs and a silky hollandaise sauce to pull it all together for a filling and satisfying start to the day! A nice change up to the traditional waffles, pancakes, and omelettes. My partner in crime ordered the big daddy and couldn't be happier! I barely got a pic of the plate before it was all gone. This place is a sure fire stop if you're looking for great food anywhere near Brunswick/Topsham. We drove up from Biddeford and it was well worth the wait... had to wait a bit thanks to the rain and how busy the diner was with their limited staff. Limited staff or not, their staff is amazing, polite and great service and conversation. They work their butts off and it's truly appreciated especially in this post Covid area with some many places that couldn't get staff. This was a GREAT brunch stop for my friend and I. We love the diner experience so we were extremely happy to find a diner on our way to Rockport/Rockland. The food here was filling and the staff is brilliant. They of course had a great system of getting all of us ( people waiting to eat) at outdoor tables or indoor dining. I didn't mind so much because the owner - Jane, was out talking with everyone, and she explained why the line was long - short on staff - but it was not bad at all! ( Anyone wanna move to Maine and work there?) The menu has a great selection of food, and I have to give props the the chef. Raven and Sadie Jane were welcoming and attentive both days my partner and I visited! everything we ordered (lobster roll, miss bs classic breakfast, James dean biscuits and gravy, and the classic Benny) was fresh, well seasoned, and absolutely delicious. furthermore, I enjoyed the best bloody Mary i have had in a diner. My partner said his pumpkin beer with a cinnAmin sugar rum and vodka special was a great representation of fall and very yummy. I love eating breakfast out, especially outside on the patio despite the loud traffic behind me here at the Brunswick diner. It is sort of hard to screw up breakfast unless they aren't serving fresh food. Based on the description of the corn beef hash I assumed it was homemade but was mistaken. It looks like cat food and since I've never tried cat food it may have been. It was super salty, tasting like it came freshly out of a can. My fault, I always ask if homemade before ordering hash and I didn't today. The home fries were cooked correctly but were pretty clearly taken out of the freezer that morning and also were particularly salty. The eggs and toast were done just right but didn't make up for the rest unfortunately. The reason for the three instead of lower is that the service is always excellent here. read more

This dinor is clean and up to date with old time comfort. Food was amazing, eggs cooked perfectly. Toast that was actually toasted and not just warm bread. Potatoes were crunchy and delicious not cooked to a rock hard state or mushy and tasteless. The bacon was outstanding. Usually to save money a lot of places have bacon so thin that it has only one side. Not here, thick cut hickory smoked slices of meat candy. WOW, just WOW. Coffee cup never less than half full. Don't let the unusual ordering arrangement deter you from eating at this fabulous diner. When you walk up, there is a booth outside where you place your order. There is an atm there as well but they do take credit cards. You can pay either there or inside, although the card reader outside was not working. Once there is room inside, they take you in. There is outside seating too, but everything was wet from a storm when we went. Inside is a classic diner setup with counter seating and booths. It's a tight squeeze between the two. Coffee is fantastic, I had the breakfast sandwich with home fries. Came on a perfectly crisped English muffin with gooey melted American cheese. Home fries were nicely seasoned. My son got the blueberry pancakes and a milkshake and said they were both really good. $70 without tip for 4 people with non-water drinks. Service was super friendly and attentive. The food was (almost) fine, the service (once we were seated) was good. However the place is a disorganized mess. It was raining and the place is very small so after we 'checked in' we huddled under the umbrellas for what we were told was going to be no more than 10 minute's wait. More parties came to check in. About 15 minutes later a staff person came out to see who was waiting, they didn't keep track. We asserted ourselves that we were next up and she confirmed. 15 minutes later she sat a party of 4 (we were also a party of 4) that arrived after us. (And if this family were nice people they would have said something and not STOLEN our booth!) We ended up waiting another 15-20 minutes in the rain until they had us sit on the rickety, super uncomfortable stools at the counter. How hard would it be to put names on a list like a normal place? They try to remember who's in line but they clearly don't communicate with each other. Start using a sign in sheet! By the time we were seated we were hangry and then my over-easy eggs were over-hard (they did make new ones but still) and my English muffin was raw, so I just didn't eat it. This place is a really cute old fashioned diner. The two waitresses were really cheerful and friendly and worked well together. The breakfast was so delicious. I got the corned Beef Hash, they make their own on site. It was the best I've ever had. Their scrambled eggs were also delicious. It's hard to find a restaurant that does good scrambled eggs. Before the pandemic, I used to come here religiously every Saturday for their James Dean and service. Staff at one point would just see me walk in with my partner and would serve our drinks and ask if we wanted our usuals and would have our food ready and served in 15 minutes (10/10 overall). However, it closed for a year due to covid and was heartbroken not being able to get my usual order with my partner. This allowed them to take time to make some changes and although the establishment was renovated for good reason, the food changed for the worst (at least in my opinion). My biscuits? Stale and burned (could not even bite through it or cut it with a knife). The sausage gravy? watery and unflavorful. Still sad today knowing I will never be able to get my perfect breakfast in the world ever again read more

Wow!! What a hidden gem!! Incredibly friendly staff and customers! I wish I had found this restaurant at the beginning of my trip instead of the end because I would have been here everyday. The food is very affordable and honestly better than some fancy restaurants I've visited. They are also offering meals specifically for family's (one meal can be for up to 4 people) for $25 (as of today)! It's hard to find such a classic, old school diner any more. I was surprised by some of the negative reviews. I'm glad my daughter chose the diner from a different website as I might not have gone based on the stars. If you read some of the bad reviews, they don't really seem fair, though. I mean, how is it the diner's fault that someone had a dog in a car that barked when you went in and out? Also, paying cash is not that big a problem, especially when they have an ATM right there. Restaurants often operate on a slim margin, and credit card fees may just be too much. SO, on to our experience, which was great. We got the last seat in the place for dinner on a weekday night. Most of the crowd was local and our server was great. Don't go to New England and expect a California chat. Reserved and respectful is fine. Give people a chance to warm up to you. Our waitress was pleasant, the kitchen got our orders out in a very reasonable time frame given how busy it was, and the food was great. By the end of the evening we felt like old friends. The atmosphere is perfect. A very nice little diner that is just the right amount of "run down" so it feels real, not shabby and not kitschy either. The prices are low (again, cash helps with keeping prices low). Definitely a keeper. read more

The menu is extensive with classics, originals and daily specials. They have breakfast lunch dinner and dessert. They are open 24 hours Friday and Saturday only. Don't forget it's cash only. The funky chicken salad sandwhich was wonderful. Fresh chicken and mayo topped with bacon and Swiss cheese, served on grilled Texas toast.
