Really great pizza! This is a great location in downtown Marblehead with parking on the east side of the building. In the summer they have outdoor seating and inside is fairly basic and flexible pizza place decor. It would be a good place for families or groups. Pizza has three crucial parts: crust, sauce, and toppings. The crust was hand tossed and nicely chewy. The sauce was a good flavor - fresh and tomato forward. The cheese was chewy and appropriately stringy. Pepperoni was flavorful and abundant. C.J. was friendly and attentive- checking back on drinks and to see if I was happy. I was very happy. Our family of 16 was staying at Lakeside on Marblehead and each year we order pizza for one of our meals. Last year was a disaster so this year I decided to look outside of Lakeside for pizza's. I called the manager on July 3rd and asked what I had to do in order to get pizza's delivered on time. She told me to order the pizza's online and specify the time. Since this is probably a very busy time for Bruno's, I was a bit concerned but she reassured me the order would be correct and delivered on time. I went to the website, which was extremely easy to use, ordered multiple pizza's and they were delivery on time. Not only was the order absolute perfect but the pizza's were wonderful. 'Everyone' loved their pizza. In my opinion, the pizza's were very reasonably priced. We go to Lakeside every year during the July 4th holiday and will continue to order our pizza's from Bruno's. Having driven past Bruno's Pizzeria dozens of times, I finally had an opportunity to stop for lunch and try them out. On entering the restaurant, the young man behind the counter looked genuinely surprised to have a customer walk in at 2pm on a Monday in December. When I asked if I could dine-in for lunch, he looked surprised again and invited me to select a table. I then advanced to the dining room and seeing only one other table occupied by patrons who were wrapping up, I selected a nice high table by the wall. A few minutes later, the same gentleman handed me a menu and asked what I wanted to drink. By the time he returned with my Pepsi, I had zeroed in on the fresh baked subs, so I asked which one he preferred. When he said the cheesesteak was his favourite, so I went with that one. Before tax and tip, my bill totaled $12.78, which felt pretty average. While I liked the classic Italian décor in the restaurant, the many televisions hanging from the various walls seemed out of place. Below the TVs, the restaurant gave a classical Italy vibe with tasteful pictures and wall hangings, but then you had a bunch of televisions showing Doctor Oz and other random talk shows. These all combined to give an odd sort of sports-bar-meets-nice-Italian-restaurant feel. After a pretty average wait (which actually felt kind of long since I was the only person in the place), my sub arrived. While the sandwich itself had a good flavour, it was not nearly as juicy as one might have expected for a cheesesteak. Likewise as David M noted below in his review, the bun was really dry. Add in the salty potato chips, and it made for a very thirsty meal. I was glad when the employee offered me a refill, and was maybe a little disappointment that he did not offer me another when he brought my bill. Overall I found Bruno's Pizzeria pretty average all across the board: taste, service, price, ambiance, etc. I had no issues during my visit, but likewise nothing really impressed me. Was sort of disappointed. Stopped here after a relaxing afternoon and the winery down the street. Sat outdoors which was nice. First red flag, (but not surprised) was the sign inside the door stating to be patient since they are short staffed. I get it. We were quickly seated by a waitress that appeared stressed and overwhelmed. Our order was placed also quick. Drinks came out good. Our pizza was cauliflower crust with 4 toppings. 1/2 mushroom. It came out with ALL mushrooms and the toppings were thinly placed. We also ordered salads that we had to ask for when our pizza came out. Salad was nothing special. They did offer to remake the pizza, but a couple large groups came it after us and we didn't want to wait. The food quality was just ok. I ordered boneless wings, they didn't even look like chicken wings. my daughter ordered the alfredo, it literally looked and tasted like play-doh. server removed the playdoh Alfredo, added in her own tip gratuity. I told her I pay my tips in cash and I choose my own gratuity based off service. she told me to speak to the manager. manager said there's nothing they can do. so I had a tip added onto my bill without my permission, that the server didn't even deserve after my experience. she hands me another receipt to sign with tip percentages for ANOTHER tip. please pay attention to your receipts and make sure you are not tipping twice more. I will always tip my server but to add your own gratuity is crazy. I guess this place has gone down hill over the years, they have to make their money somehow someway so they choose to steal from their customers. do better. super unprofessional and unapologetic. read more

We recently ordered a medium half pep/ half sausage. They couldn't even get a one topping half and and half correct. No pepperoni on the pizza. We used to love this place and would make a special trip up to go to Marblehead Lighthouse and Bruno's. The pizza reminded me of the homemade pizza my family would make that everyone loved but even better. But the last several times the pizza and the crust was different. More like a "off the truck" crust instead of house made. The pizza has no body to it. The pieces fall apart and cheese slides off. And over priced for what it is. Like $14 for a one topping medium! It's not fancy, it's basic Italian and wings, but they do it well. Three of us had wings, and my wife (celiac) had the cauliflower pizza. All of it was really good. My Hot Garlic wings were great, man I loved those things. The mozzarella stick appetizer was good, the Greek salad was pretty good, lots of feta and olives. The wing prices were a bit high, but they were really good. Overall, it's a bit pricey for what you get, but we really enjoyed what we got and will return if we have the opportunity. read more

I order a large Hawaiian pizza at 5:55 PM on 07-05-23 to be delivered. The guy taking my order said the delivery would be 25 to 30 minutes. 7 PM no pizza, called and was put on hold for 10 minutes no answer so I called again, another 10 minute wait. Finally a different guy answered and I said where my pizza. He said the guy that took my order told me the delivery was 45 minutes to an hour. I told him no the guy said 25 to 30 minutes. He apologized and said he would have a talk with him. Ask if I wanted a free 2 liter pop and I said yes. 7:35 PM still no pizza. So I called again only to wait for another 10 minutes. Finally got someone on the phone and told him still haven't go my pizza. He said the pizza was just leaving the building. I said to cancel my order as waiting over and hour and 35 minutes was long enough. He said ok, did not apologize and acted like it was no big deal. I will never order from them again. We stopped ordering from them 2 years ago because they did the same thing and would put the phone on hold so the didn't have to answer them. We started ordering from the a few months ago because they seemed like they clean up their act. Guess not. Ordered a Pepperoni Pizza, it was okay and it did have lots of cheese. Ordered a Margherita Pizza but it had very little to no cheese and did not have much of a taste. I went to Marblehead Ohio for shopping and lunch with my mom, we were walking past Bruno's and asked the guy on the outside patio if the pizza was good . And of course he said yes. After reading yelp reviews , we decided to try it. The old world pepperoni pizza is amazing and the crust is hand tossed. The sauce is so yummy too. We also got a single order of cheesy bread which was also very good. I'm so happy with our choice and will definitely be back with friends. Also , the guy on the outside patio was also the general manager and he was our waiter too. In the past few years I would have rated this a 4 star place. However, since last fall there has been a steady and noticeable decline in service and attention to accuracy. This was our go to place for carry out but no longer. They messed up our last three orders by not including items we paid for, putting items such as meatballs in sauce after we requested meatballs on the side or not including salad with meals. We spoke with manager and received a credit but when we cashed in credit that order was incorrect also. Our pick up times have also been inaccurate and usually quoted 25-45 minutes. However, all wait times have been 1-1 1/4 hours. The staff left me sitting there with no sense of urgency to make sure your order is handled correctly. Need to find better help and more of an efficient process or more customers will find other options for carry out in the area. I love Bruno's! It's my go to place for pizza. I love to sit out on the patio on a warm summer day and have a glass of wine with some appetizers. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. The place is very busy, but the service suffers from sheer overstretching even though the servers try heard. The person who took my takeout order didn't seem to think making a meatless sub (cold for crying out loud) was possible. Our waitress at the dine in was much more understanding and suggested nice options. The pizza itself - oversauced, oversalted, and overcheesed, the crust suffers. Pity. I think the crust has potential with a lighter hand. Many topping choices, so that's a plus. Good salad choices. And drinks as well - I discovered Great Lakes Co's Dortmunder Gold here, which is a beer in my sweet spot of taste. Happy it's there. Kids got pizza. Just okay. Our first impression wasn't great, as we and a bunch of other people hung out at an unmanned greeter podium in a steamy spot by the kitchen for a long while without being addressed. A fun, friendly chick popped over to the takeout area and said 25 minutes for our pizza-no problem. When we returned for our grub it was again disappointing to hang out unaddressed, finally standing up to lean on the counter overlooking the kitchen, annoyed. Our girl saw us and asked a cook about our pizza and that unmistakable "uh-oh!" look came over his face-our order had obviously been forgotten about. "It'll be a few more minutes" she tells us, giving us 2 takeout sodas gratis, which was nice. Another 25 minutes and we finally got our food. It was cut in strange, tiny chunks (our pie was round) that fell apart when you tried to remove a slice. Also, the uncooked pizzas are lined up before going into the oven with the receipts sitting on them, right on top of your food. Now I know full well that assorted things go on behind the scenes in a restaurant environment, but it took me aback seeing foreign objects put on the food in plain sight of the open counter overlooking the kitchen! Don't a large number of cash register receipt papers cause cancer due to high levels of Bisphenol A? This is odd and less than sanitary. The regular cheese pizza had a rich red sauce and generous helpings of cheese. The salads were large, but the Italian dressing was just OK. Second time we placed a delivery order the pizza was an hour late. Got the order unpacked and they forgot our salad dressing. Called Brunos asking them to heave a delivery drive bring us the dressing we ordered or refund us and they just laughed. Everyone we spoke with at Brunos was rude and unhelpful. First time for my family in Marblehead and we got in late and ordered delivery on the way in. I found the pizza was delicious. Good sauce and good toppings and we like the thin crust with the fat outer edge. There was a miscommunication using the internet order option and one of the pizzas was delivered wrong, but the issue was immediately resolved despite being after closing hours and i'm pretty sure it was delivered by someone on their way home from work. The older woman who was are server dropped off the pizzas at our table and left never to be seen again. I wanted a refill on my drink and I waited and waited and waited and she never came back. Although the place was 50% full when we got there, when I was waiting we were 1 of 2 tables left. I literally had to get up and go get my own drink refill. Unfreakingbelievable!
